PacNW Electionapalooza: WA, OR, ID and AK

UPDATE: ID, OR and WA polls now closed. AK polls open for two more hours.

UPDATE II: Washington Senate Race

At 9:09 PM (PST) Murray (D) 50.59% vs Rossi (R) 49.41%

UPDATE III: Links to state results added below the fold.

UPDATE IV: Polls now closed in Alaska

UPDATE V: What Ace just said below (sorry I keep vanishing the thread...trying to add additional links and updates...and royally fucking up at it)

UPDATE VI:

Latest AK Senate results, fresh from the Baked Alaska oven:

McAdams, Scott T. DEM 31827 24.81%
Miller, Joe REP 44502 34.69%
Write-in Votes 50655 39.49%

And the WA Senate race tightens ever so slightly:

Murray (D) 712,359 50.60%
Rossi (R) 695,381 49.40%

Not to worry though. Still plenty of time for King County election workers to find some extra Murray ballots behind filing cabinets, in desk drawers and up their asses in case Rossi should actually pull ahead.

Some additional media links below...will get updates on the races still in play very soon.

Send tips, updates, random musings etc. to xgenghisx (at) gmail (dot) com

Updates, links etc. below the fold. Additional links and info. to be added throughout the evening.

Special greetings to the Sub-Moron Meetup in Fremont tonight. What's the final headcount? Pics/video or it didn't happen. That includes what you plan to do to the Lenin statue later on this evening.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: I'LL BE UPDATING THE POST AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. WHEN THAT HAPPENS THE COMMENTS VANISH UNTIL A NEW COMMENT IS MADE, SO DON'T WORRY...THEY HAVEN'T BEEN DISAPPEARED OR ANYTHING*

UBERLINKS: As I'm trying to get the numbers up, here's some sources you might want to follow (be patient...the interwebz are constipated tonight)

99 logprof, yep they will cheat as they usually do. Right now Murray's up 50 - 49 and I think they're done countingfor the night. I'm sure it will end up in court over what ballots can be counted and what should be thrown out to get to the winner. Ballots had to be postmarked today so they don't even have all of them yet.

102 McDermott had a challenger, who was also a D (top 2 primary). McDermott took it with over 80% of the vote (so far).

104 WA election result site is broken as fuck. For an entire hour, it only moved by 6K vote for both sides.

105 Those votes for AK write-ins are for all write-ins. There's no way to know how many are for the scrunt. Joe could still pull this out.

106 I'm wondering what precincts are reporting for AK... I don't know what areas would vote more for Miller than McCokescreetzki. I thought Miller had a pretty goo presence here in Anchorage, though I know pretty much every news outlet up here has been touting Murcowalowski as the best candidate (including a talk radio program or two on the conservative talk radio channel)... I pulled the lever for Miller, but I guess we'll see.

108 And holy ASKDBZNKIQP I'm realizing that there are quite a few uncontested house seats in AK and a good portion (i saw three in a row) were occupied by Dems. Abandon all hope.

109 I just can't believe Alaska would vote for Murky. But I couldn't believe Nevada would vote for Reid with almost 15%% unemployment. We shall see.

110 Well, shit. I was hoping they could call WA and AK tonight. I'm going to bed.
Can't wait to get up and read the Philadelphia Inquirer tomorrow!

111 Well.... I wasn't following this all night, I don't need the nail biting. Checking in now, I see I still live in the stupid state. (CA)
I know this was a good night in sum, but it feels like a let down at the moment. I'm leaving the pudding sealed and going to bed, maybe things will be better in the morning.

Prediction: Jerry Brown is recalled.

That happy thought occurred to me, too. That's a good possibility if he screws up as badly as I expect him to do.

If it happens, I hope we do better than Schwarzenegger this time.

113 We here in Idaho are used to being overlooked -- flyover land, and all that. But it's worth noting that my current congressman, Minnick, probably the bluest of all Blue Dogs (or would that be Reddest?), is apparently going down somewhat unexpectedly. Until a couple days ago, this was a "Lean Dem" district, and until a week ago it was "Probably Dem". Minnick (who's actually a pretty good guy, for a D) had the Tea Party endorsement until they withdrew it about a week ago. That reversal really seemed to turn the tide.

115 I just did the math and if voting trends hold across all counties in Washington then Dino Rossi should hold on with about a thousand votes to spare.
