One More Rah-Rah: When The Bear Is Poked, The Bear Must Attack, Or Else It Will Become a Pet

Downsized Upscale wrote:

One other thing. If you start reading how inevitable the tsunami is gonna be, and you think maybe you'll stay home on Election Day because one vote won't matter, I've got two words for you. Pile on.

This election has to be a 'pile on' of epic proportions. The guy at the bottom of the pile has to get up - after the ref separates the bodies - stagger over to the sidelines, drop his helmet to the ground, and limp out of the stadium, body and spirit crushed for the next twenty years.

Exactly.

Here's what I wrote, and I think it's important.

This is right, spot on.

There is injury, and then there is the insult upon it.

There is wound, and then there is the salt rubbed into it.

There is catastrophe, and then there is the rioting and looting afterwards that almost eclipses the original disaster.

That's what we're aiming for. We need to SHOCK them.

We need to riot and loot and run wild over them.

Dave in Texas (sorry to tip this) wants to... um, he wants to write on this subject and I keep avoiding it because I don't want to step on his toes. Dave -- you have to do that soon or I'm gonna jump ya!

But, okay, let me avoid Dave in texas' planned post.

For forty years liberals operated under a rule: "Don't scare the bear." The bear was the American electorate, skeptical of liberalism and hostile to socialism. So every liberal had to be afraid of the bear, approach it gingerly, be well-behaved, make small movements only.

For ten years, since 2000, liberal actiivsts have been agitating for full-throated, unapologetic liberalism. In 2008, they got their wish -- they elected the most socialist president in history and their Congress then became the most socialist congress ever.

Now: They think there is no more rule "don't scare the bear." They have done everything possible to wake and rouse and agitate the bear.

The bear has two responses now:

1. It goes back to sleep.

2. It tears their fucking faces off and leaves them maimed for life.

If it does 1, they will continue with their shrill socialist takeover.

If the bear does 2, they will never dream of doing this again... or at least for thirty years, which is about how long it took them to forget the lessons of Carter and McGovern.

Either way, liberals will be taught a lesson this year.

But they can learn one of two lessons:

1, America doesn't mind a little socialism and the electoral condquences for pushing it are minor and livable, or

2, My God What Have We Done.

We need the lesson to be 2.

If it's 1, we lose something forever.

We don't need to just beat them at the polls. As every general says: It's not just about beating your opponent on the battlefield, but beating him in his mind, defeating him in his own mind so that the knows he's been defeated and that mental state -- defeat -- is with him forever.

You can win a battle but if you don't defeat the enemy's spirit he will be back.

You have to do more than win a battle; you have to crush his will to fight.

Two Points and a Video: First of all, Henry Waxman is already enjoying that Democrats are going to lose -- he says they're going to lose the "difficult" Democrats anyway, so in effect the party will be usefully purged and the progressive caucus stronger and more pure.

He's already finding a silver lining in their losses.

That won't do: We need these losses to be unacceptable and brutal, even to this bat-faced mutant asshole.

Second, someone said I was writing like Kos in '08. That is correct.

And what did Kos say? He said he wanted to crush our spirits and leave us heartbroken.

And you know what? They did.

Think back to your mental state in November '08 to say February '09, before the Tea Party, before we got up off our backs and decided we were so angry we were going to fight.

I remember a lot of people being heartbroken. A lot of people just stopped reading about politics-- they couldn't bear it.

Glenn Beck's "We Are Not Alone" campaign became popular because people really needed and craved the reassurance they weren't alone, because they feared they were.

We at AoSHQ started organizing local meet-ups and cheer-ups for people to get out of the house and have an uplifting drink with fellow conservatives. And people kept writing to me how much they loved those things, and how they needed them.

Why? Because we were heartbroken, we were crushed in spirit.

They won. They did: The broke us.

But we came back.

But the point is that it is quite possible that if Barack Obama and the Democrats had been a little more cautious and hadn't been so hatefully dismissive of majority opinion, our anger never would have turned to fire and we might have remained meekly on the floor, defeated, beaten, dead.

We need to do the same thing to them, we need to crush their spirits and break their hearts into a million jagged pieces. And we need to do such a fine job of it they never heal up. Never.

Over at Hot Air, who linked this in his last post, he links one of my favorite songs, Surrender, as an anthem for the GOP (he means-- as something we say, as a command: Surrender!).

That's a good song, but here's my favorite. During the 2004 elections, I played this sometimes six or ten times a day in the final two months before the vote. It psyched me up. I can't think of too many better anthems for the conservative rebellion -- especially not now, when the lyrics are even more applicable than at any time in modern American history.

Hey, it worked once before.

Obviously, we will not get that turnout, but we need everyone!

17 I kinda agree. It's not just about taking control of the House and Senate, it's about winning as many seats as possible. That's why Angle and Rubio have to win, even if the GOP wins every other competitive Senate race and takes control of that body. As we saw LAST November, the LSM will obsess over an irrelevant setback (NY-22) to advance a narrative that the GOP was not successful, despite the wins in NJ and VA.

If Angle loses, the LSM will lead with this story, even if the GOP wins 70 house seats and 10 OTHER Senate seats.

The socialistic impulse is a part of human nature. Until we can program out jealousy from humanity, at least.

If we tell ourselves we can defeat it for good, we are just as guilty of utopianism as the idiots on the left.

We must guard against it in every election cycle. Every single time. Indeed, at all times.

Does you really believe that this is what they will take away from a sound beating. I don't. The left believes it own spin. They believe that America is simply deluded and confused by Fox News. Shit, listen to the nonsense that Sheryl Crow spews. Look at any blog inhabited by younger, non-political types. it's nothing but "Faux News" this and "Evil Corporations" that.

The goal shouldn't be to convince the left of anything - we need to continue winning hearts and minds of the people in the middle. Those who are able to take a critical, openminded look at what's going on and choose appropriately. The same people the left won in the last election because, quite frankly, we were fucking up.

In short, sure it's fun to beat the hell out of the left, but they're a lost cause. It's the middle that we need. Not by changing our message to appease them, but by getting it across in a concise way as Reagan did, as Palin does in most instances, and as I wish Romney would.

37 "Now
I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. You won it
by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country. Men, all this stuff you've
heard about America not wanting to fight, wanting to stay out of the war, is a lot of
horse dung.

Americans traditionally love to fight. ALL REAL Americans, love the sting of
battle. When you were kids, you all admired the champion marble shooter, the fastest
runner, the big league ball players, the toughest boxers . . . Americans love a winner and
will not tolerate a loser. Americans play to win all the time. I wouldn't give a hoot in
Hell for a man who lost and laughed. That's why Americans have never lost and will never
lose a war. Because the very thought of losing is hateful to Americans.

Now, an army is a
team. It lives, eats, sleeps, fights as a team. This individuality stuff is a bunch of
crap. The bilious bastards who wrote that stuff about individuality for the Saturday
Evening Post, don't know anything more about real battle than they do about fornicating.
Now we have the finest food and equipment, the best spirit, and the best men in the world.

You know . . . My God, I actually pity those poor bastards we're going up against. My God,
I do. We're not just going to shoot the bastards, we're going to cut out their living guts
and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We're going to murder those lousy Hun
bastards by the bushel.

Now some of you boys, I know, are wondering whether or not you'll
chicken out under fire. Don't worry about it. I can assure you that you'll all do your
duty. The Nazis are the enemy. Wade into them. Spill their blood, shoot them in the belly.

When you put your hand into a bunch of goo, that a moment before was your best friends
face, you'll know what to do. Now there's another thing I want you to remember. I don't
want to get any messages saying that we are holding our position. We're not holding
anything, we'll let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly, and we're not interested
in holding onto anything except the enemy. We're going to hold onto him by the nose, and
we're going to kick him in the ass. We're going to kick the hell out of him all the time,
and we're going to go through him like crap through a goose.

Now, there's one thing that
you men will be able to say when you get back home, and you may thank God for it. Thirty
years from now when you're sitting around your fireside with your grandson on your knee,
and he asks you, "What did you do in the great World War Two?" You won't have to
say, "Well, I shoveled shit in Louisiana." Alright now, you sons of bitches, you
know how I feel. Oh! . . . I will be proud to lead you wonderful guys into battle anytime,
anywhere. That's all."

47 I am so glad to see others saying this is not the time to be resting on one's laurels, or declaring 'victory' before the battle has been finally decided.

When I was in Vietnam, we had a saying: "First one knock him over....Everybody else pile on." Obviously, what we were talking about was showing no quarter, and offering the enemy absolutely no mercy when we engage.

While the overall events of this week have indeed been favorable to those who insist this be a nation governed in accordance with its Constitution, we should never relent, we should never flag, we should never consider the battle won until the enemy concedes defeat.

When victory is in sight, the victor redoubles his efforts to ensure victory does not escape his grasp. Our battle will not be won until the last poll closes November 2. The prize is our very way of existence. As a consequence, everybody please pile on, and exhort your friends and neighbors to continue piling on until the last poll closes.

5. Override Obama veto to reinstall Bush tax cuts or Bushtax cuts plus a little extra off the top
6. slash federal spending to, oh, I don't know 2001 levels.
7. investigate the fuck out of everyone we know to be dirty.

86 I'm wondering about something.
There has been much discussion about whether RINOs are good for anything at all.
I'm thinking that if theRepublicans and/or conservativesare in charge, the RINOs might be more likely to go along with them, rather than join the Democrats to block them.
I guess it depends on whether they are in the center because they are squishy or because they tend to believe in centrist values.
If that's true, then it would definitely be a good idea to hold your nose and vote RINO rather than let a Democrat win. Yes, many people have always said that, but I think there's even less support for the other POV now.

93 This from deep in a previous post (sorry for my redundancy)

The wave will be massively destructive. The real question, the real
task, is once these "conservatives" get into office will they remain
true. 42% of us are cons.. 20% libs. The rest are unprincipled
squishes that roam around. We know this. In the past, the conservative
voters sent their people to DC and they turned soft almost immediately.

This
time it's different. Guaranteed. That 42%, which I'm a part (61 yo
and never been more pissed off), and a Tea Partier (www.mosov.org) will
see to it that whoever we send to Plant DC will NOT go soft. If they
use either "cross the aisle" or "bipartisanship" just once, the
voices will be deafening. They will be watched like a hawk on a
perpetual basis.

That 42% will never leave the protest sidewalk
again and go back into the house. We have taken up permanent residence
on that said sidewalk.

It's still August. The election is more than two months away. A lot of swing voters aren't yet paying attention. And, sweet Lord, we've been on an extraordinary tear of good luck lately. Obama and the Democrats have been shooting themselves in the foot nonstop, but one of these days they're going to catch a break. This is FAR from over.

Posted by: Masturbatin' Pete at August 19, 2010 06:09 PM (9cbd0)

And then starting the repeal of everything this radical, extremist, anti-American government has done. And dare the media not to cover it. And call them out for abjectly falling down on the job. For not doing their job. For being lazy and inept slackers. If the media had done 1/10th of their job, this radical extremist in the White House would be a footnote in the history books, an also ran sent packing, back to his con-man,street corner community organizing agitating job.

The word they constantly use is "frame." They just need to frame the issues better and America won't mind 10% unemployment. I would say that their reaction to the mosque-formerly-known-as-the-Ground-Zero-Mosque is illustrative. It's just us Reichwing hate mongers astroturfing resentment who are causing the problem. 160 That is correct Ace.We need not tojust stop Obama but to roll back what he's already done. Even if we tooktwo thirds of theseats in Congress and every single Senate race, we still couldn't muster the numbers in the Senate to override a presidential veto.
So we need to makethe margins of defeat so great that it will motivate the Democrats in the Senate, whether out of concern for their survival orfrom sheer anger at Obama, to cough up those extra votes.
And not only do we need to crush them on the national level we neeed to win out the elections for governor and attorneys general. That way we can mount perhaps a 40 state legal challenge toObamacare

Besides, if we don't whup some lib ass this year, she -- or any Repub presidential hopeful -- will have more to deal with in terms of "previous-administration" catastrophes to deal with when they take office in '13 than Osama Obamawhines about having on his plate now. And that's a lot.

We will give you the Judgment of God!

If each man and woman does what they must
The overreaching tyrants will be turned into dust
Soon now our Lady of Justice will possess them in her breathtaking, hair raising bed
She will tingle each spine as she captures each head!

They will gaze up at our Lady of Justice
With her shimmering, glimmering blade
As she kisses these tyrants

198 Hey, Ace:

Here's a great new theme song! The lyrics are absolutely, spot-on perfect...

Muse - Upsrising

The paranoia is in bloom,
The PR, the transmissions, will resume,
They'll try to push drugs to keep us all dumbed down,
And hope that we will never see the truth around,
SO COME ON!

Another promise, another scene,
Another package not to keep us trapped in greed,
With all the green belts wrapped around our minds,
And endless red tape to keep the truth confined,
SO COME ON!

They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
And we will be victorious!

SO COME ON!

Interchanging mind-control,
Come, let the revolution take its toll,
If you could flick a switch and open your third eye,
You'd see that we should never be afraid to die,
SO COME ON!

Rise up and take the power back,
It's time that the fat cats had a heart attack,
You know that their time's coming to an end,
We have to unify and watch our flag ascend!
SO COME ON!

They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
And we will be victorious!

SO COME ON!

OI! OI! OI! OI!

(Solo begins to play)

OI! OI! OI! OI!

(Solo continues)

OI! OI! OI! OI!

(Solo continues)

They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
And we will be victorious!
SO COME ON!

(Synth begins to play)

OI! OI! OI! OI!

is joining state Sen. Mick Mulvaney of Lancaster on four stops on

216 It cannot stop at the ballot box. Not if we want to have our lives, our country--nay, our world--back. We may take the House and the Senate, but it must go further.

We cannot wait for '12. We have sufficient to impeach, I believe, or we will after a few months of investigations. An example must be made of these people, such that the generations to follow will see the warning, and never set foot upon the false path that led us so near disaster.

Even then, there are tasks before us. They have lied to us through the media, twisted the truth, told us up was down and right was wrong. We must find a new balance, preserving the true spirit of the First Amendment while reminding those who hijacked it that, indeed, with great power comes great responsibility--and with great abuses, great consequences.

They have corrupted our youth, our national memory, through the system that once educated our youth. This system must be reformed and cleansed, with even the slightest traces of our adversaries' influence assessed, addressed, and annulled.

They have co-opted the unelected machinery of government to serve their interests, and not the true needs of the people. We must clean the corrupt from those offices, reduce the ranks of the bureaucrats, and abolish forever the organizations that have grown like parasites on the agencies which are meant to serve the people, rather than themselves.

Finally, we must come to an understanding amongst ourselves. The old social contracts lie in tatters, shredded by the chains of those who would call themselves our betters; a new one must then be made, one that assures opportunity while never forcing result; one that reinforces what true common ground we have and celebrates what we all brought to the table, while creating no identity other than 'American'; one that makes it clear that the benefits of our society are open to all...but only if you make the effort to join it, renounce any other, and leave your old ways at the door.

There is much work to do, and it will not end in a victory this November, or two more hence. It was not a simple way that led us here--no, I take that back, it was simple, as simple as not caring to act. But it was not by one means we are now at the precipice, and we must act on many fronts to move back to solid footing.

I keep asking who has a plan. I ask for a reason. You must always understand that this is but one campaign in the larger war. Our immediate emphasis may be on the one battle, but we must start working on all fronts, to fight the many battles at once that must be won. You can't do that with tunnel vision, with myopic sight. You have to understand the task and plan how to achieve it.

We may yet fail. History is cluttered with the ruins of great nations. But this need not be our end, not yet. If we do what we can--what we must--and we act in proper vision, to paraphrase Churchill, this may yet be our finest hour.

The choice, my friends, is yours.

Don't blow it.

217 Thanks, Ace.

One last thought. I want the election to be so lop-sided that Katy Couric announces the results as tears run down her face, racoon eyes frightening enough to scare a hungry fox, as she contemplates the inevitable pink slip in her near future. I want the network she works for to consider the all-too-real possibility that they've been waving the wrong flag for the past twenty years and begin to clean house.

It's going to take one hell of a monumental pile-on to achieve, and you're one hell of an asset in the fight. But it's going to take everyone pushing in one clear direction, every last voter getting to the polls bright and early to push this failed experiment in creeping socialism back across the ocean where it belongs.

As you point out they will return just as they did after Carter. And they will return stronger than ever. Maybe in 30 years. Maybe in 3. We need to go further. We need to obliterate them.

After we crush their spirits and they have sunk into the depths of self-pity we need to hunt down every vital organ of the Left and eliminate it. With the power we gain through the next few elections and continued public activism we have to root out he cancer in society and remove it. Through vilification, education, whatever. We need even more fervor from the public to destroy the stranglehold socialism has on our schools, our churches, the unions, our paychecks, etc. Total war. Complete victory. Nothing short will save us.

248 Think back to your mental state in November '08 to say February '09
Honestly, it was conciliatory but not defeatist. I figured, Let's see what the new guy can do. For better or worse, Obama's the guy. Let's hope it's for better.
That lasted until March 2009. That's when Dodd et al double crossed the workers at AIG. These were regular, non-political people who were enticed to stay at a troubled company, whose livelihoods were protected by special words Senator Dodd added to the AIG bailout bill. Obama went along.
The nature of reality is that people are going to do stuff I disagree with -- parents, teachers, friends, bosses, whoever. But what these people did was unconscionable. "These people," by the way, are Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Andrew Cuomo and Richard Blumenthal. They have to go, and they have to be barred from public service forever.
Giving President Obama the generous benefit of a favorable doubt, he was just Dodd's stooge in all of this. But after hearing how smart he is all the time, I dismiss this as not bloody likely. So add Barack Obama to that list.
For me, personally, this is no longer red-state-versus-blue-state-stuff. This battle is borderline metaphysical, and I want to see 7-figure margins of defeat for these bastards.

I'm not going to lie: in any other year I might write in a canidate -- I come from a state that has made crappy, crooked elections for crappy, crooked politicians a habit. I wish it would stop, but I'm just one person. This year however it's different; there's just too much riding on this; the consequences are too high, and I don't like 'em. So it's vote and hope/work for the best, or deal with those awful consequences.
If there are others out there like me, well, you're not alone and this is what it does come down to. And yeah, I really do think America (and possibly the world) is riding on our winning this round and continuing to win. So it's time for American citizens to step up and show their quality...or consign our own selves to the dustbin of history.

262 okay I wont' ban black sheep one yet. I am getting ban-happy, and i don't want people to think I'm trippin on a purge (which, actually, I probably am).

But he annoys the shit out of me, and I'll make fun of this whiny bitch.

THis is like the third or fourth time he's appeared in two threads to announce he won't vote with us. How many times does he want to parade this around?

There is a theory about why "undecided" voters remain "undecided" until the last weekend -- even though they actually have decided. Frank Luntz makes this point -- when you ask them close questions, it's plain they have, for all intents and purposes, made up their mind. They are clearly on one side or the other.

But they keep whining they are "undecided." Why?

Because, Luntz' theory goes-- they like the attention. They like the flattery. And they enjoy the self-flattery of being people who wait until "all the facts are in" before announcing a decision they actually made when three facts were in, six months ago.

And I think this Black Sheep One's bid for attention. He wants people to beg, and plead, and give him the spotlight...

Dude, this is cold calling. I ask you if you're interested in an air conditioner; you say yes or no. You don't stay on the line wasting people's time because you're LONELY and just want to talk to a stranger selling you an air conditioner.

So keep whining, Black Sheep One, about how you are so very different and special and full of integrity and an enemy of compromise, and so how neither party could POSSIBLY cater to your unique, free-ranging, free-thinking political profile.

Yeah, there's a lot of people 'unique" just like you.

We call them "fence-sitting indecisive attention-whores."

264 Love these last 2 posts! I'm getting so excited for November!

Actually, I'm excited for Tuesday too. It's my first time voting in a Primary. But I really don't know who I'm going to vote for besides JD Hayworth, and Jan Brewer. Like for Corporation Commissioner, Superintendent of Public Schools, State Treasurer, etc. No clue. I don't know anything about who is representing me in the State Legislature either. It's shameful.

In the general I usually just vote for the R when it gets down-ticket and I don't know who any of the people are, but I obviously can't do that in the primary. I'm trying to research but....I don't know. It's like they all say the same thing as each other on their webpages so it doesn't really help me.

Should I just vote for Governor, Senator, and Rep, and leave the rest blank? Or is there anyone here from AZ that have thoughts about any of the candidates they want to share, or links to articles or debates that might help me decide? I'm in AZ congressional district 2, and legislative district 12, btw.

282 I said this before and I'll say it again. We not only need to beat them but destroy the left's false idols as well. Any bastard who relished in being an asshole these last two years needs to go down. Nancy Pelosi is safely protected in San Francisco, but Alan Grayson is a swing district. Alan Grayson needs to lose and lose badly. I want that son of a bitch to go down.

We need to absolutely demoralize these mother fuckers.

And on that note, if you haven't seen Jon Stewart's interview with Dick Armey regarding the Tea Party from earlier this week, go to the Daily Show website and watch it now. A reasonable person could argue that either side won the debate, but watch at how bitchy and personal Jon gets when he realizes Armey is making good points and Stewart can't just dismiss him. "You're all hat and no cattle".

Again, we need to destroy their false idols. For too long, we on the Right have also given Jon Stewart a pass. As one of the younger Ace of Spades readers, many of you underestimate the effect Stewart has on my generation. Many of the idiots in my generation really do get their sole source of news from Jon Stewart. It may be pathetic, but it's also reality.

Stop playing nice with Stewart. Go watch the interview and tell me Stewart isn't anything but a partisan hack. When confronted, he claims to just be a comedian. And when the smoke clears, he goes back to being a partisan hack.

Enough. Call Stewart out on this. Point out that when Stewart says he criticizes both sides, he criticizes Republicans for being conservative and criticizes Democrats for not being liberal enough. The theme is the same - the administration is not far left enough.

Don't play nice with Stewart anymore. We need to destroy ALL of the Left's false idols and fucking demoralize these mother fuckers.

I would go straight ticket on all races, yes, unless you have better information.

The fact is the parties are quite ideologically differentiated by now and party is 75% determinative of ideology (if not more).

People are running as Republicans or Democrats for reasons. It is not arbitrary.

Further, a shellacking in downticket races, stealing away their bases of local power, would destroy them, because they love hanging on to all the parts of government especially those which then determine the results of other races (for example, Secretary of State, Boards of Elections).

They are dilligent about fighting hard to keep these positions in friendly hands. They will exercise their power to cheat in close cases (and sometimes not so close).

It is important to repudiate them as thoroughly and completely as is humanly possible. There can be no silver linings for them.

287 Someone may already have said this but what's this "We were heartbroken" shit, Ace? I think you may have been in the Big Apple too long, or maybe emailing Andy Sullivan in the wee hours?

"Heartbroken?" All the guys I know were *pissed off* that there were so many dumbshit voters in this country. We were pissed that the MFM constantly sucks so much Dem cock, and we wanted to kill them and dissolve their bodies in acid and then piss in the vat. We were pissed that the gubmint-run schools taught so much liberal horse-shit and so little real history.

We were pissed that 52% of voters could be so stupid as to elect a guy who'd never run so much as a lemonade stand; who refused to let anyone outside his staff and fawning supporters see his purported birth certificate but got the MFM to say it was okay because...well, us reporters trust him so it's just fine.

But other than that, we pretty much agree with "Bear rips their stupid liberal faces off."

Those down ticket votes are important. Those are the ones that you really can influence with your one vote, and they are often ones that impact your life in immediate ways. And there's a buttload of entities that you don't even think about having influence over you, and spending your money.

Worse, in CA, these are non-partisan offices. You have no idea what their political outlook is, and it is almost impossible to find anything out about the candidates.

Posted by: XBradTC at August 19, 2010 07:30 PM (X0Ona)

296 Further, a shellacking in downticket races, stealing away their bases of local power, would destroy them, because they love hanging on to all the parts of government especially those which then determine the results of other races (for example, Secretary of State, Boards of Elections).

The House popular vote (a tabulation of the actual votes all around the country) and the generic ballot (an abstraction in the form of a poll) are not the same thing. .. and the difference usually tends to work to Democrats' detriment. Although analysts debate the precise magnitude of the difference, on average the generic ballot has overestimated the Democrats' performance in the popular vote by 3.4 points since 1992. If the pattern holds, that means that a 2.3-point deficit in generic ballot polls would translate to a 5.7 point deficit in the popular vote ..which works out to a loss of 51 seats. The short answer: not nearly as bad as it should be.

Of course, that scenario involves a lot of heads in baskets and jeering crowds. Even given the apathy and short memory of the average voter, I expect a bloodbath in November. Once again, I must marvel at the stupidity of the Democrats, and how it seems even greater than that of the Republicans. Unfortunately, we'll be trading one group of dumbfucks for another group of dumbfucks. No matter how bad he/she is, I'm voting for the new guy from Dog-catcher to Senator.

299 Simply taking back the House and picking upa half dozen seats in the Senate is not enough given what the 'rats have done to America under Obama, and beyond really. Anything short of a result along the linesof 60 and8 will have me thinking Americans have not learned enough. A pickup along the lines of 40 and5 will be PATHETIC.

feral cat, it's:

"My aim then was to whip the rebels, to humble their
pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and
dread us. 'Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.'"

--W.T. Sherman, describing his attitude in Savanna GA, Dec 1864

Vol. II, p. 249.

Comes from:

Ps 111:10 (NEB) The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and they who live by it grow in understanding...

Prov 9:10 (NEB) The first step to wisdom is the fear of the Lord, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding

Like Jackson, and almost all men of the day, Sherman was steeped in bible verses from infancy. Fear itself is not from wisdom, but fear based on understanding teh consequences of disobedience is.

I think it's an important distinction, because the American people are the sovereign power. Unless the politicians truly fear the electorate, we will have heaped upon us further tax burdens, further indignities (naked airport scans), and further loss of freedom.

We can shrug off the political class one of only two ways--ballot box or cartridge box. My point, not that you disagree, is to try the ballots first before we go full Sherman..

Yeah, well we can lament this fact until we're crying ourselves to sleep or we can do something about. I am of this generation, I'm surrounded by these people. I don't mean to sound too pollyanish because Bob McDonnell won the youth vote last year by a good margin, but overall, my generation tilts liberal.
Not because it's really thought these issues through, but because they watch Jon Stewart. Or their friend does and tells them about it. Stewart is the single source of news for some of these people. I've debated these people many times. I want to be very clear: they are as not intelligent, nor do they really have any convictions. They're soft liberals, because Jon Stewart has convinced them to be. Don't underestimate soft peer pressure. But it's just that, soft peer pressure.
For instance, when Stewart talks about Newscorp donated a million bucks to the Republican Governor Association and this is proof that they're in cahoots, point out to these people that Newscorp has actually donated more money to Democrats these past two years than Republicans. These idiots have no idea. And they're soft liberals and very persuadable. Confront them by pointing out things they've never heard. Because Jon Stewart never told them these things.
Destroy their false idols - I can't say this enough.

Exactly, the clown nose on clown nose off act is successful because we don't challenge it. It boils down to plausible deniability. When confronted with evidence that he's a liberal hack, Stewart claims he's a comedian and thus not "real news". Then when the dust clears, he goes back to being a partisan hack. Rinse, repeat.Stop playing this game. Confront Stewart with his bullshit. He's not our friend. Don't pretend that he is. He's an asshole - watch the Dick Armey interview and watch how nasty, pissy and personal he gets when he realizes he's losing the argument.

327 And DO NOT forget that this is a census year, so EVERY state and local election counts as well. The vote that you cast for your state legislator will determine how the district lines are redrawn. It won't do a bit of good to have an overwhelming National Congressional beat-down unless we are able to AT THE SAME TIME so infiltrate the state houses with enough Republicans to ensure electoral victories for the next 10 years.
Also, remember that over the past 37 years, Liberals have been "selectively reducing" their numbers through abortion, while Conservatives have been steadily increasing their numbers by having more and more kids per family. We did our part - we have 3 daughters eligible to vote in the 2010 election, and they are staunch conservatives. Every child over the age of 8 will be eligible to vote by the time 2020 rolls around. There are a lot more of "us" than there are of "them", and that trend is going to keep on going for a while.
So don't just vote for the national offices - pull the "R" lever for EVERY office. The future of this country depends on it.....

In late 2008, someone told me how glad she was that Bush was leaving. She said that she'd heard that Cheney had access or proximity to where the country's official time was kept, that that worried her -- because the official time is something that we rarely think about but it's important. She said she'd heard this on public radio, or something like that. She seemed genuinely distressed.

But the point is that it is quite possible that if Barack Obama and the
Democrats had been a little more cautious and hadn't been so hatefully
dismissive of majority opinion, our anger never would have turned to
fire and we might have remained meekly on the floor, defeated, beaten,
dead.

They took our *our* defeat to mean the bear was gone, that America had finally accepted Socialism, despite having to run campaigns denying their belief in it.
That's what they thought, the bear was gone, harmless, rendered domesticated. Then proceeded to poke us in the eye.
Or they just saw this as the best chance they would have for a generation and ran it for all they could, consequences be dammed.
Either way, they did stimulus, they did tarp, mortgage cram down, people became disenchanted at the big government they did not want. And then Rick Santelli through that match.

348 Strategy:
If you live in a state that still has not yet had its primary, help Get Out The Vote for one or more of the candidates of your choice. Contact their campaign. Drag your conservative friends with you. Do whatever tasks the campaigns say you should help with. If it's phone banking, make the calls. If it's going door-to-door to targeted voters who don't normally vote in the primary, do it. If it's putting up signs or just stuffing envelopes, do it.
After the primary, pivot, if needed, to the Republican primary winners. Help GOTV for the candidates who won by working with their campaigns. Also, find your local GOP committee and help there. Your goal should be becoming a precinct committeeman in the Party so you can vote for the leadership of the Party and help make sure the BEST conservative candidates win the primary elections in the 2012 elections. Precinct committeemen, and ONLY precinct committeemen, can vote in the internal party leadership elections.

354 >>>won't it affect my stock in tar and pitchfork companies?

At this point there is no avoiding a fiscal disaster. It's just a matter of how quickly we want to get there. If that is the case, then the quicker the better, more spending and borrowing, until the whole economy really crashes, then maybe we would see real reform. The only problem is how bad would the crash be, would it pose an existential threat to the country?

The last time we saw a complete fiscal crash in America it led to the fucking new deal. The only change we can hope for is, eventually, revolution. But by then it may be too late to rein in big government via force. A true crash would probably result in hundreds of millions of deaths around the world. Republicans only seem to discover their fiscal restraint when they can restrain a Democrat.

365 Tolkien said it well:

I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me.

A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our
friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day.

An hour of wolfes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes
crushing down! But it is not this day!

THIS DAY WE FIGHT!

By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of
the West!"

373 This indeed is the most important election in my memory, and I remember Truman, and the death of Roosevelt. How important is it? Just ask the elites , John McCain knows, he just spent 20 million on a primary campaign. The elites are in both parties, and are very afraid of us, they know that if we turn out and vote that we can and will take back this great country. VOTE and VOTE again.

374 I remember a lot of people being heartbroken. A lot of people just stopped reading about politics-- they couldn't bear it.

But then I started hearing about the Tea Parties and I realized that I wasn't along, just like you said, Ace. I also tuned out after ObamaCare passed for quite some time-- just could. not. watch.

That means the Ike Skelton's.
That means the ID-1s, the UT-3(?)s, the WA-2's.
ANY district that has a PVI of D+6 or less is for grabs if the Generic ballot is R+6
There are TWO HUNDRED AND NINETY-NINE SEATS that are up for the taking.

There are 240 that are at least R+1.
So to jump 62 seats is the MINIMUM.

378 I agree with what Ace wrote in the post above, but I think he missed something.

Obama ran, with the help of the press, as a leftist to the leftists, but as a post-partisan wound-healer to the big muddled center. He was able to be all things to all people.

Whoever the Dems run in 2016 is probably going to run the same way.

Long term, we need ways to counteract their amazing ability to be two-faced.

brokenhearted that "we lost," but because I could not bear watching the
systematic suicide of the nation.

One of the things that got me right after the election, is that you saw many people with basically no knowledge of politics in general or Obama in particular celebrating because of the color of the skin of the man just elected to the presidency.

And I remember thinking, this is a triumph in America? That we elected a black man president, because of the color of his skin, not the content of his character? And I remember even a number of people on the right mouthing the same platitudes.

I never fully turned away from politics, but it did sour me on the process...

Rachel's penis rots off and she melts into a puddle when they declare Wisconsin, California, and Washington as all too close to call with small GOP leads.

Keef explodes and takes out the MSNBC headquarters (the mens restroom A-32 in Building # 23 in Rockefeller Center's basement) when Johnson gets declared AND McMahon gets declared and the GOP wins the Senate.

The greatest event, however, happens the next day.
Rick Sanchez is on when the numbers come in for Rossi and Fiorina.
SENATORS Rossi and Fiorina.

He starts shaking, quivering, and his skin starts to unzip. He reveals his true form- an enormous, white ghost-beast. CNN viewers run out of Atlanta just in time to watch CNN's headquarters implode into itself, as Ted Turner just keeps shouting "why didnt I move the graves with the headstones!"

407 One More Rah-Rah: When The Bear Is Poked, The Bear Must Attack, Or Else It Will Become a PetI liked the way Christopher Walken, as Uncle Mike, stated this in "Poolhall Junkies":
You watch those nature documentaries on the cable? You see the one about
lions? You got this lion. He's the king of the jungle, huge mane out to
here. He's laying under a tree, in the middle of Africa. He's so big,
it's so hot. He doesn't want to move. Now the little lions come, they
start messing with him. Biting his tail, biting his ears. He doesn't do
anything. The lioness, she starts messing with him. Coming over, making
trouble. Still nothing. Now the other animals, they notice this. They
start to move in. The jackals; hyenas. They're barking at him, laughing
at him. They nip his toes, and eat the food that's in his domain. They
do this, then they get closer and closer, bolder and bolder. Till one
day, that lion gets up and tears the shit out of everybody. Runs like
the wind, eats everything in his path. Cause every once in a while, the
lion has to show the jackals, who he is.

439 O/T but another reason we need to beat these Democrats to a bloody pulp. The Boston Herald is reporting the following details about the Obama vacation:
Last minute preparations were underway yesterday for the big arrival. We hear Blue Heron Farm was ready to go under lockdown, and a giant cargo plane carrying staff, equipment and vehicles for the presidents visit was unloaded at the airport. A Marine helicopter carrying three bicycles was also spotted

We need this victory in November to be so resounding so brutally devastating that arrogant, ruling class Blue Blood is spilled into the street. (Not a coincidence that the Dems are blue). We need the ruling class (and that includes liberal Republicans who want to be part of the "cool" kids) to hear us loudly and unequivocally. We need to win this election in a big way so that Barry and his stooges are sent packing.

I submit that instead Dems will become even more radicalized, angry and petulant. They will double down on the lefty lunacy that got them thrown out of office in the fiurst place.
This is because the only Dems left in 2011 will be those from Deep Blue districts: Pelosi, Waxman, Jackson-Lee, Weiner, Nadler, etc. In other words, the very worst and most profoundly destructive members of the Democratic Party.

just did one of their 30 on 30 specials on that series. It was epic.
Watching Ewing miss the game tying shot, and the damn thing was a
lay-up. Biggest Choke Ever.even bigger than (here I break my own

I will never forget that game... EVER. Indy had a headline.. "here come the knicks.." (we are polite here) then NYC had here come the Hicks and the Pacers were on the beverly hillbilly car. arrrgh.Spike Lee was taunting Reggie Miller and he , right in front of his home crowd, shut him the hell up. Awesome. It was fantastic. Greatest F U in Indiana history.... well, until November.

I hope that's true for our side. I hope the other side isn't so energized and motivated. I can already hear what the MFM will say if the Republicans win huge with huge numbers of Republican/independents turning out for them.
"Well obviously there is some kind of fraud or malfeasance going on here, because we didn't seenumbers like that in our last presidential election. Once again, the Diebold Cabal handed yetanother victory to the Republicans. Nancy Pelosi promises a quick and thoroughinvestigation to the blatant electoral theft that has just transpired. 548 I wasn't born in 1980.
I was too young in 1994 to vote.
I grew up under Clinton and Bush, voted for Bush in 2004, voted for AHnold in 2006, voted for McCain with an eh feeling in 2008.

To say I am pumped for November is an enormous understatement.

If you are to decimate your enemy, you must DIVIDE your enemy. I know "Democratic groups" INFURIATED over Bell and the Obama visit in LA.

STAY ON IT.

The poor vote Democratic?
Remind them who GUTTED food stamps for them in favor of pension fattening for overpaid state workers.

The hispanics voting Democratic?
remind them what Bell did to their fellow hispanics in one of the poorest neighborhoods in California.

Us V Them is one of the strongest and most unifying forces in the universe.

I cannot tell you how many "reliably Democratic" voters I know that are excited to vote in November.
For the Republican.

Few people are immune to doubt.
Plant the idea that their party has abandoned them.
Show them where they have DIRECTLY, in their neighborhoods.
Use the things locally angering them against their current thinking.

Sure, maybe only 1 in 20 might be swayed.
Not a huge deal right?
Step back and look at what would happen if you flipped just 5% of the local vote throughout California, or Illinois, or Connecticut.
Fiorina ends up winning by 2-3 pts.
Kirk wins by 2-3 pts.
McMahon wins by hundreds of votes.

People who are angry, people who are starved, people who are disillusioned, these are the people the Democrats fear even more than us. If even a tiny portion locally break from the reservation... in a race where they have already LOST the indies...they cannot recover.

We have united.
We have drawn the Indies.
We fracture the party ITSELF, even by a little...
they are done.

But they keep whining they are "undecided." Why?

Because, Luntz' theory goes-- they like the attention. They like the flattery.

That, and they want to be on one of those panels who watch / listen to the debates and play with their little thumb masturbation wheelies that record their pleasure / displeasure at whatever Candidate Fucktard just said. They live for the post-event yackfest when they can point out how profound is their thinking and why they have not quite decided, just yet, for whom they will vote. Attention whores to the very end, and sad sacks in their daily lives.

607 Pittsburgh PenguinsHockey Jerseys always the world one that took his first strides on the rink his dad made for him in the backyard, to one of the greatest athletes in the history of professional sports. Notice that I said any sport, not only one of the greatest in hockey.
Since he was quite small as a kid and never really grow enough to look like a hockey player, Wayne relied on his smartness. He became a decent skater, but what separated him from the crowd was his ability to look one step ahead of everyone else. It didnt even help that many opponents put two guys on him as shadows.
Chicago Blackhawks was just too smart for them. If someone rimmed the puck along the board, Wayne was in the other corner to pick up the puck before anyone else even had understood that the puck was going there.
Put on a cheap Hockey jerseys that feeling is really good.
