Michael Bloomberg: Yeah, I Figure This Bombing Was Attempted By A Teabagger Who Didn't Like the Health Care Bill

As noted below (and more at this link), the man who bought the Nissan Pathfinder has been identified, and he's a naturalized Pakistani.

Bloomberg has a hunch, though:

"If I had to guess 25 cents, this would be exactly that. Homegrown, or maybe a mentally deranged person, or somebody with a political agenda that doesn't like the health care bill or something. It could be anything," he said.

9 Good thing the idiot mayor of NYC only bet 25 cents, and that his business prowess isn't as bad as his betting. What a tool. But it seems like NYC deserves him.

Unless he's right, and the Pakistanis don't like Obamacare.

10 Keeping in mind that Michael Bloomberg is a card-carrying member in good standing of the Republican Party - and uses our donations to fund his political campaigns - is it any wonder that he's ready to blame a racist Tea Partier for this obvious act of conservative terrorism?

Tell me again Ace, why I should donate my hard-earned money to the Republicna Party again.

11 Bloomberg is a miserable little shit.

It's been gruesome watching the media try and spin the narrative for this one, huh?

Posted by: UGAdawg at May 03, 2010 08:02 PM (/VjHB)

12 What a piece of shit.

It's been amazing watch the left hope and hope and hope that some Tea Partiers will get violent.

It's only a matter of time before someone fakes violence in the Tea Party's name. Bloomberg's attack is particularly vicious. Accusing the anti obamacare movement of this is simply violence itself. All those kooks calling Geico, all those DU posters claiming Stack was a conservative, all those idiots on DailyKOS today swearing this terrorist was 'bubba teabagger'... it's fucking insane.

And apparently the terrorists WANT you to think this is American conservatives. This is helping them attack us. The left talks about sedition... but they don't mind playing this sick game if it benefits their side. 'their side', which wanted the US economy to fail under Bush, wanted Iraq to fail under Bush, wants violent attacks to characterize their ideological opposition.

It's time to demand Bloomberg resign for his hate speech.

24 Under Clinton, we saw repeated Al Qaida attacks laughed off and a partisan interest in finding domestic terrorists to use as some kind of political triangulation. Somehow, Clinton managed to taint the right with kooks that had nothing to do with Rush or the GOP. So he kept hunting for those kooks.

Bloomberg's doing the same thing. And since our limited resources are hunting down US Veterans and granny Tea Partiers, they are unable to catch a giant fucking bomb being watched by the RevolutionIslam.com owner a couple weeks after a violent threat was made.

That's why 9/11 is something Clinton should be ashamed of. That's why this Nissan is something Bloomberg owns. They are deliberatly steering focus away from real security issues in order to make points in some stupid political game. No one believes in these domestic kooks. But if you ignore them, you're missing a valuable opportunity to Alinksi the debate by focusing on the most ugly.

Yeah, Amazon's really going to love processing 20 million 1099s.

And on topic, the spineless, gutless fear that liberals experience when faced with people (in this case, Islamofascists) who might actually hurt them is amazing. You can tell they are not really afraid of Tea Partiers, militias, etc, or they'd be wetting their pants and offering to appease them.
If we ever get into another real shooting war, liberals'll be signing up as "conscientious objectors" at the speed of light. And as long as being registered as a "conscientious objector" means you lose the right to vote (as it should) then I'm all for that, actually.

I don't know if you're quoting somebody, but I'd be quick to point out that the followers of the so called "god" of Mohammed are not all Arabs. The problem is not with the race but rather with the ideology- regardless of who practices it..

I'm too tired and marginally plastered to get into it in detail here, but IMHO Islam is not so much a religion as it is a mockery of religion. It all starts with the observation that someone (I can't remember who) made that "My G*d sent his Son to die for me, but the "god" of Mohammed wants me to send my son to die for him." Once you start building from that little observation it doesn't take long to reach some very troubling conclusions about who this "god of Mohammed" really is and what we are fighting against.

All general officers above two-star rank are political animals. ALL of them. Two stars is division command-level, which is about where the meritocracy stops in the Army.

Occasionally, you'll get a fire-pisser at the Corps level, like Fred Funk in Desert Storm. But if you want four stars, you've definitely sucked your share of not only superior officer cock, but Senatorial cock, who confirms their commissions in the first place.

Master Phuq: Why do you enter my sactuary, child?
raykon: I seek wisdom, Master.
Master Phuq: Sit before me and tell me what sort of wisdom you seek from an old man.
raykon: I wish to gain wisdom in the ways of conservatives, that I may troll them and render them helpless before me.
Master Phuq: And this you cannot do now?
raykon: Alas, Master, my trolls are weak and without bite. I blubber and rant like a lunatic or a small child. All mock me and I am humiliated.
Master Phuq: Ah, I see. Hold out your hand, young one.
[Raykon holds out his hand and Phuq Yoo spits a huge green chunk of lung-butter into it.]
raykon: You loogied on my hand, you old bastard!
Master Phuq: You have learned your first lesson, young one: you are gullible, and easily led. I asked you to put out your hand, and you did so. A wise man would have asked, "What for?" Thus you have a booger in your hand.
raykon: (raykon nods his head humbly, and is enlightened) Tell me more, Master Phuq.
Master Phuq: Quickly and without dwelling on what you're going to say, tell me how many times you have masturbated today.
raykon: Five! I mean...none! I mean-- Hey!
Master Phuq: You have learned your second lesson, child. Do not speak without thinking.
raykon: (raykon is enlightened.) Tell me more, Master Phuq. My mind is a sponge and awaits the water of your wisdom.
Master Phuq: Is your aim to humiliate and defeat your enemies?
raykon: Yes, yes! I...I dream of their cries of shame, Master. I dream that they call my name, and wonder at my intelligence and cutting wit.
Master Phuq: Ah, then you do not wish for their defeat but only for your own advancement. A warrior wins when he defeats his enemy, not when he glorfies himself. Consider the palm of your hand, child.
raykon: (holds his palm to his face)
Master Phuq: (Suddenly leans forward and mashes raykons hand into his own face) Quit hitting yourself! Quit hitting yourself!
raykon: (embarassed, confused, and angry) Was that another lesson, Master Phuq?
Master Phuq: Naw, I'm just yanking your chain now. Dojo closes in five minues so you need to haul ass. And tell your friends if they ask that when you needed help, you got a big Phuq Yoo.

Posted by: curious at May 03, 2010 08:48 PM (p302b)

143 This happened on Bloomberg's watch. He failed to protect his city. His administration granted a permit to the RevolutionIslam.com terrorist that was overlooking the Viacom building. Bloomberg realizes this makes the attack Bloomberg's fault. He should have had cops scrutinizing the area that the Viacom threatening thugs were occupying, but instead, the bomb was deployed and would have killed hundreds but for sheer luck.

So Bloomberg needs to play the spin game and hope it's never really resolved who laid the attack out. Perhaps the DOJ will just keep things classified. Perhaps they already have the terrorist and have extradited him to some other country, and will simply keep their mouths shut.

Whatever. That game fails. Bloomberg's insane focus on the Tea Party types is steering the resources his city needs to be safe away from the real threats. He's begging for more federal money, so maybe he doesn't mind if there is a greater risk and more pork. Meanwhile, he's demonizing Arizona for protecting itself with frankness and honesty.

New Yorkers: if you want to be safe, you need to get rid of these game player politicians and get back to a Rudy style mayor. NYC is a place that needs real leadership that attempts to run on success... Bloomberg attempts to run by spinning his failures onto ideological opponents. That's scary shit.

Remember: they didn't stop this bomb even though they granted a simultaneous protest permit, right in Times Square, right then and there, to RevolutionIslam.com, the website that promised to kill Times Square's Viacom a couple weeks ago.

We can worry about needledicks like Someguy, or we can realize that the GOP needs to replace democrats like Bloomberg ASAP.

171 Just finished watching that '97 HBO movie "Path to Paradise" on YouTube, about the '93 WTC bombing. I had forgotten about the ending, when the actor playing Ramzi Yousef turned to the World Trade Center towers and said "Next time I will bring them both down." He didn't, but his buddies sure did.

It's a surprisingly decent documentary, with some inadequacies and inaccuracies. But it's not an easy watch. One sees how inept these terrorists were and how they could have been caught way before the bombing, and additionally, all that footage is interspersed with video of the WTC towers still standing. If The Path to 9/11 is ever released, the Path to Paradise needs to be released as it's companion.

17 years after the first WTC bombing and 9 years after 9/11, and idiots like Bloomberg still don't get the point about Muslim terrorism. Fuck them all. /I'm done for the night, kids.

176 Senient Nintendo, that may be the single most damning example of their idiocy in this whole event: They gave RevolutionMuslim a permit to dawah all the day 2 blocks from Viacom, and RevMus proceeded to videotape themselves doing just that. And if that bomb had gone off and RevMus got a video of themselves celebrating the event in situ, just how would Bloomberg have explained away that away I wonder?

177 Off topic but here's Barry's latest gem:

WASHINGTON The United States has 5,113 nuclear warheads in its stockpile and "several thousand" more retired warheads awaiting the junkpile, the Pentagon said Monday in an unprecedented accounting of a secretive arsenal born in the Cold War and now shrinking rapidly.
The
Obama administration disclosed the size of its atomic stockpile going
back to 1962 as part of a campaign to get other nuclear nations to be
more forthcoming, and to improve its bargaining position against the
prospect of a nuclear Iran.
Barry is a goddamn traitor. There's no other excuse for this asshole

183 Well, since I may not make the ONT, I've never taken Ambien until last night. D'oh had some he takes occasionally, and has never had a problem.

We watched The Pacific, and I was exhausted but still wired from the trip to and from taking our boy to ATL and seeing him off for his duty station, and eventually Afghanistan.

I took the Ambien, and woke up late this morning. I always carry a glass of water to bed. I look at the beside table, and there's this strange cup I never use. Get out of bed, and as I walk down the hall toward the kitchen, spot several full glasses of water in the entry way, living room, family room, dining room and kitchen.

Then, I go to feed the two cats. Only one shows up. I think, Jeebus, don't let a cat be dead. D'oh Boy actually mentioned he hoped they'd live long enough for him to see them again. I look toward the screened porch, and there's one that's been locked out all night.

Later in the day, I'm wondering why the main area of the house is so hot? Just had the systems checked last week. I go to the main living area thermostat, and the air is off.

Someguy is already attempting to pretend to be conservative and insane, but the RevolutionIslam.com guy, who was taping the Viacom building when the bomb was supposed to go off, was not actually shouting about Islam at all. For some reason, he was shouting stuff about how Obama's government is too big. He's a democrat, in other words, pretending to be a Tea Partier while also serving out his Jihad. I hate that our country has gotten to this point. But we'll see worse examples. Imagine if Joseph Stack had been more clever in his attempt to harm capitalism. He could have put a Sarah Palin book in his plane and left a facebook comment pretending to support the Tea Party. Someone out there is insane enough to do just that.Mobying is now something everyone is familiar with. Osama loaded up his 9/11 hijacker party with Saudis so that the US would destabilize Saudi Arabia. I realize Bloomberg isn't crazy enough to want to help the jihadists, but it's disgusting that they both are pretending this is about Obamacare just to shut up conservatives. When someone takes that idea of sliming the right to the next level, and actually kills people while pretending to be a conservative, I hope the country understands who to actually blame.I'm not all that confident, though.

216 HeatherRadish: perhaps yours was a rhetorical question, but in my opinion no single author adequately covers all three pre-Islamic Persian empires (Achaemenid, Parthian, and Sassanid). A.T. Olmstead, however, is very good on Zoroaster (Zartosht) and the Achaemenid period. The Cambridge History of Iran is also good, and multiple authors cover all three periods, if you can afford the books (they aren't cheap).

IMHO, it was a bad day when the Iranians traded Zoroastrianism for Islam. I've known several Zoroastrians, and they are charming and intelligent and their religion is quite respectable. Now they are a persecuted minority in the country of their origin.

But a new and vastly different picture of the Al Qaeda leader's life has

Follows civilization from the end of the Wurm Ice Age through the Sack of Rome - does not dilly dally with trivial nations in world history (even apologizes for early coverage of Hebrews as it really becomes relevant a thousand years later).

Follows Mesopotamia, the Nile, and India and China to the extent the later two were linked to the Fertile Crescent. Follows the Eastern Med, Greece, and Rome, with ref to Persia and further east as relevant.

Arabia is an empty nothing but a named void on the map.

i'll tell you this, as repugnant a thought as it is, but al qaeda made a huge tactical mistake when they hit the world trade center. had they only hit the pentagon and cia hq (& perhaps the bush white house) 3/4 of new yorkers would have been understanding and supportive to some degree.

259 Jane, I took melatonin and need to get to sleep, but I thought I'd tell you my Ambien experience before I toddle off. I took it precisely ONE time and that was it. The nightmares were epic. Dark, dark, evil, satanic stuff. Never again.
Damnit. I really wanted to see the ONT, but Blazer started busting on Maet for putting up the ONTs early, like a "seniors' Early Bird Special," so Maet's now got to be hip and post later. Sigh. Catch you 'ronsanother night.

262 RushBabe, hope you catch this before you go. I don't precisely remember my dreams last night on Ambien, but I woke up feeling really troubled and sad (had a lot to do with saying goodbye to our boy, but still). And there is nothing more disturbing to me than finding all kinds of random shit that I've gotten up during the night and done that I have no memory of.

No more Ambien for me. Ever.

270 Bloomberg understands what terrorism looks like. He's been causing it. He laid off most of the NYFD's arson investigators. Now arson is through the roof in the gentrifying neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens as property owners torch their buildings to sell the lots. It's gotten so blatant they've been giving the tenants notice as to when to leave their apartments before the burn date.

destabilize Saudi Arabia.

Rather than that, I think many radical Islamists move to oil-rich Muslim countries, so they can collect welfare. Since Saudis export Wahabiism, it doesn't seem like they mind. They had Saudi passports, but they were likely first generation.

273 ``Without reading 270 comments here, didn't Bloomberg switch from democrat to republican to run for mayor in the first place?''

Yes, he did.

And Nighthawk said, up the thread somewhere:

``IMHO Islam is not so much a religion as it is a mockery of religion.''

It's a great religion if you're a sociopathic 16-year-old boy. Free rapes for the guys, burqas and stoning for women, and God as the Great Brothelkeeper in the sky.
