The president’s administration vows topreventallnew offshore drilling until investigations of the accident are complete – and possibly indefinitely.
Now if we on the Right operated with the same mindset about our political opponents that the left did during the Bush years, we’d be arguing that the Obama regime was secretly responsible for the destruction of the Deepwater Horizon rig and the deaths of 11 members of its crew – indeed, that Barack Obama had the rig blown up in order to get the energy policy he and his supporters wanted while at the same time gaining the political benefit of having (temporarily) loosened the drilling restrictions in a manner proposed by his opponents during the 2008 political campaign.
But, of course, we aren’t – despite the facts fitting such a sabotage scenario much better than was the case with the 9/11 Truthers (or Trig Truthers like Andrew Sullivan)..
Just saying.
