Right Wing Violence: Republican House Leader's Campaign Office SHOT At Update: Cantor Viceo And Republican Congresswoman Recives Voice Mail Threat

The narrative takes a hit.

Republican Rep. Eric Cantor's Richmond campaign office was shot at Wednesday night, Fox News has learned, the latest in a rash of apparent threats and acts of intimidation against members of Congress.

Most of the threats so far have been reported by Democrats, but Cantor -- the No. 2 Republican in the House -- is one of about 10 lawmakers who has asked for increased security protection, Fox News has learned. As a member of the House leadership, U.S. Capitol Police already provide Cantor with a security detail around the clock, but he has asked for more security.

As House Republican whip, Cantor is the highest elected Jewish politician in the country.

The story says it was last night but on air, FNC just said it was Monday night.

Just a reminder about the DNC's history of Jew baiting when it comes to Cantor.

So, will the media ignore this and stick with their "Tea Baggers" are dangerous line or just drop the whole thing, what with the inconvenient fact that the most dangerous thing to happen so far was aimed at a Republican?

I'm sure the Jurnolist is ablaze trying to figure out the party line at this very moment.

Update: Congresswoman Jean Schmidt of OH receives a lovely call. Doesn't sound like the caller is your average Sarah Palin voter.

Below the fold, video of Cantor's statement.

Most likely the "threats" against the Dems are the same as the spiting and racial slurs against them this weekend. IOW fictitious.

If the real "right wing" people ever decide it is time to go after the commies there will be no "threats". Smart people understand it is stupid to make "threats" and advertise your intentions.

Presuming the threats the DNC and the State Media are claiming against Democrat office holders are true, I guess we see the clear difference between the current right and left.

Disgruntled members of the former make idle threats, groups of the latter shoot people, fly into buildings, and bite off fingers.

Neither of the leftist scum were held to account, either, even though the finger biter was caught on video walking away .... scot-free to this day.

Now, The Precedent and his dem junta accuse the Tea Partiers of being racist and violent and what do we get? A gunshot at Cantor's office.

These leftist scum are trying to push the US to a civil war as much as they can. Of course, The Precedent never wanted to do anything else. He always intended to do nothing but sow chaos in our nation - as every single one of his policies and statements has been directed towards doing.

Do you really not know why? This has been obvious from before the Indonesian Imbecile even took office. He sees himself as the avenging angel brought to wreak havoc and destroy the US and the West and the white guilters are with him 1000%, as they view their own destruction as paying the ultimate pennance for their illusory guilt.Nov 4th, 2008 was a declaration of national suicide - prompted in good measure by the psychotic break that the American public experienced from the credit crisis. Now we just get to see it all played out.

94 Damn. This Cantor guy sounds like a British Tory from 1774...

I thought you guys wanted republicans who have balls?

How about if Cantor were to say, "I'm going to find out who did this, I'm going to track him down and I'm going kill the cowardly bastard before he has another chance to try to kill me. If the cops find him first, I'll make sure he's tried and imprisoned."

Of course, we only like our heroes when they're safely dead...otherwise, we want corrupt and weak leaders, so that we don't feel threatened by them. btw...how's that workin' out for you folks?

95 Can't you morons see that this is just the actions of some of those stupid teabaggers trying to throw us off the trail by making it appear as if this is happening to both sides. those idiot teabaggers know they're in trouble, and need some sympathy, and are probably acting on orders from Darth Cheney or that magnificant bastard Rove.

96 Sarah Palin has been threatened with rape, hanged in effigy, publicly called a cunt, and had her church burned down with people inside it. I'm guessing she probably gets more death threats in a week than all these Dimocrap congresspukes have had in their combined careers. The media and leftards are to blame because of their nonstop defamation of her. But I don't hear her whining about it.

I was just trying to explain this to one of my intelligent, conservative coworkers. What she got out of it is that Democrats and Republicans are shooting each other. I'm going to calmly try to explain to her that it's not Republicans doing the shooting.

102 Speaking of violence and biting of fingers, what ever came out of that incidence? The the biter get charged and go up the river?

I don't know how it goes for the State that happened in but here that would have been aggravating assault with a "maiming". That is a severe felony and someone would do some hard time for that.

The locals claimed (last I heard) that they couldn't figure out who the guy was, even though he was on video.

As to the SEIU thugs who beat the crap out of Gladney, even getting the DA to file charges was like pulling teeth and I think that they only filed minimal charges eventually.

But this is all no surprise, as no one from Ohio suffered much for their insane abuse of governmental power in going after Joe the Plumber and publicizing his private information to the world, along with trying to sic state government on him, as much as they could. People should be sitting in jail for many years for that (especially as it was meant to taint elections, in the process) but I don't think anyone ended up behind bars. I'm not sure everyone even got fired.

108 That's my real name, Mallamutt, you anonymous coward. That surname can be reliably traced to 1710 and the Palatine Immigration. It can be found in the NY colonial militia in 1715, in the Revolutionary war, the civil war , WWI, WWII and every conflict from 1710 to the present. In every field and discipline in America, from cooks to scullery maids to three star generals and foreign policy, you will fins that surname. That's my family. ...and they aren't a product of anyone's imagination. ...you anonymous pussy. You Coward.

Read your history. Read the letters and papers by the Tories in 1774.

Someone in the DA's office should be fired and prosecuted for that. Think about it this way. Suppose that had been an elderly black guy in Alabama and a white neonazi had done that. If the DA did not prosecute the feds would have stepped in a called a hate crime and prosecuted.

116 Warren, dude, no one likes violence more than me, but suggesting a pol go on tv and say he's gonna go pump lead in whoever shot at his office isnt being strong. That's nuts. I can agree that we prefer our elected officials weak, I don't, but I am in the minority. However, there is a world of difference between shooting at an empty building to progressing to actually shooting at a live person. That's not like Chesty Puller, that's John Hinkley territory.

118 Why did it take so long to report this? MAybe because it took place quite awhile ago and had nothing to do with any 'aggressive actions' from Libs- or is that too hard to fathom?
So- it turns out that:
There was NO shooting at Cantor's office- which is in the VA 7th district, not his 3rd, nor even listed on his website; and not even in his office but rather in a conference room for ANOTHER office in the same building- but why quibble about such trivial facts?- based on what the Richmond Police Department's report said:
The bullet that hit U.S. Rep. Eric Cantor's campaign office in downtown Richmond early Tuesday was random, Richmond police spokesman Gene Lepley said this morning.
"It is a stray bullet as part of random gunfire," Lepley said. Police said they have no suspects.
Cantor's office declined comment.
The bullet came from a downward angle, broke the window pane, and landed near the blinds on the window it broke. And seeing as how this office isn;t even listed anywhere in Cantor's website or congressional contact database- wouldnt that make this a poor choice of targets?
Can't we at least expect a higher level of honesty from our politicians- REGARDLESS of which side of the aisle?
And when can we expects a correction, Ace? Yup- thought so....
