Whoa: Chris Matthews' Ratings Fall Below Level of Largest Bloggers

How the flighty have fallen.

At least in the 25-54 demographic... yesterday, his ratings were...

58,000.

Chris Matthews has been a mainstay of the MSNBC line-up for years, but December is shaping up to be one his worst months compared to the rest of the cable news landscape.
Matthews had his worst week in 2009 last week in the A25-54 demographic for his 5pmET live airing, averaging 88,000 viewers, according to Nielsen data. The previous week, he had his 2nd worst week, averaging 99,000.

I don't pull those kinds of numbers, myself. I get that in a full day, which is an apples-to-orange comparison, because really my numbers are 10-20,000 people coming back multiple times.

But a larger blogger? 58,000 is a lot of hits in an hour, no doubt. But... I think there are bloggers that can put those numbers up from time to time.

In somewhat related news, some Time reporter just told Chris Matthews the Democrats are digging up dirt on turncoat Griffith -- in order, he speculated, to scare hell out of other people thinking of doing the same thing.

I figured I'd help get the word out, because, God knows, practically no one saw him say this on Chris Matthews.

Question: Does this mean bloggers will stop going on Chris Matthews for exposure, and Chris Matthews will start underblogging for Andrew Sullivan to get ratings?

The only way people know about Ace-of-Spades is because they found it or were referred to it. And sure we come in and out all day,,, because we can, and we want to. You don't count the number of people in the front row of a large theater to compare to a smaller theater just because those are the same number of seats. When people have more room or more time, they use it. So sure your density will be lower than his for a one hour period, but that is because we don't all have to wait for a specific hour to read the offerings.

One guest made a really good argument for an invasion and overthrow without the WMD disscussion--Saddam was shooting and murdering his own people, genocide on the marsh Arabs, trying to shoot down our planes constantly; tried to invade Kuwait a second time; was funding terror, had not kept one commitment from the first Gulf War peace deal etc.
Chrissy started screaming at him and spitting all over his suit. When the audience applauded the guest Chrissy turned abruptly and started screaming at them. I knew right then that he was mentally ill and on drugs. Nobody normal acts like that.
