| Rep. Griffith: Hey, I Just Noticed the Party I've Belonged To My Whole Life Is Sort of Liberal 'n StuffEhh... Still nice to hear him go all Zell Miller (or at least partial Zell Miller). But let's face it, this is a load of crap. But: still good to hear. Hooboy: Griffiths said this:I think America's greatest enemy is America and its materialism. And I think that we have nothing to fear from radical Islam. We have nothing to fear from any other religion if we are strong on our own beliefs. I don't fear radical Islam.Ummm.... okay bye-bye now. What he's doing there is the standard leftist boilerplate which explains that those on the left are too brave, and too confident in America, to have to fear radical Islam, like those pants-wetting conservatives do. It's a lot of crap used to defend a posture of calculated indifference on jihadism. Comments1

Why? His district is more conservative than him. He'll pick up the GOP endorsement now. In theory, a more conservative republican could have won in 2010 there. So, instead you'll get a moderate R who is a former D, instead of a conservative R. What exactly does this accomplish? Beyond a symbolic victory (re: useless) for the GOP? I think transgendered storm troopers acting as agent provocateurs might have pushed his shitover the edge.
http://tiny.cc/FFwKF The gay, lesbian and transgender protest group Denver Bash Back characterized Schwenkler as one of its "friends and comrades." Initially, Democratic Party officials blamed conservative opponents of health care reform for stoking animosity directed at Democrats. Then it became known that Schwenkler had previously worked for a Democratic candidate. Conservatives characterized the attack as an attempt to frame Republicans with the blame. Bash Back protested the Republican and Democratic national conventions last year. Posted by: Jim in San Diego at December 22, 2009 04:41 PM (F09Uo) 8

To further the point, he broke on HC and switched at a time when Rahm is trying to force crap down the D's throat. This is the tipping point where you know who is for American and who is against it.
While I don't like party switching, I do have respect for those who switch before the vote. Those who have an epiphany after the vote I will have no respect for because they are trying to play both sides. Give him credit, he said no the Rahm when others caved. While I'm not going to put him in the true Conservative category, he does earn some respect for at least standing up to the bully and not selling American down the river. Publicly they should tell him to go home and read the constitution and some Friedman. Then they should tell him to prove he is a conservative and not an opportunist. Is he for: 1. Lower taxes 2. Strong defense 3. Personal freedoms above government power 4. Less government rather than more 5. Protecting the value of life If not, pound sand. If so, why did he consider himself a D in the first place? Posted by: The Hammer at December 22, 2009 07:52 PM (Xgb9e) 87
I'm waiting for the loads of articles in the MSM about how the Democratic party is "alienating moderates" but ya' know, I won't hold my breath.

We should yuck it up for a few weeks at Pelosi's expense, then flush this treacherous turd down the toilet in the primaries.

Screw Griffith, I know who he is and he's the last person I'd vote for.
I live in the 5th district and he's despised by conservatives here because he's a lying two faced weezil. He is going to have to participate in a primary against two conservatives and will lose. Just because he can see which way the wind is blowing doesn't make him electable now that he has an 'R' after his name. Posted by: Gmac at December 22, 2009 10:47 PM (xcIOA) 90

How long until the left and the MSM (pardon the redundancy) trumpet Griffith's switch as one borne of "principles and integrity" and not of political opportunism? You know, like they did when Jeffords and Specter switched to the Dems?
Posted by: Crush Liberalism at December 23, 2009 08:07 AM (8X9tr) 92
this party switching stuff makes me sick in either direction. I know it
is not like Jeffords, but if he wants to switch, fine, wait until next term and run as a Repub. Bridalgownsonsale.com offers a lot beautiful wedding dresses and bridal gowns, such as beach wedding dresses, Prom Dresses, evening dresses, bridesmaid dresses, Mother of Bride Dresses, Quinceanera Dresses etc.He will lose. And F the Repub leadership if they courted this hack. Posted by: Bridal gowns at December 24, 2009 03:22 AM (4Qu6z) 93
