Funny Email Exchange

This guy David cracks me up by responding to his angry emailer's request for uncompensated work with a combination of ridicule and humor, but mostly polite language. I like how Simon walks the tightrope between outrage and begging, danging the promise of future compensation or greater fortune from his brilliant business idea.

It's the politeness that always gets me. A long time ago I had a run in here with a troll who kept taking the bait from me because he a) was convinced I was a moron and was completely wrong about a quote from Thomas Jefferson (that I completely made up), and b) kept getting angier because I was just so darned nice to him and did not oblige his need to "prove me wrong".

Good times, good times.

Anyway I'm a sucker for this sort of thing. Enjoy. For those of you morons on the move today or tomorrow, safe travels, and a happy Thanksgiving to you all.

5 Well, well, well. The Obama Administration is keeping a close eye on security.... seems a couple of UN-invited folks waltzed right in to Teh One's state dinner last night: While the White House offered no official explanation, it appears to be the first time in modern history that anyone has crashed a White House state dinner. The uninvited guests were in the same room as President Obama, first lady Michelle Obama and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, although it is unknown whether they met the Obamas and the guest of honor.

Now how safe do the rest of us feel?

That was just fantastic. And, David did, indeed, oblige with the pie charts and logos. It is clear that Simon has no sense of humor whatsoever and I find it even funnier that the fella has invented some sort of technology yet can't even create his own friggin pie charts.

What do you want to bet that Simon has invented some swell new interactive game called 'Atari'?

67 Mr. Simon Edhouse, CEO, on something I've never heard of called Naymz:

NOTE: to all those who might have visited here in relation to a posting by David Thorne on his website, David's story is of course quite untrue, the emails fraudulent, and we will take appropriate legal action, with the Police and through the Courts. - David is a very angry man, and has many problems. Its quite ironic actually, because we would be very happy to pay David well for his graphic design, (if he would just do that, but the difficulties working with him outweigh the benefits) He is an excellent designer and we certainly have the funds to pay him. However, David would prefer to slander and defame and make up this kind of silly nonsense than conduct himself in a professional way. - I have always liked David, but as I said, he has some serious personal issues. (To all other victims of David's vicious pranks... shall we form a support group?) - Cheers, Simon.

Joe's is one of the few upscale restaurants that do not accept reservations. The best story about Joe's is when Richard Nixon would travel to Key Biscayne where he had a home and one of his aides called Joe's for reservations.

He was told of the no reservation policy and the aide insisted that President Nixon should receive priority. The aid was told the policy stood with no exceptions. Nixon with wife Pat went to Joe's and stood in line chatting with the patrons. True story.
