3 Took the afternoon off yesterday to get the shoulder and thumb looked at. Picked up Sarah's book afterwards. Sixty pages in it was already worth the $21. 120 pgs. or so in and it just keeps getting better. One way or another, get ahold of this book and read it. What a woman.

AG Holder is in the unenviable position of trying to justify a political decision with a legal argument. That is largely the reason why he looked like a retard yesterday.

24 AG Holder is in the unenviable position of trying to justify a
political decision with a legal argument. That is largely the reason
why he looked like a retard yesterday.

Well, since JugEars the Wonderfuck promised a conviction and execution, and Holder has stated that "failure is not an option", and the fact that the vast majority of KSM's statements are not admissible, you know this is going to turn out poorly. Has anyone considered what we're going to do with this guy when his case is dismissed or he is acquitted? Turn him loose? If we don't then we have just shown our legal system to be a joke. If we do, we have potentially cut our own throats.

Shame we don't have some other procedure we could use...

25 Via Drudge:
SEOUL -- President Barack Obama will not announce his decision on sending more troops to Afghanistanbefore the Thanksgiving holiday, senior aides said on Thursday.
So much for a decision in a couple of weeks a couple of weeks ago.
But he did discuss the region in his meeting with South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak, whose government has is sending 150 civilian aid workers to Afghanistan.
Obama arrived on the base 3:19 p.m. local time (1 a.m. Eastern Standard Time), and received a rousing welcome from 1,500 troops in camouflage uniforms, many holding cameras or pointing cell phones to snap pictures.
"You guys make a pretty good photo op," the president said.
He got a huge cheer when he told them he was increasing military pay. "That's what you call an applause line," he said, before boarding his jet and taking off at 4:11 p.m.

All very valid points - which are of no concern whatsoever to the AG or the administration. What IS of concern to the administration is how to energize the base of young Obama voters who stayed home in New Jersey and Virginia two weeks ago and get them to turn out to vote and keep Congress in Democrat hands next year. IMHO they've read the tealeaves and have determined that bringing back the Bush/Cheney bogeyman is the best way to do that and that a high profile "show trial" of KSM and the others is the best way to resurrect said bogeyman.

Justice, Rule of Law, and National Security all be damned- they need to hold on to Congress to hold on to power. That is all that matters.

34 Heard on odd discussion on the Talk Radio this a.m. as I came home from work.
Essentially, Obama is saying that the decision to hold trial in N.Y. was Holders, not his.
But the point on the T.R. was that Holder cannot over-rule the Sec.of Def,(under whose jurisdiction this would be)so someone is lying. And may in fact be Unconstitutional.

36 Nighthawk-

You may be correct, but I think you give them too much credit. I'm not so sure that they are doing this as an "energize the base" move. I believe it's really in their basic Lib DNA, as are many of these moves.

I'm beginning to think that it's not so much holding on to power as it is to fuck things up as royally as possible so as to make it impossible to reverse, and put us on a permanent Euro-twisted footing.

As Mark Steyn observed recently, the Obamacare debate is all-important, because once this thing is done we are a Social Democrat society forever, and any future debate between conservatives and liberals is reduced to far smaller issues.

37 Nov. 19 (Bloomberg) -- The number of Americans filing claims for unemployment benefits held at a 10-month low last week, a sign firings are letting up as the economy recovers.
Initial joblesswere unchanged at 505,000 in the week ended Nov. 14, in line with the median forecast of economists surveyed by Bloomberg News, Labor Department figures showed today in Washington. The number of peoplecollecting unemployment insurance dropped in the prior week, while those getting extended payments jumped.
2 + 2 = 5. Initial claims unchanged plus extended payments jumped means things are getting better according to MiniTrue.Itin no way could mean that there are less people to lay off and those who are unemployed can't find work which mean the economy is still rotten.
