No! He was not, I repeat not, bowing to Akihito. His mind drifted, it was a long and tiring flight, the time-zone change and all. He did not realize where he was and with whom he was and he just made himself available for Mayor Daley to pull down his pants and Vaseline him up.

Obama didn't put his hand on his heart during the national anthem to court the left. The fact that large portions of the country consider unpatriotic behavior not only appropriate, but preferable worries me a lot more than Obama being such a little bitch about the anthem.

Shouldn't one of the basic requirements of a president be that he actually likes the country he leads? I hate these people more by the day. We have an attorney general that thinks right wingers and soldiers are the true enemy while she wants to give Islamic terrorists a pass and provide amnesty for illegal aliens.
We have an HHS secretary that is not only incompetent but supported a guy who performed infanticide on a massive scale. We have an attorney general who refuses to prosecute black panthers intimidating voters but is cool with bending over backwards to accommodate Islamic terrorists. We have a secretary of state that gives any number of dictatorial regimes a pass while she disparages Israel. I could on and on, but what is the point? The real question is how in the hell do the assholes that voted for this piece of shit live with themselves? Posted by: Ken Royall at November 14, 2009 04:03 PM (9zzk+) 38

I guess most kids that are educated in the US have a lot of disinformation and it might explain hating the country. But then, I'm talking about what they are told, not what they learn. I taught the President how to bow. The year was 1945, or 1941...I think it was 1960, I was on the USS Missouri NCC-1701 helping out with the negotiations with Emperor Tojo. Admiral Douglas MacArthur felt we had to to give them something, some nugget, but I laid my foot down. "Admiral," I says, "we just fought through Guadalcanal, Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Saipan, Saigon, Midway, the Coral Sea, Samar, Badung, Makassar, Santa Cruz, Beijing and Fort Sumter. We cannot just give them something!" MacArthur: "But they won't accept an unconditional surrender!" Me: "Bow." MacArthur: "Bow?" Me: "Trust me, bow." So, he bowed, and thereupon I ended World War II with the proviso that from that point on all American Presidents must bow. So, in short, shut up!

But he doesn't. Japanese people, though they're unlikely to make a big show of annoyance about it, don't appreciate non-Japanese people bowing at them. Because it's at. Obama would know that if he weren't a provincial dunce. He Muslim-dictator-bowed, because that's the "bow" he knows. One word, one thing. The man is retarded. When I was considering moving to the US, to work and live, I started to do some research on the requirements, the bureaucracy involved, etc.
I then found by chance videos and info on the Oath of Allegiance, what it meant and I was struck on how much those people were moved and proud to finally become American citizens, and how they so happily pledged: "I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God" One has to go trough a great ordeal to become a citizen when they´re not born American and this man... I won't say he hates America. But he has no idea what America really is. What it means to so many of us around the world. If one day I'm granted to privilege to utter those words I'll live and die by them. A POTUS needs to live by the allegiance too. Posted by: Sofia at November 14, 2009 05:00 PM (seR4q) 129

Andy McCarthy over at NRO has a great post about trying KSM and the others in NY. It is nothing more than a way to attack Bush and to lay open our intelligence methods, especially the warts, allowing himself to keep his hands clean in doing so. It will give the ability to the left to further damage our security and our image abroad, and Oba Mao can claim it was our justice system that did it. Further, he can claim that it was Holder's decision, not his. During discovery, the defense will be able to expose through new revelations and declassification things that the left and the media will use to distort and manipulate so they can use it to attack Bush, and by extension, the US. And, that will irreparably destroy our intelligence capabilities. This is NOT about bringing terrorists to justice. Oba Mao had said in the past that he was satisfied with using the military tribunals. Combine this with his order to investigate the CIA interrogators, where again he is using Holder as the excuse, and it's pretty fucking obvious what he's doing. This fucker is destroying the country right in front of our eyes. Posted by: beedubya at November 14, 2009 05:39 PM (AnTyA) 180

His hosts must be embarrassed. Old school aristocrats like the Japanese and English royals know exactly how everyone is supposed to behave and how to treat everyone so business can be conducted with minimum friction. That is the point of etiquette. That and keeping your sleeves out of the food. In fact true nobility are unaffected. Being completely secure in their own self esteem they treat everyone else with perfect equality and courtesy. A large part of that is not creating any unnecessary surprises.
Obama is a parvenue snob. He is a pretentious fraud trying to impress people with his studied displays designed to one up the genuine American aristocrat, Prescott Bush's grandson, that he replaced. There was a USS Obama.
It was sunk recently as an artificial reef when it was discovered it wasn't designed to be equipped with engines or steering gear and was only capable of drifting around aimlessly. How the Navy authorized construction of the USS Obama remains a mystery and is currently under congressional investigation. The USS Obama did however contain a number of "firsts" never before seen in large US Naval vessels. The Obama was constructed with an opulent "throne room" that took up 50% of the floor space on the 2nd deck. Designers claimed that an engine and steering gear weren't really needed on the Obama, since its motive power was to be an emerging new super secret "green" propulsion technology internal codenamed "oars". Reports from Russia indicated their Naval analysts were completely baffled by the purpose of the thousands of holes and benches around the deck, but they suspected it had to be related to some nasty new American weapons system and discounted the possibility it was related to the new green "oars" propulsion technology. While "oars" showed great promise in the lab, in practice in the field it proved less than expected. Even using the latest carbon composites, the 200' long poles needed to implement "oars" on a large scale proved ineffective and unwieldy. The scrapping of "oars" is ultimately what doomed the USS Obama to become an artificial reef. someone may have already mentioned this because i didn't feel like reading through all of the comments. so here goes.
Maybe the fact that the president doesn't put his hand on his heart during the pledge is because he's being intellectually honest. Because he doesn't: Pledge ALLEGIANCE to the flag of the United States of America and to the REPUBLIC for WHICH IT STANDS, one nation (under GOD)*, INDIVISIBLE with LIBERTY and justice for ALL. The president simply does NOT want to pledge an allegiance to our flag and what it stands for and represents. However, how many believe that he would put his hand on his heart and pledge and allegiance to... I pledge ALLEGIANCE to the flag of the United States of America, and to the SOCIALIST UTOPIA for which it stands, one nation (under single party POLITICAL IDEOLOGICAL THOUGHT) INDIVISIBLE* with all DIFFICULT LIFE CHOICES MADE BY A POLITICIAN THAT FIGHTS FOR YOU and SOCIAL JUSTICE for those less fortunate. * I've decided to retain the the word INDIVISIBLE simply because the nation would be under single party, single thought, so there would be no reason for it to be divided or divisible. * (i'm being EXTREMELY friendly in giving him the benefit of the doubt by putting the under God in parenthesis because i think its safe to assume how he feels about those words in the passage.) Just more proof that Obama doesn’t know anything about US law or protocols. It is the law that no US citizen bows to another country’s ruler. It indicates we are a subject of that ruler. It shows that Obama wants the USA to be subjugated by other nations and placed under the rule of the UN in a world wide socialist government. He should be impeached!! Some people are so stupid they should wear helmets, sad to say that our "leader" is one such utter and absolute moron. A special thanks to Congress for allowing our debt to get to 1,028% of what we earn and for 96 years of allowing a mad counterfeiter to control our currency so we can send our president to lick the shoes of a communist emperor for more money. Does the emperor bow? No, why? Because he doesn't respect anyone? No, because he is raised to know that he is above all others and doesn't need to bow. America bows to no nation! Plain and simple! We should respect the heck out of them, but we are not inferior to anyone, we are the leaders of the world, and it is time we realize this again and get back to work. The moron in chief has no identity of his own. He has no homeland, no culture that is his, no real religion. Why would we expect anything more out of him. He will pander to everyone so he can be loved. We should create a new cabinet position, call it the Department of Warm Fuzzies, and he can be the first secretary. Let's get a real man, a real leader, someone with some sort of understanding for executive leadership and economics in as our president before we have nothing but a third world country to govern! I don't figure President Bush was arrogant, he was very humble and classy. That's just what the Obama types of this world think. He's an ivory tower academic leftist given power, he is clueless about how the real world works but has a complex and carefully crafted false one in his mind combined with a sort of madness that makes him cling to it against all evidence and logic to the contrary.

BHO has a VERY clear identity: he is the colonial avenger. He's avenging all the former colonies (like Kenya) who have been so oppressed by "imperialist" regimes like the U.S. If America was stupid enough to elect him to their presidency well that just shows their corruption and the necessity to destroy them all the more. And everything he does is a means to that end. BHO is SURROUNDED by people who tell him the right and accepted etiquette and ways to act: his flaunting them and subverting those ways is ABSOLUTELY INTENTIONAL. He's absolutely emboldened by the endless supply of apologists in this country who will always make excuses about why the obvious things he's doing are not what they really are. Remember as well that BHO (allegedly) WAS a Muslim and is now (allegedly) a Christian: that would make him (if it were true) the most highly visible apostate from islam in the world. So why is there no howling from the muslim world for his death? No continuous attempts on his life or those of his family? Where are the calls for jihad against the apostate, and why aren't there any???Recognize his bold, consistant, and significant steps in favor of islam and muslims: how naive must one be to chalk them up to naivete??? OK, I MUST comment on this, having worked at a highly Japanese company for 5 years. When I started working there I was the 8th American hired, so the place was steeped in Japanese culture (the lessons I got on making green tea!) in every way. I learned about bows, resignations (highly ceremonial), card giving and taking, dealing with superiors and inferiors, both between the Japanese and when interacting with Americans. Bowing in complex in Japan, as many have noted. That said, the Japanese do NOT expect Americans to bow to them. They understand it's their shtick, not ours. I saw people get into bow-offs to determine who had less status. It's all tied to face and etiquette and is usually gotten wrong or looks silly. That said, the only time I ever bowed was when there were so many people bowing around me that it became reflexive, or on one occasion where it was part of a ceremony, for the extremely aged, frail and kind of dotty founder of the company, who was visiting us, to show respect for his achievement which had given us our jobs. For Obama to have bowed could NOT have been an accident. He did it on purpose, and I am ashamed that he did it. For the Japanese the significance is huge coming from a President -- it will NOT be just an etiquette gaffe to them -- it's an acknowledgement of our inferiority as a nation to the Japanese. Very worrying stuff. Posted by: Biblio Phile at November 16, 2009 11:43 AM (y5VNb) 239

Wrought iron is commercially pure iron. In contrast to steel, it has very low carbon content. It is a fibrous material due to the slag inclusions (a normal constituent). This is also what fives it a “grain” resembling wood, which is visible when it is etched or bent to the point of failure. Wrought iron is tough, malleable, ductile and easily welded.
