McCain This Was an Act of Terror; Political Correctness Cause This
Bonus: Walter Reed Shrinks Knew Hasan Was Either Crazy or a Jihadi Since Last Year

A growing chorus.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) Wednesday called the Fort Hood killings an “act of terror” and joined a parade of GOP critics in suggesting that “political correctness” might have been a factor in not preventing the shootings.

“We ought to make sure ‘political correctness’ never impedes national security,” McCain said in a speech at the University of Louisville.

McCain’s comments echoed those of a variety of Republican politicians and commentators — as well as Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn) — over the past few days as information about the background of the alleged shooter has surfaced in the media. The criticisms, which initially focused on the failure of the administration and the Army to use the word “terrorism” or “jihadism” in connection with Fort Hood, are now being merged with a larger Republican portrayal of the Obama administration’s approach toward terrorism generally.

Good for McCain.

By the way, he's still alive, so if he had been elected we would not yet have to face the fear of having an inexperienced person assuming the presidency.

They Knew He Was Mental: Although, as Allah says, it's not clear he was crazy at all, at least not in medical terms. They may have just been trying to explain his jihadism and Islamofascist zealotry in clinical, nonjudgmental, non-"discriminatory" terms.

And yet they still shipped him off to Fort Hood.

Someone else's problem.

This is what bureaucracies faced with a political correctness charged situation do: No one wants to take ownership of the problem, because there is no correct, winning strategy. If you write this guy up as a jihadist jerkoff, you get a black mark in your file for "discrimination."

Best solution? Just don't deal with it all; pretend it's not a problem; let the problem go to someone else's desk.

That is just human nature and cannot be changed. What can be changed is the policy that is causing this intolerable buck-shifting, and clarifying (while meaning it), that political correctness does not trump security and safety, and that if a Muslim is showing signs of Not So Sudden Jihadi Syndrome, the correct, rewarded action is to write him up and investigate him and maybe discipline and charge him, and the wrong, punished action is to do nothing and hope the bomb explodes on someone else's base.

But I doubt that will happen. We've had this bullshit going on since 9/11.

When a group of key officials gathered in the spring of 2008 for their monthly meeting in a Bethesda, Md., office, one of the leading — and most perplexing — items on their agenda was: What should we do about Hasan?…

Both fellow students and faculty were deeply troubled by Hasan’s behavior — which they variously called disconnected, aloof, paranoid, belligerent, and schizoid. The officials say he antagonized some students and faculty by espousing what they perceived to be extremist Islamic views. His supervisors at Walter Reed had even reprimanded him for telling at least one patient that “Islam can save your soul.”…

One official involved in the conversations had reportedly told colleagues that he worried that if Hasan deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, he might leak secret military information to Islamic extremists. Another official reportedly wondered aloud to colleagues whether Hasan might be capable of committing fratricide, like the Muslim U.S. Army sergeant who, in 2003, killed two fellow soldiers and injured 14 others by setting off grenades at a base in Kuwait.

They actually feared this was coming. And yet, Rule 1 -- do not make waves regarding obviously jihadist Muslims -- still prevailed.

My brother in law and I got in an argument last night about McCain. I reminded him that I thought early on that the base wouldn't come out for McCain. He said that he is "the base" and that I am not the base. We both voted for McCain so the turn out portion is hypothetical. I said that I had to hold my nose and vote against Obama while he actually liked McCain. He is an ex hippie atheist architect guitar player who appreciates art and music. I am a Reagan formed conservative music shunning, blog reading, american car owning, flag waving liberal hating carnivore.

I am the base and the base did not like McCain.

"By the way, he's still alive, so if he had been elected we would not yet have to face the fear of having an inexperienced person assuming the presidency."

In 2012, I hope John McCain, even though not running for presidency, buys a 30-minute chunk of primtime for a little infomercial.  It could be toted as a huge, final, tell-all about the frank, honest truth about Trig Palin's true mother.

Then, when you tuned in, there would be a rather brief introductory graphic.  The next 10-15 minutes of the infomercial will be a montage of every talking-head that uttered the phrase "heartbeat away from the Presidency" in hopes of generating fear of Sarah Palin.

After this, McCain will meander out onto a nondescript stage, look into the camera, and proclaim, "My friends, I'm still alive.  To all those who worried four years ago about my certain and impending demise......fuck you."

He would then give the camera the "double deuce."

Whatever amount of time remained for his half-hour spot would be filled simply with him standing there, holding out his two extended middle fingers, laughing.

The final two seconds would be a quick cut to Sarah Palin, holding Trig, shouting, "He's still really mine!" *wink*

John McCain is an aging politician who has spent the majority of his adult life in Congress serving the American people.  Senator McCain has reached a point in life where his mental acuity leaves something to be desired, and I dismiss and challenge Senator McCains assertion that the Ft. Hood tragedy was a result of Islamic terrorism.

My administration will leave this matter to the police for proper disposition, just as it should be.  We will handle this mentally challenged person the way we do all other mentally challenged, and this could mean psychiatric confinement until he demonstrates his ability to act rational, and at that time he will be considered for release.

59

Mental? His actions were perfectly rational within the context of Islam. His rationale of comparing himself to a heroic soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save his fellow soldiers, is not the senseless raving of a mad man. He wanted to kill Americans and forfeit his own life to save the lives of his fellow Muslims. That's why he is a huge hero to every jihadi on the planet. He massacred 42 American soldiers single-handedly - and fucking lived! He is a real live fucking hero to every fucking Muslim terrorist on the planet. The guy is ten feet tall to them! Mental? Are you nuts?

As far as the jihadi's are concerned, his behavior was in no way some kind of crazy embarrassment. He wasn't "mental" to them. His actions were some of the most selfless, courageous, and extremely heroic behavior imaginable to them. He was a one man flaming jihad! A towering whirlwind of fiery destruction against the infidel, as far they're concerned.

So, what do we do with him? If we make too big a deal out of him, that just furthers the glory of his story, and the jihadi's get an even bigger myth to use for recruiting purposes. He needs to disappear as quietly as possible. And America needs to pull its head out of its ass. That Clinton era ban on concealed carry needs to go down the shitter. It didn't even slow down Hasan, but it sure made killing easy for him - just as it was supposed to do. Fuck you, Bill Clinton. Japanese kamikazes willfully slammed theri airplanes into American warships causing thousands of deaths. And it is arguable that the kamikazes weer more honorable than this current wave of suicidal fanatics because the Japanese chose miltary targets. Targets capable of defending themselves. These bastards choose unarmed, defenseless targets.

The link in the twitter led to a brief entry by the paper's editor:

Another example of Fox News lying to an American public all too eager to accept what the network is sellin' as "news" and not the blatant propaganda it is.

Then it included a link to mediamatters.org.

99 TREASON - This word imports a betraying, treachery, or breach of allegiance.

The Constitution of the United States, Art. III, defines treason against the United States to consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid or comfort. This offence is punished with death. By the same article of the Constitution, no person shall be convicted of treason, unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.

Look, his superiors, psychiatrists themselves, saw him exhibiting classic symptoms of "lone gunmen" and saw anti-social behavior, and didn't just fail to make a diagnosis, they promoted him, with the knowledge that he would be providing mental health care to soldiers.

Or consider how the Mormons handled their stress over having to watch fellow man wallow in sinfulness. They couldn't take it so they struck out for Utah. Bucking the problem out of your hair, or transferring it out of your hair, is quit common.

One roommate I had was former Army and he described a soldier that was a complete disaster that was given a good review and was recommended to corps HQ.  My roommate couldn't believe that recommendation was given.  I had to explain that sometimes it is easier to just promote someone somewhere else, where the total incompetence can be demonstrated, and someone else can do the paperwork to seperate the clown from the service.

When I said that, I could see the light turn on in my roommate's face.

its amazing, sally quinn says at the end, simply, after resisting for 5 minutes:

"He is a Muslim terrorist"

compare that to Sally Quinn's article in WaPo on november 9, critiquing those who call Hasan a Muslim terrorist:

It is difficult, after 9/11, for many Americans to see Muslims who commit atrocities as anything but Muslims. Just look at some of the comments on the blogs. One person went so far as to suggest that we round up all of the Muslims in this country and put them in detention camps like we did the Japanese American citizens during world Ward II . Over the past two days I have heard a number of intelligent, well-educated and open-minded people allude to the fact that Hasan had equated suicide bombers with heroes, talked openly about his feelings against the wars, and expressed his belief's that they were anti-Muslim wars. "Who are we kidding,?" said one person. "This is an act of a Muslim terrorist."

Muslims are, on the whole, intelligent (or cunning), active, responsible adults - not passive weaklings who cannot possibly form plans to murder, unless prompted towards that by oppressive realities beyond their control.

And the Great Liberal Brother is not responsible for healing the psychic wounds of the Muslim any more than the Evil Rightwing Hordes are responsible for whenever any of them act out their infantile rage.

I think in many respects the MSM belittles Muslims and their lives & desires, treating them as children. It really isn't any wonder they respond as such.

166 If you ask me, the real culprits are the trial lawyers and our legal system. The reason everyone is so touchy about political correctness is they are afraid to be sued.

Look at the case of the flying imams who got on board the USAirways flight in Minneapolis. They sued and got a settlement — they were paid money! It seems to me the injured parties were the people who were scared to death to be on the same flight with them. But that's not the way it plays out in our legal system.

Our legal system sucks, and the trial lawyers suck. They have killed all common sense and intelligent discourse in our country. They have endangered all of us because now we cannot protect ourselves without fearing having to go court and suffer possible economic disaster.

I hope I can write this properly without insulting too many non-Muslims.  Those of you who call this killer a lunatic or otherwise insane need to be careful.  Hasan is a true believer in Mohammed's religion, and therefore he believes that he is justified  and will get his reward in heaven.  Anyone who believes that a true believer in a different religion is crazy run the risk of being painted with their own brush.  Hasan is not crazy, at least in the sense that people who are active members of Westboro Baptist church are not crazy.

170 And who would have squealed the loudest if the FBI or the military would have investigated the piece of crap?

John McCain.

173 When someone joins the military, they take an oath to protect the USA. When someone becomes a Muslim, they take an oath to convert or KILL infadels. According to the Muslim religion, the USA has the worst infadels.

If a Muslim joins the US military, which oath will they keep?

"Hasan Was Either Crazy or a Jihadi"

Like asking whether Jeffrey Dahmer was crazy or evil.

Correct answer: who gives a shit?

--------------------------------

Making reference also to John Locke's conclusions, Sam Adams in his 1772 Report of the Committee of Correspondence to the Boston Town Meeting, entitled The Rights of the Colonists said the following:

"In regard to religion, mutual toleration in the different professions thereof is what all good and candid minds in all ages have ever practised, and, both by precept and example, inculcated on mankind. And it is now generally agreed among Christians that this spirit of toleration, in the fullest extent consistent with the being of civil society, is the chief characteristical mark of the Church. Insomuch that Mr. Locke has asserted and proved, beyond the possibility of contradiction on any solid ground, that such toleration ought to be extended to all whose doctrines are not subversive of society. The only sects which he thinks ought to be, and which by all wise laws are excluded from such toleration, are those who teach doctrines subversive of the civil government under which they live."

Sound familiar.  For this reason, PROHIBITION OF THE PRACTICE OF THE ISLAMIC RELIGION IN AMERICA would NOT be in contradiction of the First Amendment guarantee of Freedom of Religion, any more than prohibiting people from "shouting 'FIRE!' in a crowded theatre" runs afoul of the guarantee of Freedom of Speech.

You may have thought the same thing, and wondered why -- short of the oppression of Political Correctness -- nobody else believes this or says it.  Well, someone did.

And the oppression of political correctness IS the only reason why no one currently in America will publicly suggest it. Well, I do.

McCain

1. has never taken an earmark and has ALWAYS been an opponent of wasteful government spending.

2. has a strong pro-life record.

3. was spot-on right about the war in Iraq back in 2004 while most of the idiots in the GOP were either rallying around Rumsfeld or inching toward withdrawal (see Romney, Mitt).

4. proposed the most sweeping, free-market of health care every put forth by a Republican candidate (combo of tax credits and eliminating the employer tax deduction).

5. brought you Sarah Palin.  (Do you think any of the other stuffed suits in the GOP would have nominated her?)

Calling him a "Democratic-leftist" is not just dishonest, it's mind-bogglingly stupid.   I wish that the fools who enjoy spending all of their meaningless time trashing the GOP's FORMER candidate would get back to trashing the Maoist in chief.  I'm certainly sick-and-tired of listening to this idiotic horsesh*t every time McCain is mentioned - especially from the contingent who supported the Lord of the Phony Conservatives - Mitt Romney.

Oh, and McCain is a douchebag who should have displayed some balls on the campaign trail rather than treating his opponent like a favored colleague. You'd think he would have seen where playing nice with Dems got him.

Fucker. And tell your dumb bitch of a daughter to STFU too.

Yeah, but he never could have survived the pace of all those Wednesday (?) night White House parties.

182 Pelayo @169 "I hope I can write this properly without insulting too many non-Muslims."

Fail.

"  Those of you who call this killer a lunatic or otherwise insane need to be careful."

Or what?

"  Hasan is a true believer in Mohammed's religion, and therefore he believes that he is justified  and will get his reward in heaven. "

He should get his reward in the electric chair.

" Anyone who believes that a true believer in a different religion is crazy run the risk of being painted with their own brush."

Which would I rather be painted with?
a/ my own brush, or
b/ the blood of this True Believer's murder victims?

"  Hasan is not crazy, at least in the sense that people who are active members of Westboro Baptist church are not crazy. "

Here's a tip:
(crazy PLUS evil) =\= (not crazy).

T.North @163 "When can we start drawing up the articles of impeachment, for execution on Jan 26, 2010?  "

About ten minutes AFTER the defendant's party loses control of both houses of Congress.  So we're gonna miss that deadline, sorry.
