Now at first i did think it was Remington Steele, but when i found out it was michael steele i was still pleased.I think he is a smart guy with lots of appeal to non traditional voters, the man almost won a senate seat in freaking maryland, so obviously he can win middle of the road votes which are needed to win elections.

However I find myself disappointed more and more with him. I know it is a hard job to try to please everyone, but why can't he stick up for the republican party? Self deprecation can be very useful and make one appear humble and honest, but the key word is "SELF", not everyone I was elected to represent.

When I was in the Air Force, my best friend was a black guy. We were stationed at Homestead AFB, FL. He was born and raised in Goulds (sp?) just a few miles up the road. He told me there were places in metro Dade County that even he wouldn't go and he was a big dude who could handle himself. I know while I was there, at least two GI's got shot and there was a Circle K off limits right outside the hospital gate because the wing commander's wife got carjacked there.

I now live in suburban Detroit. There are many places in that hellhole I won't go at night (or in the daytime) and I worked with many people that live there and they won't go anywhere at night there either. 

Perhaps there is a reason for this? Although I doubt anyone was afraid of him at the places he socializes with people of other colors.
