With conservatives having no clear message on SOMP and their designs, moderate and liberal Republicans tend to be easily swayed towards more and more centralized SOMPs.  It's not moderates who are at fault here so much as it is conservatives who haven't first educated themselves about SOMPs and then spread their small government SOMPs to others.

Expect the trend towards more collective SOMPS and bigger government so long as conservatives leaders continue to lack a recognizable position on small government SOMPs.   It's not that people want socialized medicine, it's that conservatives in general are clueless about the need to organize and articulate a message about small governmnet SOMPs.
