The 34,000 number basically says "Yeah, the Army force generation process is coming up a brigade combat team short unless we shove an armor brigade in there (bad idea) or short the strategic contingency brigades (82nd) which we need for Korea or other emergencies."

More Big Army brigades won't win that war anyway, not with Obama calling shots.
