Seattle Police Shoot Suspected Cop-Killer

The Bill Ayers Of A New Millennium?

This past Halloween night, someone pulled up to a Seattle patrol car and, apropos of nothing, opened fire on the cruiser, wounding one officer and outright assassinating the other.

Police said auto design experts tell them the old Datsun most resembles an enhanced video image of a vehicle captured on the dashboard camera of a patrol car that responded to the shooting.

They say the car on the video was in the area at the time of the attack and is similar to the car described by surviving Officer Britt Sweeney. She returned fire, possibly hitting the car.

During the memorial service for slain Officer Timothy Brenton, Seattle police responded to a tip about a Datsun. They apprehended a suspect, who drew a gun and was shot by the police. He was in critical condition in the hospital as of Friday night.

Law-enforcement sources said Monfort also is suspected of the Oct. 22 bombing and arson of a Seattle maintenance yard, where three police cars and an RV used as a mobile precinct were damaged.

Before Monfort was identified, police found distinct evidence that leads them to believe the same person was involved in that crime and the Brenton shooting, sources said.

This Monfort fellow has a most unusual bio. You have got to read it to believe it.

Monfort received a bachelor's degree from the UW in March 2008, according to the university's degree-validation Web site. His major was in Law, Societies and Justice.
------------------------------------------

Monfort provided this title for his project with the McNair program: "The Power of Citizenship Your Government Doesn't Want You to Know About: How to Change the Inequity of the Criminal Justice System Immediately, Through Active Citizen Nullification of Laws, As a Juror."

In an abstract of his project, Monfort said he planned to "illuminate and further" the scholarship of Paul Butler, a law professor at George Washington University. Butler is a proponent of jury nullification, a controversial principle whereby jurors feel free to disregard a judge's instructions and acquit a defendant no matter the strength of the evidence.
------------------------------------------------

"It is the moral responsibility of black jurors to emancipate some guilty black outlaws," Butler wrote in a 1995 Yale Law Journal article, adding: "My goal is the subversion of American criminal justice, at least as it now exists."

Emphasis mine.
Knowing this, don't miss the interview with one of his pivotal professors in college.

The cops nailed his profile, as it is briefly outlined at the first link. Monfort despises police but has expressed an interest in becoming a police officer in the past.

And he recently lost his job...as a security guard.
Oh, and he's a rabid lefty moonbat with missing-daddy issues.
Read the whole thing.

Thanks to Zhenjiss, who snarks, "What I can't figure out is how he was overlooked by the Obama admin. for a high level position at the Justice Dept."

Nice one.

Has the noise from the left about "police brutality" started?  This bs that only children raised by single parents are going to be sociopaths is so trite.  I'm so tired of all the moral equivalency.  Oh, abused child?  Not his fault.  Funny how they never seem to mention those who are only children, raised by a single parent that do not commit vicious crimes.

The bleeding hearts and the current admin are bound to take us down.  Hate to be anything like a conspiracy nut, but it is not looking too good.  Apparently the O visited Congress and made the dems see the importanct of passing this "historic" bill.  They just long to be a part of history.  Many of them won't even be around when the history of this horror is written.

I was reading that bio excerpt and thinking how some Leftard bloggers would point to jury nullification as proof this guy was a right-wing Militia nut or something, when I reached the line: "It is the moral responsibility of black jurors to emancipate some guilty black outlaws."

I guess that, unlike in the case of the census worker in Kentucky (who the FBI now believes committed suicide), there really ARE people who are motivated to murder government workers.  Only they aren't so much on the Right or motivated by the TEA Parties... they're more on the Left, motivated by revolutionary anarchism, and in the Muslim community, motivated by Islamic fundamentalism.

Bad week for the people pushing the meme that all evil springs from the Right wing of the Republican Party.  They must be feeling a bit green around the footba-- I mean, gills.

It's Washington State, so they'll nurse him back to health, try him, sentence him to death... and then when he's in prison, he'll eat everything in sight and balloon up to 400 pounds, and then sue the State to prevent his execution on the basis that he's too sick and fat to face the hangman.  Hey, it worked for the bank robber/murderer.

He sustained a head wound with the proximate cause of being a fucking tard.  How the hell does a gun "fail"?  Sure, one in a thousand rounds sucks, or something, but why is it that that 1000th round turns up so often in the hands of a dipshit at the precise moment he needs it most?  It doesn't. Why do we have programs aimed at minority students?  For what purpose or reason.  What does the students race have to do with graduate work, and why do they need help?

36 Thomas Jefferson and other of the Founders were in favor of nullification too.

Let's say the evidence is clear that a man broke some stupid and unconstitutional law, but you know that sentencing the guy to years in prison is an unjust outcome. You should vote to acquit. Otherwise, we will continue to have a legal system, not a justice system.

None of this is an endorsement of what Monfort wanted to do. People guilty of real crimes (as opposed to merely breaking some dipshit government law) should of course be convicted.

40 "Thomas Jefferson had sex with his slave women.   He wasn't always right."

Whether he was right or not depends on the arguments he made. Have you ever bothered to evaluate them?

Is it your belief that ONLY the courts (and ultimately the Supreme Court) can make a determination of what an unconstitutional law is? (Where is THAT in the Constitution?). Can't the President, the Congress, the States, and the people act to thwart that which is unconstitutional?

If the President orders confiscation of all firearms in the country to be carried out by the military, government agencies, and police, should that order be obeyed? Or should it be refused as an unconstitutional order?

48 Before lawyers took over the legal system juries were allowed to strike laws from the books, and judges were hardly ever lawyers. Also, every adult male was armed and considered a de facto part of the constabulary, which is where you get the citizen's arrest part of old societal law. I'd like to see us move back to that, but I've only ever heard the idea voiced among libertarians, not radical leftist race warriors. That's a new one for me.

In any event, I'm glad they got the perp. Cops have a hard job, and good ones are valuable assets. Scum like this guy deserve the worst our justice system can mete out (Or the best, depending on your perspective).

Prayers for all of the Seattle PD.

...and this type of aging, underachieving, activist loser seems too familiar to me. These types are all over our larger west coast cities. Now 41 years old, academically recycled multiple times (probably on the public dime), bounced all around until he landed among "progressives" in a "progressive" city. Dude jumps into the anti-police activist community in same city...usually among a younger crowd, as his age-peers will see him for what he is: a stunted, semi-loser. Among his new crowd, the youngsters may see him as an elder and a leader, so for the first time in his life, he is not an outcast....his (apparent) mixed race ethnicity helps him among the white activists, while at the same time his drive to prove "racial authenticity" and a well established persecution complex pushes him farther out toward the fringes, and this bad endup...probably idolized huey newton...seems probably that way, anyway.

I'm not asking any policy recommendations of the government for Washington because I know that they all came out of the same schools. I just think it's important that private people recognise that UW incorporates within its fields of study an anarchist madrassa ("Law, Societies and Justice" is just one tip of this ice shelf).

I also find it interesting that this guy did his work in a liberal city. Alinsky knew that liberal cities were the places to troll for budget-busting and order-weakening concessions. Violence like this destabilises the community and destablisation is what Alinsky is all about.

A co-worker of mine back in the 1990s was called up for jury duty in a wife-beating case.  The evidence was clear, the guy was guilty, and they voted so, except for two votes that came back not guilty.  The perpetrator was black, the wife was black, and two jurors were black women who folded their arms and refused to discuss their position.  They voted several times with the same 10-2 result. My co-worker said that the two black jurors just refused to convict a black man.

So jury nullification is already happenning, has been for years, and it is the black population which is denied justice because of it.
