| Ad Praises Dede Scozzofava as Only "Progressive Choice" for NY23Oh -- even though it's bang-on accurate, it's actually an ad being run by Hoffman supporters, made to look like Scozzofava reaching out to her liberal base. Video here. Dirty trick? Eh.... Kinda, yeah. It's not that the facts are dishonest. It's just that it successfully mimics an ad actually in favor of a candidate, and so lets you believe this is Scozzofava's pitch. Still: Good ad! The controversy over it can only help Hoffman. 9: No, this ad is perfect.
It may steal so "Progressive" votes from Owens to Scozzofava. It drives actual Republican voters away from Scozzofava. And it's entirely true. The more the Scozzofava campaign whines about this, the more they let the voters know about her positions. Which is entirely to Hoffman's benefit. The Politico lies when it says this is 'Republican Dirty Tricks'
Not only because it's not a trick, and it's not dirty, but because it's attacking the republican party's candidate. The Politico is absolute SHIT for news. They always get it wrong. Why link them? At least (please) note that they got their headline ass backwards. An ad that simply notes the facts, in a polite way, is not mudslinging or dirty. This is a much better tone that I'm used to seeing, and it's not even linked to Hoffman. Tons of groups are opposed to Sozzafava... they don't all have to toe Hoffman's line. Actually for some browsers, Chrome specifically, there are no "decorative" buttons at the top, only a simple text box. Also, some security settings will cause the javascript to not load, also keeping those from appearing. Short version it means that you can't do quotes, italics, etc. If that is the case, try opening the page in IE, which seems to always work, but that's like leaving your keys to your house hanging on the side of your mailbox.

Had to step away -- yeah, there was some chain yanking going on, but Jonathan E. wasn't kidding. The trick to surviving a Cheney attack, by the way, is a full-out sprint. Don't zigzag as though a cheetah were chasing you; just bolt, straight and fast. If you can make it 200 years or so, you're safe. His heart won't carry him much farther than that, and he starts to slow down after 100 yards. And whatever you do, don't look at his necktie. The thin-stripe pattern has stun capabilities. Close one. . . . Posted by: FireHorse at October 28, 2009 09:17 PM (Vl5GH) 117
Damn. Got a stent in my heart, as well. I guess I'm toast.

Right click is a whole new world...
...a world unavailable to most Mac users.. WTF is it with Apple and one button mice anyway? those things are about as useful as a screen door in a submarine. Posted by: Purple Avenger at October 28, 2009 09:33 PM (bjyQf) 119

Why do you Windows people get off on right-click? Mac users don't even use a mouse that much because trackpads are better. WHAT IS SO INFERIOR ABOUT CONTROL-CLICK?

I have been beating up Ben Smith and Josh Kraushaar all night over this. Both of them are trafficking in heresy to substantiate their reports.

hmmm if conservatives are 40% of the poluation, liberals are 25% and moderates are 35% then it would be a great idea like this ad does is to split the liberal/mod vote between a moderate and a liberal and then run the conservative and that conservate should get about 45% of the vote. which in laymans terms is called a win You listening GOP in DC. If you continue to run moderate/liberals you will be destroyed at the polls.

They should have claimed the ad was paid for by "Conservatives for Truth" or something.
