| IAEA says Iranians can and are making nukesHooray, we now live in such a safe world we can cancel missile defense and sit down with the peace-loving Mullahs....what's that?.....The IAEA said what?.....Well now, that sure makes us look foolish....what crappy timing we have....not just dissing Poland on the 70th anniversary of Sovietzkrieg....but now even the most toothless dictator-appeasing, nose-on-their-face-ignoring watchdog on earth even says we are in deep shite.
Maybe we should send them another letter. On a positive note, at least the AP isn't exposing US secrets today Comments1

Question the Timing.
There is no way we did not know about the contents of that report. (The "secret" one shown to the AP, lol.) So, we must have lost some diplomatic tussle to keep it from being released. When that was apparent, Obama put two clowns on a plane to go scuttle our allies before the news broke. Either they knew the release was going to happen today and used the last day they could kill European Missile Defense to do so, or the UN guys just pants' us after the announcement because Obama has ruffled so many European feathers. "Iran has yet to build a nuclear weapon. My administration will seek engagement with Iran based on mutual interests and mutual respect. We believe in dialogue. (Applause.) But in that dialogue we will present a clear choice. We want Iran to take its rightful place in the community of nations, politically and economically. We will support Iran's right to peaceful nuclear energy with rigorous inspections. That's a path that the Islamic Republic can take. Or the government can choose increased isolation, international pressure, and a potential nuclear arms race in the region that will increase insecurity for all. So let me be clear: Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile activity poses a real threat, not just to the United States, but to Iran's neighbors and our allies. The Czech Republic and Poland have been courageous in agreeing to host a defense against these missiles. I'd rather welcome our new Chinese overlords than our Muslim ones. Seriously I would. Under Communist China, it's only illegal to be a Christian. Under Muslim rule, it's illegal to be anything except Muslim. Under China, women can hold down jobs and girls can go to school. Females can leave their house with their arms, head and face uncovered. Females are allowed to speak to anyone in public. Etc, etc. Life sucks for the common person, but it's a far sight better than life under Muslim rule. Thepremise of your question is in error. You assume the Iranians are working only on small missiles when the word from intelligence sources is that they are sharing tech with North Korea that would let them hit our eastern seaboard (and Europe easily). Posted by: Methos at September 17, 2009 03:22 PM (EMHaT) 165
Assuming Patriot missiles in Turkey would be on our side in a missile exchange (not at all a safe bet), I don't think they have the range or the speed to take out missiles bound for Europe (or us). I know the Israelis have done a lot to improve the design, but I think they're intended to protect, like the city they're stationed in.

163 The formerly publicly secular but increasingly Islamic Turkey? That Turkey?
Posted by: t-bird at September 17, 2009 03:22 PM (FcR7P) Yes. The Turkey that used to have the secular military holding Supreme power, in their Constitution, and that had to have that secular military dissolve 4 Islamist governments in the last 40 years in order to keep the nation from sliding into the islamicist abyss. That same Turkey that the EU forced to amend their Constitution in order to take that power away from the secular military in 2003 so that they could be considered for EU membership (even though the EU never intended to let Turkey in, anyway). The same Turkey that has, since that fateful amending of their Constitution, followed the historical slide back into islamist rule. Yep, that's the one. Gotta love the way this world works ... Posted by: progressoverpeace at September 17, 2009 03:28 PM (A46hP) 167
Why would we focus all of that money and effort building a missile defense system to combat the kinds of missiles Iran isn't developing? Except that they are developing missiles that can threaten Europe with more on the way. I would also call your attention to their friendly relationship with missile exporter North Korea. The threat equation for a country equals capabilities x intentions. And we cannot afford to assume the capabilities stay static for such a hostile unpredictable regime, especially when the lead time is so long for a defensive response and they have demonstrated their desire to extend the reach of their weapons.

While the US has yet to announce that it will leave systems in place here, the possibility is strong, one official said, particularly in light of reports that the Pentagon was conducting a review of its European missile shield and was leaning towards deploying the systems in Turkey The Israeli Air Force's Air Defense Division will hold a joint drill, called Juniper Cobra, with the US Military's European Command (EUCOM) and the US Missile Defense (MDA) next month in what is being described as the largest joint exercise ever held by the two countries, during which they will jointly test three different ballistic missile defense systems Israel, jpost Posted by: willow at September 17, 2009 03:38 PM (GkYyh) Posted by: Doug Adams at September 17, 2009 03:38 PM (bWB5j) 172

it says they have the information, not the tools or experience. And nowhere does it say they are doing it. Your headline is a lie. I can procure the plans for a nuke off the internet, it's that easy. I'd also doubt anything being reported as 'secret', how can it be a secret if people are giving the information away to unnamed reporters, there is no basis to be able to prove this information valid so it must be considered skeptical until proven. Naturally, you won't do this and will lie and make up headlines to back up your weak case and arguments.

Last weekend, I ordered chocolate Ugg Classic Cardy hoping they wouldn't show marks as much as my beige ugg cardy boots and waterproofed them when I first got them. They look so much cleaner than my old beige ugg boots, I wear my Whooga's all year round, they don't make my feet sweat as much as my older pair. I'm very impressed with how they are holding up to my abuse, very well made. My only suggestion to everyone is keep them dry and out of the mud.Ugg Classic Cardy!
