Obama Administration: Hey, Joe Wilson Was Kind Of Right About That Lying Thing Afterall

I'm reading between the lines a bit but we've gone from "Wilson is wrong, illegals aren't covered" to "Hey, we're going to make sure illegals aren't covered after all" pretty quickly.

According to a White House release, the administration now says it wants to see the health care plan should include the following provisions.

* Undocumented immigrants would not be able to buy private insurance on the exchange. Those who are lawfully present in this country would be able to participate.

* Undocumented immigrants would be able to buy insurance in the non-exchange private market, just as they do today. That market will shrink as the exchange takes hold, but it will still exist and will be subject to reforms such as the bans on pre-existing conditions and caps.

* Verification will be required when purchasing health insurance on the exchange. One option is the SAVE program (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements) which states currently use to make sure that undocumented immigrants don't participate in safety-net programs for which they are ineligible.

* There would be no change in the law that requires emergency rooms to treat people who need emergency care, including undocumented immigrants. There is already a federal grant program that compensates states for emergency room costs associated with treatment of undocumented immigrants, a provision sponsored by a Republican lawmaker.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee has already rejected an amendment that would have covered most of this, so it's clearly a change in policy for the Democrats.

Joe "You Lie" Wilson 1...Barack "Yeah, I Kind Of Did Lie" Obama 0.

5 So Thursday Fox News said Joe Wilson was right, and my libtard "friends" who had the vapors over the "rude" rejected the information outright, without even reading it, based on the source.  Friday the White House said Joe Wilson was right and...silence.

(One of them offered a CNN video link that they believed refuted the White House PR staff *boggle* and when I refused to look at it based on the source, they totally missed my point.)

6 But Maureen Dowd just said:

Joe Wilson yelled “You lie!” at a president who didn’t.

...

But Wilson’s shocking disrespect for the office of the president — no Democrat ever shouted “liar” at W. when he was hawking a fake case for war in Iraq — convinced me: Some people just can’t believe a black man is president and will never accept it.

Oh, yeah, it's race-card time in Dowd's world. That's what makes her cutting-edge in the world of opinion writers.

"That bill — mark my word, I'm the chairman — is going to have a strong public option," he added to thunderous applause.

In a media availability held just prior to his speech, Harkin said he believed the legislation would be able to garner enough support from both sides of the aisle — potentially enough to label it bipartisan when all is said and done.

"We will have some Republicans on our bill," Harkin said.

This is from Tom Harkin, Socialist-Iowa.
2 things:  If any R, I mean any R in either chamber votes for this, I will never never never never never never vote for an R again.  Ever.  I'm writing the RNC to inform them of such.

Secondly, why are any R's still negotiating on anything other than state portability, tort reform, and catastrophic care?  WHY?

9 Ya know, I never thought I'd be in a place where 'oh look, Teh One's lying again' would start getting boring.

I'm beginning to think 'hey, he told the truth' would be more interesting.  Sadly, the best opportunities for that were those pre-election vid clips where he was caught telling his Progressive buddies: 'hey guys, I'm going to flush Amerika down the crapper after I get in'.

Is it 2010 yet?

This worries me. It's this kind of phony baloney of concession that will lure stupid Republicans to vote for the bill.

The question nobody is asking is will SCHIP be eliminated. The answer, of course, is no. Why? Because it will used to cover illegal aliens. Remember, with SCHIP 'children' aged 25 and younger are covered. Illegals will simply lie about their age and they get free health care.

PLUS, THEY'LL ALWAYS FREE HEALTH CARE AT THE EMERGENCY ROOMS.

Secondly, why are any R's still negotiating on anything other than state portability, tort reform, and catastrophic care?

Because something needs to be done NOW!!!

Also, because these a-holes in Congress are so out of touch with the private sector and actually paying for their own health care insurance, they have no idea how to 'reform' the health care industry to cut costs. None.

CONGRESS HAS NO BUSINESS REFORMING A PRIVATE SECTOR INDUSTRY. THIS IS NOT ONLY OUTRAGEOUS, IT'S UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND QUITE UN-AMERICAN.

It would have to be more than amnesty for people already here, since people sneak in/overstay every day--it would have to be a complete negation of laws regarding entry.  Which I can see them doing, but not just yet.

More likely they'll just maintain the status quo--clinics and hospitals will be required to treat them without receiving a dime in reimbursement from anyone.

The sarcasm is not over the fact that "The One" now wants to exclude Illegal Aliens from any healthcare option. And if you are so persistent as to suggest they point to those provisions actually in the bill, they will repeat what they were told and insist that's good enough. The only point was to give their jizz garglers just enough taste to keep pulling along for the lies of their cheap prostitute queen.

During that time he could've found a cure for cancer and still been portrayed as a devil. It's a brilliant plan Dummy

Sept. 14 (Bloomberg) -- China announced dumping and subsidy probes of chicken and auto products from the U.S., two days after President Barack Obama imposed tariffs on tires from the Asian nation.

Chinese industries complain that they’re being hurt by “unfair trade practices,” the nation’s Ministry of Commerce said on its Web site yesterday. The dumping investigation relates to poultry alone, a spokesman said in Beijing today. The ministry didn’t specify the value of imports of the products.

Rising protectionism may hamper world trade and undermine the global economy’s recovery from recession, the European Central Bank said last week.

You'd be correct, Dummy, under these conditions: if hope was "revitalized" by enslaving the future generations with crushing loads of debt, ifa "flatering superpower" was envigorated by conceding authority to the UN, and if these "wrongs of the past" were "corrected" by fanning the flames of racial and class hatred.  You know, Dummy, it's because of people like you that people like Jim Jones can get large crowds to willingly commit suicide.

How?  You mean like that supposedly "great" speech on racial harmony that nobody remembers.  Inspirational leaders lead, while posers merely talk and count on their sheep to remind everyone of said poser's "greatness".

I notice you didn't say "kids around the US".  It could be that even you know the tax burdens that await them due soley to Obama's fiscal policy.

The only thing Obama is inspiring many Americans to do is hide their money better - and to form better networks to get the word out of their displeasure with the current course of our government on all levels.

One was seeing Saxby Chambliss beat that asshole, Max Cleland. Another was seeing Coleen Rowley, the pro-al qaeda snitch at the FBI who should never been hired in the first place, defeated. And another bright spot was seeing Michelle Bachman reelected.

In 2010, it will be very sweet to see Joe Wilson get reelected. To be honest, if we win just three races in 2010, Wilson winning and Harry Reid losing and a Republican winning Specter's seat, I'll be happy.

119 The BS provision that allows people to get free treatment at emergency rooms has to be abolished. You pay, or you get sent a bill. And if you are identified as an illegal alien, you are held and Immigration is called and you're sent the hell home to your country of origin.

My sister and her husband ran up tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills because her husband had lousy insurance coverage through his union and they both developed serious illnesses. She spent years dealing with the hospitals, paying it off a little each month, and even had to take out a home equity loan to finally pay off the bills after her husband died. Meanwhile she's being taxed to provide FREE CARE for people invading our country and stealing identities, jobs and government benefits. Fuck that shit.

121 @ 112 It wasn't to "shop for (sic) more useless crap and build up their credit card debt to stimulate the economy", it was to not let terrorism interrupt people's routine.

Well, to a degree it actually was to encourage people to not let the economy falter in the wake of an already economy-damaging hit via the destruction of the WTC and investment prospects.

An example: When those two snipers, John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo, were off doing their terrorizing of the DC/Virginia area, people were scared away from shopping and purchasing in their usual manner for (understandable) fear of being, well, shot. Keeping commerce from flowing is obviously damaging to an economy. Thus, after 9/11 -- when people were equally unsure of how safe they'd be going outdoors for fear of terrorist attack -- it was necessary to encourage people to keep up their shopping routines in order to keep commercial prospects solvent.

122 President Obama can never please you can he?

He's doing the right things...so lay off on him for once. He's also taking a hard stance against China on trade...I'm sure you're surprised.

Can't Ace of Spades EVER have a positive post about Obama, without sarcasm? Will nothing the man ever does please you guys?

Here the troll says something (unintentionally) brilliant.

First, Obama isn't taking a hard stance on trade, he's bowing to his union buddies.  It is a Profile in Cowardice.  Everything Obama does is to encourage his coalition -- big corporations, big labor and big government -- the same coalition that was in Mussolini's Italy, where they called it "Corporatism".

But more importantly, we see that he's a liar.  Now we've known that he's a liar for a long time, but it's more easily discernable now.  As always with a liar, you ask yourself, "What's the angle?"  So like the boy who cried wolf, even if he does something we like, we won't trust him.  On top of that, he insults his opponents in the broadest and nastiest terms.  When somebody calls you nasty names, you tend not to give them the benefit of the doubt.

All other presidents have been publicly magnanimous.

But not Il Douche.

After all, there are many ways to be great:  Attila was great at setting pillaging hordes loose, Dahmer was great at shoving power drills into people's skulls, Vlad Tepes was great at impaling....see, plenty of ways to be great; I'm sure Barry's going to be great at something too.

124 > He's doing the right things...so lay off on him for once.

You know what would get us to lay off him? If he got into the habit of doing the right things FROM THE START, instead of his standard operating procedure of trying to sneak something by, getting called on it, spending a few days denying it, and then finally coming up with a half-assed way of doing something somewhat less destructive.

If a guy tries to mug you and then he backs off because he notices you're carrying a baseball bat, he doesn't deserve praise for having a change of heart.

125 Dum Dum,

I've written a song for you.  It's sung to the tune of Brandy by Looking Glass.

Dum Dum, You're a Fine Bitch

On the Jersey Shore in a bathroom stall
In the midst of grafiti scrawled
There's a hole in the piss-stained wall
That's where you put your dick

And there's a loser behind this glory hole
And he really loves to smoke some pole
When you're done on the toilet bowl
He's there to suck you off

The hobos say "Dum Dum you give great head
You're our favorite little bitch
You could probably suck the chrome
Off a ball hitch"

Dum Dum's shift goes all night long
Ten straight hours of sucking dongs
At three AM he's still going strong
And he swallows every time

A man came in from off the street
with fourteen inches of swingin' meat
Like a puppy on its mother's teat
Dum Dum started to suck

With eleven inches down his throat
Dum Dum gave it a backhand stroke
At thirteen inches he started to choke
So he finished with his hand

The hobos say "Dum Dum you give great head
You're our favorite little bitch
You could probably suck the chrome
Off a ball hitch"

Dum Dum really loves his job and he's saving up his cash
He's hoping someday he won't have to eat out of the trash
And Dum Dum got a second job besides the glory hole
By day he works for Axlerod as a troll

In the morning when his shift is through
Dum Dum goes home and sniffs some glue
And thinks of all the men he blew
while he's beating off

The hobos say "Dum Dum you give great head
You're our favorite little bitch
You could probably suck the chrome
Off a ball hitch"

The hobos say "Dum Dum you give great head
You're our favorite little bitch
You could probably suck the chrome
Off a ball hitch"

...we also affirm that we must not erect new barriers to commerce; that trade wars have no victors. We can't give up on open markets, even as we work to ensure that trade is both free and fair. We cannot forget how many millions that trade has lifted out of poverty and into the middle class. We can't forget that part of the freedom that our nations stood for throughout the Cold War was the opportunity that comes from free enterprise and individual liberty.
