Recap

Pic lifted from Gateway Pundit, with much more

Signatory: Leftist Historian Howard Zinn

Claim: He's not really a Truther

Evidence for His Claim: He says so

Evidence against His Claim: He's really a Truther

Fact: He's really a Truther

...

Signatory: Leftist Rabbi Michael Lerner

Claim: He's not really a Truther

Evidence for His Claim: He says so

Evidence against His Claim: He's really a Truther

Fact: He's really a Truther

...

Signatory: Leftist Agitator Van Jones

Claim: He's not really a Truther

Evidence for His Claim: Howard Zinn and Michael Lerner claim they've been somehow misrepresented, so maybe Van Jones was misrepresented too

Evidence against His Claim: Howard Zinn and Michael Lerner were not misrepresented, because they're really really Truthers

Fact: TBD*

* But note, pace Charles Johnson, "Truthers lie."

What can we glean from this?

That Trutherism is something you only engage in with like-minded fellows in the darkness, like those organized jockey-underwear trading rings that men go to, where they trade their used underwear with other men just to "see what other guys' underwear feels like." *

* What, no one else does this? Come on, tell me I'm not the only one.

Incidentally: I was rushing to finish the last post to head out for dinner, so I forgot to 1, close the tags and 2, h/t Ben Smith for eliciting this bogus denial from Zinn and Lerner.

He also let it drop that Lerner had said "weird things" about 9/11. I was already getting to Lerner next, but I moved faster once I had confirmation of what I'd already suspected, i.e., that Lerner would prove out to be just as big a Truther, and as big a Truther-Liar, as Zinn.

Ace -

There’s no need to lie about my position, Ace. I am not “supporting” or “defending” Van Jones, and I’ve made that extremely clear. I’m defending the apparently out-of-fashion concept that accusations like this should be based on credible sources, and not Truther sites and hate sites.

I think a lot of the scum like Jones,  Lerner and Zinn use groups of easily persuadable dunces and malcontents as pawns.  They wake up every morning and start the day with "What can I do to stick it to the man?  Fire up a bunch of misguided youngsters?  Sure,  why the hell not."  Looks like that stick they're using is pointed at both ends.  True colors are showing today.  Jones,  Lerner and Zinn are all painted with the same brush in a matter of hours.  And the name of the color on the paint can is "Pussy".

I stumbled into a particularly amusing/illuminating/frightening piece at Gawker that explained this is all about race (as if we didn't know) and that his toying with communism/Marxism was ancient history as proven by his organization's use of "wealth creation" to make green jobs.  (I found this piece while trying to ascertain what in this dude's resume qualified him as an expert in "green jobs," btw.  A fact that still eludes me.)

If any reporter does decide to pursue this (Jack Tapper, I guess I'm talking to you), I'd like to know (1) what aspects of Marxism attracted him to self-identify as one and (2) what changed that made him disavow this philosophy in favor of capitalism.

Unbelievable how CJ thinks.  He's gone after Robert Spencer, Diana West, Andrew Bostom, Fjordman, Pamela, and countless others in the most nasty and petty ways with such superiority and holier-than-thou platitudes and here he is being "fair" with Van Jones.  What a fucking tool.

116 Ben S. is a total pussy.  he refused to print the article stating Van Jones gave speeches on 9/11/02 with truthers.  After 5 emails, he posted a weak ass "update" with a sentence on van jones appearing at a "peace" rally with some truthers.

i think its time to lay out the case for "Appointment and Continued Retention of Van Jones Proves Obama is Himself a Radical"

i know some of you reject beck and his bullshit, and i agree with some parts of antibeck stuff, but you have to admit beck has brought many of these facts out.

its time to set the narrative.

1.  Valerie jarrett tape at nutroots conf - watching him for a long time, he's exactly what we wanted in the White House, etc.

2. thebigmoney article - that article is the Pelican Brief to the Obama administration.  we gotta put those quotes out there man.  The "switchboard" stuff? Incredible.  The planned use of Van Jones to both mold and sell the new Obama economy? That's the heart of the matter.  This is Obama's guy, and this article you found (btw the lefty who wrote it hasnt tweeted on van jones so far recently amazingly enough) is the smoking gun my man.

is anyone hasnt yet read this article, april 09 thebigmoney.com, on van jones, read it.

3. Van Jones Trutherism was obvious - not hard to show.  Point out the poll showing 56% dems sorta kinda believed truthers, and those people are obama's base, so it makes logical sense obama would overlook.

Game, set, match.  Obama proven to be radical by his critical green economy advisor appointment.

Van Jones will resign*, and he will have been forced to resign without the story being mentioned once on NBC, ABC, CBS, the NYT and Washington Post. The media of record can be bypassed and that is probably the best part of this story.

I was never registered at LGF, so I don't consider myself to be a lizard, former or otherwise.  I used to find his posts on the ID movement useful, but there's so much clutter over there now, and the comments section is so predictable, that I don't bother.

But for some reason you didn't answer my other question: were you directing your comment at the author of the posts: Ace?  Is he an obsessed cast-off?

I'm always curious when someone spends time on a thread critiquing the topic of the thread and the comments made on the thread and speculating as to their motivations... it's almost as if that person wants the thread to die.

Since LGF severed its relationship with AoSHQ quite a while ago over what Johnson found to be objectionable content -- and he saw fit to make a post on the subject so Ace and his legion of morons knew he disapproved of our behavior -- I really doubt the dude is worried at all about what we are saying about his blog over here.  I mean, he doesn't even read this blog any longer, does he?

Here's lil chuck johnson's comment from earlier in case you havent seen it:

The Birthers aren't harmless. If their claims are correct, then the US is under illegal rule and our troops are duty-bound to kick him out. This is the way to Argentina in the late 1970s and people disappearing from the streets.

It's as certainly not true as anything in the physical world can get, but the alternative is so dire that some unbalanced people might take matters into their own hands to "Save The Nation". It's Pascal's Wager applied to politics, basically.

Birthers ought to be accorded the same respect as Tokyo Rose, Lord Haw Haw and other committers of treason.

The bold part is my favorite part because David is saying that if the so-called birthers are right, then they're guilty of treason while Obama is only guilty of, oh I don't know, trespassing, perhaps.

Khrushchev then retorted: "You Americans are so gullible. No, you won't accept Communism outright; but we'll keep feeding you small doses of Socialism until you will finally wake up and find that you already have Communism. We won't have to fight you; we'll so weaken your economy, until you fall like overripe fruit into our hands."

Repugs must be denied any victory no matter how small as punishment for not accepting their LOSER status after the last election. If Repugs won't fire Senator Ensign for whoremastering and adultery, they have no right to ask for anybody in the other party to be fired for calling them A-holes. Sarah Palin committed ADULTERY says the same National Enquirer people who proved it about DEM John Edwards -- Nat-Enq doesn't care which party they expose and are not biased either way. If Palin's adultery is OK with repugs then they can just shut their immoral mouths. What about ADULTERER governor Sanford who flies by tax-paid air taxi to his dentist appointment or picnics? Jimi,

We have to assume these people are smart, not stupid. They know what happened to Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton - lost re-election and Republican Congress respectively. They know that this 'shock and awe' campaign they're waging is having an effect and waking America up. Part of me thinks they're driving on because the fix is in as far as electoral retribution goes. ACORN run Census, manufactured crisis....who knows what? The one thing I know is that they're not stupid and are running as if they don't care what happens in 2010.

I've sorta had it with Ground Chuck Johnson's strident know-it-all schtick for a while, but this pretty much tears it.

He's so determined to find enemeies to his right-when no conservative/republican has any real power on the federal level-that he ignores or defends the communist shitweasels that actually determine public policy in America.

Let me get this straight.  Glenn Beck is a talk show host on radio and tv.  Van Jones is a signed truther nit-wit, a long-time communist agitator and Barack Obama's point-man in a constitutionally questionable executive branch position.  So who's the worse dude in Charle's Johnson's worldview?  Of course, that would be teh Beckmeister.

I'd like to see it turn out differently, but barring some pull-back on Johnson's part, he's fast running into Andrew Sullivan territory for me.

215 Charles's meltdown is reminiscent of the way Thomas Edison reacted to the inventions of Nikolai Tesla. When Tesla stole the show by bringing continuous, safe AC power to the 1893 World Expo, Edison blew a fuse and started putting on shows where he would electrocute elephants to "prove" AC power was lethally dangerous.

Edison hoped that his fame and fortune would convince people he was right, where science and reason were proving him wrong. This does not mean he wasn't once capable of great works, but in his determination to bring down someone else whom he believes is threatening his glory, he left behind his reason and plunged his legacy into the shadow of inhumane treatment of animals.

I wouldn't go so far as to call Beck a "Nikolai Tesla," but the effect he's having on Johnson is so similar it's not even funny... especially at this particular point in time, when we need all the Edisons and Teslas to join together to fight the forces of hate and deception that are on the verge of throwing the entire world into a Dark Age.

216 Ace, I was very disappointed some posts ago when you said you had no desire to go at it with CJ. I'm glad there's been a shift in that position. Below is a good example why I never visit the site anymore, except for giggles. A commenter ask CJ a question about his position of birthers vs truthers.

Just want to get this straight:

Asking the president for additional information on his citizenship is kooky birtherism.

Asking the government in 2004 (well after all the reports were in and it was obvious too all what happened) to "investigate 9/11 more" is not kooky trutherism.

Am I on the right track?

Which is, in fact, CJ's position. The Lizard King's response...as if there was any doubt...

Jimi,

I don't know either. All I know is that there is some bad shit going down that reminds me of what my parents and I escaped to the USA from. The left operates out of bad faith in everything they do. That and their doing whatever it takes to win attitude makes it impossible to talk with them and harder to trust them. All I know is that the signs I saw last summer and fall are coming true, faster than even I imagined. And at least 52% of us pooh poohed those signs and told us we were paranoid or worse.

All we can do is watch, be healthily skeptical of everything that comes out of this government and keep our powder dry. IMHO.

Hi GOTC,

I agree. Mr Johnson doesn't seem to understand that the former greatness of his enterprise had more to do with the posters who contributed to it, than to anything else. I find that a common trait among those of the left. A basic misunderstanding of the fact  that we are all only as good as those who work for us, so to speak.

Once he started trashing the very thing that made him, the end result was predictable.

Posted by: Blazer at September 04, 2009 09:16 PM (+FzLa)

258 Look at the American Revolution in 1776. That revolution was for what? For land. Why did they want land? Independence. How was it carried out? Bloodshed. Number one, it was based on land, the basis of independence. And the only way they could get it was bloodshed.

The French Revolution, what was it based on? The land-less against the land-lord. What was it for? Land. How did they get it? Bloodshed. Was no love lost; was no compromise; was no negotiation. I'm telling you, you don't know what a revolution is. 'Cause when you find out what it is, you'll get back in the alley; you'll get out of the way.

The Russian Revolution, what was it based on? Land. The land-less against the landlord. How did they bring it about? Bloodshed. You haven't got a revolution that doesn't involve bloodshed.

And you're afraid to bleed.

I said, you're afraid to bleed.

As long as the white man sent you to Korea, you bled.

He sent you to Germany, you bled.

He sent you to the South Pacific to fight the Japanese, you bled.

You bleed for white people. But when it comes time to seeing your own churches being bombed and little black girls be murdered, you haven't got no blood.

You bleed when the white man says bleed; you bite when the white man says bite; and you bark when the white man says bark.

I hate to say this about us, but it's true. How are you going to be nonviolent in Mississippi, as violent as you were in Korea? How can you justify being nonviolent in Mississippi and Alabama, when your churches are being bombed, and your little girls are being murdered, and at the same time you're going to get violent with Hitler, and Tojo, and somebody else that you don't even know?

If violence is wrong in America, violence is wrong abroad. If it's wrong to be violent defending black women and black children and black babies and black men, then it's wrong for America to draft us and make us violent abroad in defense of her. And if it is right for America to draft us, and teach us how to be violent in defense of her, then it is right for you and me to do whatever is necessary to defend our own people right here in this country.

261 Twenty-two million black victims of Americanism are waking up.

And they're gaining a new political consciousness, becoming politically mature. And as they develop this political maturity, they're able to see the recent trends in these political elections.

They see that the whites are so evenly divided that every time they vote the race is so close they have to go back and count the votes all over again. Which means that any block, any minority that has a block of votes that sticks together is in a strategic position. Either way you go, thats who gets it. You're in a position to determine who will go to the White House and who will stay in the dog house. You're the one who has that power. You can keep Johnson in Washington D.C., or you can send him back to his Texas cotton patch.

You're the one who sent Kennedy to Washington. You're the one who put the present Democratic Administration in Washington D.C. The whites were evenly divided. It was the fact that you threw 80 percent of your votes behind the Democrats that put the Democrats in the White House.

When you see this, you can see that the Negro vote is the key factor. And despite the fact that you are in a position to be the determining factor, what do you get out of it? The Democrats have been in Washington D.C. only because of the Negro vote. They've been down there four years, and all other legislation they wanted to bring up they've brought it up and gotten it out of the way, and now they bring up you.

And now, they bring up you.

You put them first, and they put you last, 'cause you're a chump, a political chump.

In Washington D.C., in the House of Representatives, there are 257 who are Democrats; only 177 are Republican. In the Senate there are 67 Democrats; only 33 are Republicans. The Party that you backed controls two-thirds of the House of Representatives and the Senate, and still they can't keep their promise to you, 'cause youre a chump.

Anytime you throw your weight behind a political party that controls two-thirds of the government, and that Party can't keep the promise that it made to you during election time, and you're dumb enough to walk around continuing to identify yourself with that party, you're not only a chump, but you're a traitor to your race.

You look at the structure of the government that controls this country; it's controlled by 16 senatorial committees and 20 congressional committees. Of the 16 senatorial committees that run the government, 10 of them are in the hands of Southern segregationists. Of the 20 congressional committees that run the government, 12 of them are in the hands of Southern segregationists.

And they're going to tell you and me that the South lost the war.

277 The point of douchebag mcponytail's fighting this losing battle is he must point out what hysterical morons all right blog owners are. He's defending a guy he himself says he would like to see gone, and even offers reasons why we should hate Van Jones, but they are all consistent in that they are ones approved by Johnson and not the initial one that the right blogs picked up, because Johnson must show how superior to all you proles he is and how idiotic the right blog universe is and why he is now above all that.

His only argument now is gain-saying Ace, Allahpundit, and anyone else pushing the story. The "you can't trust truthers" argument falls apart when you prove that those whom Johnson is quoting and relying on for "truth" are, provably, TROOFERS! He's contradicting himself, and why? Because he'll never admit that the rightblogs got it right. He's also posting how stupid anyone is for not wanting Obama to address their kids directly. Why? Does he even care about the subject? No- it's just a way to poke a finger in the eye of any right-blog. That's all he exists for.

By the by, it has been PROVEN that a good number, if not all, of the "members" who vociferously defend Herr Ponytail are Charles Johnson's own sockpuppets: when you do this all night, every night, you make mistakes and forget to log out of one or another account before posting something from the site owners point of view: he has done this several times as Mandy Manners and other sock-puppet accounts, then quickly deleted the post or changed it to Charles- but not before a sharp-eyed member caught it. On Kirly's Bandemonium site there are numerous witnesses to this behaviour, which, by the way, only makes sense. No one on earth gives a shit enough to obsessively defend a site owner and attack his enemies but the person who is the target: witness Glenn Greenwald. He had to resort to sockpuppets to defend himself, notwithstanding his supposed army of liberal nutbags.

Charles posts as himself incessantly, he posts under a number of sockpuppets (weirdly, most of them are him pretending to be females, is this a psychotic thing or... hmm) and picks fights with every right blog on the net.

this guy is headed for a major breakdown. I'm going to predict his site will implode sometime in the next 12 months as Obama self-destructs. He has nowhere to go now, kind of like Arlen Specter.

speaking of breakdowns, Obama better make sure Van Jones walks through a metal detector before their next meeting. This guy sounds like he could try and go out with a "bang" if Obama is going to disown him.

"LGF doesn't resemble what it once was. Not even close."

 Nope.

I am a recovering LGF regular. I started posting at LGF in October of 2002. I haven't posted in a couple of months now. LGF was never a "conservative" site per se, but it was always a bulwark of anti-idiotarianism and a fun place to mingle. It's neither now. I certainly miss some of the commenters but I figure it won't be long before the conservative and anti-idiotarian ones tire of the bullshit and join the diaspora. CJ's tortured defense of Van Jones trooferism gives me hope that the trickle of lizards heading for the door may soon become a torrent.

Even if Charles Johnson were to drop his excruciatingly boring obsession with evolution, Birchers, and Creationist conspiracies, I can't imagine a scenario where I'd return. It's simply offputting to see a man stoke controversial topics, roam his own blog to summarily delete comments that he disagrees with, and then complain about being "targeted" by an assortment of villains. He might as well change his disclaimer in the Comments section to read "Any comment expressing a opinion contrary to mine concerning the topics of evolution, white nationalism, or creationism will be deleted and the user blocked".

Lastly, Charles certainly knows how to turn friends into enemies. Evariste, Reaganite, Rayra, Pamela Geller, Fjordman, V the K, Babbazee, and Robert Spencer used to all be prized contributors and now most of them hate the man's guts with a passion I've never encountered before.

310 I followed Chaz's place from not long after 9/11 'til a few months ago. Learned a lot about Islamofascism back in the day. I posted infrequently under Proximate, then later Consanescerion (the name relates to an event that happened later). Now I'm using my RL nick. I've never had much time for frequent posting on any site, particularly during the day.

Now CJ's got a twisted cult-of-personality thing going on over there. Even if it was still conservative, I wouldn't bother. Humor's became a punishable offense over there, as did all dissent. Those left there have internalized their oppression. They're like whipped dogs licking at Chaz's heels. Only the most obedient are left. Sick. It's like a psychiatrist's research experiment gone horribly wrong.

The comments here can be profane, the humor hard-edged, but that sort of freedom suits me better than totalitarianism.

He has banned more people than he has as commentors and no sane person could possibly care how his syncophants cringingly always mirror Chucks own opinions on everything. Chuck will brook no other opinions. Chuck is certainly unwilling to discuss his own positions: out comes the ban stick! So you have the LGF site filled with Chuck saying the same thing over and over and over and all his little myrmidons saying, "Me Too! Me Too!" in fear of the ban stick.

After going to great lengths to defend Jones Chuck says he is not defending Jones. But Chuck refuses to apply the same principle that 'clears' Jones to clear Spencer. Chucks principles only apply when Chuck says they apply. You can't take a principle and just use it across the board. That might use it up and then where would we be?

Nice work Chuck. That is some ego you have there. Have fun in the shadows...
