Levi Johnston: Sarah Palin Would Often Offhandedly Confirm the Left's Worse Suspicions About Her to Me, the Self-Declared Redneck Sticking it to Her Daughter
I don't know about you, but in my experience, whenever I was dating some girl in high school, her parents were always carelessly exposing family secrets in front of me.
The fact that I was sticking it to their daughter brought me fully within the family circle of trust. I became the family's therapist/financial advisor/lifecoach based just on the fact that I was ridin' dirty on their Precious. Whether it's divorce, or wanting to just quit the governorship and "take all the money," or suggesting that Bristol engage in the fake pregnancy ruse the unhinged left can't stop talking about, Sarah Palin just sort of let it all hang out in front of the rockheaded thug putting it to her daughter. You know, the way it always happens.According to Johnston, Palin rarely attended her son Track's hockey games, and she often complained about her job as governor, saying it was “too hard.” She often fought with her husband, Todd, who slept in a separate room during the Republican National Convention. And, says Johnston, “there was a lot of talk of divorce in that house … times when Sarah and Todd would mention it and sound pretty serious.” Johnston also reveals that Sarah asked Bristol and him to keep Bristol's pregnancy a secret. “She told me that once Bristol had the baby she and Todd would adopt him. That way, she said, Bristol and I didn't have to worry about anything,” Johnston writes. “Sarah kept mentioning this plan. She was nagging—she wouldn't give up. She would say, ‘So, are you gonna let me adopt him?' We both kept telling her we were definitely not going to let her adopt the baby. I think Sarah wanted to make Bristol look good, and she didn't want people to know that her 17-year-old daughter was going to have a kid.” When Sarah came back to Alaska following the election, Johnston writes, “Sarah was sad for a while. She walked around the house pouting,” and “a week or two after she got back she started talking about how nice it would be to quit and write a book or do a show and make ‘triple the money.'” According to Johnston, “She would blatantly say, ‘I want to just take this money and quit being governor.' She started to say it frequently, but she didn't know how to do it. When she came home from work, it seemed like she was more and more stressed out.”A few weeks ago, by the way, some blog or something pushed the "news" that Todd Palin was sleeping on the couch, etc., and the Palins were close to divorce, citing an "inside source." Well, as Johnston repeats that crap here, I guess we know he's their "source." He's pushing this crap even out to nobody blogs. It's not like he has some bizarre vendetta or anything, though. He was, for reasons unexplained, privy to all of the Palins' marital and financial problems and plans -- you know, like every guy is when he's laying it to a high school girl -- and is eager to tell the media all about it. Even bloggers no one's ever heard of.

I can believe that Palin offered to adopt the baby, but not under the circumstances Levi proclaims -- if it happened, I don't think that it was to hide the pregnancy, but more because she sensed the kids didn't want the responsibility. Also, I can believe that she and Todd have had problems, or that the kids do their chores. That's the thing -- I can believe some of this stuff actually happened, but I also believe he's putting the worst possible spin on it. I don't want to disparage Palin or contribute to the disparagement of her character, but I don't want to be naive, either -- and that goes both ways in this case.

Apparently Diane Sawyer is going to take over for Charles Gibson on ABC news. We should thank the higher ups at ABC, they are helping to destroy their network news. I mean how did Katie Couric work out for CBS. As much as i dislike charles gibson, Diane Sawyer may be considered a downgrade.
NBC is probably happy as clam. The rivals are destroying themselves. I am willing to be in 5 years that the big three audiences are down 10-15% more than now.

See for me the spin is so egregious that it puts everything he said in doubt. Even his wording of what she supposedly said "This job''s too hard. I want to quit and make lots of money." reads as the fantasies of a high school dropout who's headed to LA to make a living as Ricky Hollywood. Would be interesting to read the interview transcripts and see just how many leading questions the interviewer asked. He's not the brightest tool in the shed--he's just a tool--I would imagine that he needed help to even put this "story" together.
Sure, there may be some "truth" there: the kids might have "gasp" chores and she and Todd may fight, but that's not the "truth" of the narrative that he is peddling. He's confirming every last sordid suspicion of the left--that the Palin family is a horribly dysfunctional, white-trash family and we as a nation are so lucky to have missed out on putting such trashy people in the White House. His overarching narrative is what people are going to take from this and the whole story stinks. Which is why I'm perfectly willing to through the baby (an occasional truth) out with the bathwater (the poisonous narrative that only serves to feed the left's fantasies.)

If you go after Levi with the full power of the courts, what do you tell his son when he's old enough to understand?

I get the impression that Johnson thought he struck pay dirt when he knocked up the Governors daughter and was non to impressed when instead of getting the free ride he was expecting wound up being told he would have to step up and support his new family himself.
