First, as someone who took the three years out of my life to actually get through law school, I love it when some non-lawyer starts trying to string together an argument using legal jargon via definition. They labor under the impression that they understand the law. Instead, all they understand is how to open Black's Law Dictionary and use the English Alphabet. Second, to answer his dumb ass question about the damage to reputation, hey, Mr. Dumb-Ass lawyer wanna be, that gets to the last element of the cause of action, DAMAGES. So, in essence, dumbass, what you are admitting is that you have damaged Palin's reputation, but because of all these other things, the damage is minimal. Not only do I want the Palin camp to sue, I want this asshat to go in and represent himself. Bankrupting the coal industry looks to be going according to plan
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Patriot Coal says it's shutting down a surface mine in southern West Virginia as part of a strategy to concentrate production at lower-cost operations.
St. Louis-based Patriot said Monday workers at its Samples mine have been notified that they will lose their jobs effective Oct. 1.
The Boone County mine is operated by subsidiary Catenary Coal Co. and has an annual production of about 2.5 million tons.
Patriot CEO Richard M. Whiting says closing the Samples mine will allow the company to keep reserves until coal prices improve.
Last week, Patriot lowered its production estimates to between 33 million and 35 million tons in 2009, down from 34 million to 36 million.
Patriot operates mines in West Virginia and Kentucky.
