But Rocks, keep in mind, this is the same idiot that went on 4-5million dollar spending sprees. Money solved everything. I'm not convinced he had the mental capacity to make decent legal decisions. Jackson said he just wanted it to go away and money made that happen. I don't know, but I can see him thinking that way and not realizing the long-term consequences of paying somebody off.

In many ways Michael Jackson was simply the realization of a creature the media has been working on for more than fifty years. I'm talking about the Celebrity Freak, a creature who began as a musician or actor or athlete but ends by being an exhibit in a fifty-cent carny freakshow. Elvis was the vanguard, the eidolon of what was to come -- Michael Jackson was the full, fulminant, rotten flower.
Who cares now that Jackson once was a singer? His celebrity had long since left the realm of music. He fascinated the public in the same way that a gruesome car accident fascinates the passers-by. There is gore and wreckage, to be sure, but there is also a sexual prurience at play, a certain pleasure that this horrible spectacle happened to someone other than oneself. It is a horrible entertainment, but entertainment all the same. Look at the wizened carcass in Jackson's coffin. Bleached, blanched, hairless, scarred inside and out, ruined, weird, probably a pederast. This creature was once a handsome young man of no small talent...and yet here he lies, his soul a blackened little cinder. His family descends like a murder of crows to pick at the flesh, and caw angrily when anyone else strays too close. This, this is "popular culture". Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and others like them are handmaidens waiting for their day under the freakshow's kliegs. Madonna, that old whore, hawks tickets and steals the receipts. The rubes and marks in the audience don't come to see the freaks sing or dance. They come to see the freaks be freaks, and they hope and pray for the day when the freak finally collapses and dies on stage. This is entertainment. It is medicine for the deadly ennui of life in the richest and most powerful society the world has ever known. At the apex of our power, at the summit of our skills, we do not seek out museums or concert halls or galleries or even the comforts of hearth and home. No, we shuffle off to the ratty little carnival at the edge of town, plunk down our two bits, and watch the freaks caper. (Monty hates people. O yes he does.) Its too easy to blame Jackson's descent into crazy-town on the media. Was he a spectacle? Yeah he was, but so was Madonna. Madonna didn't try to buy the Elephant Man's remains, build a home amusement park or fondle kids. She just married a gay British guy and now sings with a British accent.
No, there was a special crazy to Jackson, you can blame Joe, you can blame his life in the spotlight growing up, but don't blame the media or the spotlight. Fame sometimes has a heavy price and people deal with it in different ways, but Jackson was in a whole different realm of crazy and I think it had to do with his wiring more then constant adoration and exposure. As I'm sure Queen Sarah will also note, the Democrats have been a great party for minorities. After all, they have run our inner-cities in a sterling manner for the past 60 years, what's not to like? Sure, crime is rampant, high school graduation rates are in the teens and there is virtually no family structure at all, but hey, the Democrats care about minorities and always say the right things. Sure glad we got this clean and articulate minority around.

Posted by: me at July 06, 2009 10:15 PM (7/syK) Don't believe a word of that bs. MJ was shrewd enough to screw Paul McCartney out of half the Beatles catalog. The guy was no dummy. It was all an act, along with Neverland, to appear harmless and get at children. It was no different than John Wayne Gacy and his clown bit except MJ didn't need to resort to killing. He just paid off the parents. All pedos have that schitck, most don't have the entire media helping them out like Jackson did. Candy, puppies, tickets, they all really "love" children don't ya know? Oh, no question. Yet there are thousands upon thousands who are equally mad and self-destructive. But the rich can afford to be eccentric rather than just crazy; Howard Hughes, for example. Poor crazy people (to paraphrase the manservant Hobson) urinate outdoors, have very few teeth, and freeze to death in summer. The media cares nothing about their comings and goings. But a celebrity! Ah, that changes things. With a celebrity it's not simply wealth; even rich people can go crazy in private. A celebrity, though, goes crazy on camera. The descent into madness is carefully chronicled, picked over, laughed at, and often abetted by the celebrity him or herself. Every arrest, every OD, every broken relationship, failed comeback, pounds gained or lost, is laid open like a gutted frog for the public to marvel over. And to a certain kind of performer -- an insecure kind, a person of mediocre talent but large luck -- finds this attention valuable. It is intrusive, embarassing, infuriating...but it beats indifference. At the very least it guarantees spectators at the funeral. Posted by: Monty at July 06, 2009 10:35 PM (9qrfj) 48

Yup. One of his accusers was shown to be a fraud, after claiming that MJ was circumcized. The police searched him and determined that he did, indeed, have a foreskin, presumably bleached as white as the rest of his body. But he was definitely a super-freak. Exhibit A is that he continued hanging out with children even after he paid millions to make it go away. Exhibit B is his skin, Exhibit C is his nose, Exhibit D was the pubic hair he had surgically implanted on his chin, Exhibit E is that he named his kid "Blanket," Exhibit F . . . If anyone has any real tangible proof, I'd like to hear it. I'm all ears.
I remember reading that one of the complaining witnesses was able to describe what kind of moles MJ had well enough for the sketch artist to match the sketch to the eventual photos that were taken (and having to get hauled into a police station to go through THAT the first time should have made it clear exactly how his behavior was being perceived). I would also love to see what kind of probable cause could have convinced a judge to order that particular warrant. Anyone who actually had such innocent intentions should have done everything in his power to prevent a re-occurrence, but the Jesus Juice was still being dispensed. And don't give me that BS that "MJ just wanted it to go away, so someone threw money at the problem until it went away". Anyone capable of tying his own shoelaces knows what a payoff looks like, and what it means. If MJ was so brain-dead that he couldn't, then any of the thousands of lawyers who were so careful about keeping the public at bay would have known what it looks like to pay someone off who has just made a criminal complaint of child sexual abuse. The DA will also have all of the evidence presented from his criminal case. Maybe you'll come to a different conclusion than the dozen star-struck jurors did. Acquittal is not the same as "innocent". It just means that the default position of our justice system that allows OJ and Baretta to walk away scot-free (and Phil Spector to do so twice in a row) means that yet another big-name star could not possibly be convisted of anything short of murder of a bus-load of nuns at high noon on live national TV. It doesn't mean that he didn't actually do it. If he were truly innocent, and had those resources, an attitude of "millions for defense, not one penny for tribute" would have been more appropriate, and I would have respected him a lot more. Just my $0.02... Posted by: Drumwaster at July 06, 2009 10:46 PM (DHt8f) 71

People have followed the exploits of crazy royalty since the Roman empire.
True. But the advent of mass media has made this unfortunate human tendency particularly fulminant. People might pass salacious rumors about the sexual predilections of Emperor Caligula, and speculate amongst themselves about the goings-on in the palace, but that's as far as it went. They didn't have fifteen different gossip-magazines, four thousand websites, hundreds of hours of television programming, and radio and satellite waves to pass the news. Or to pore over it night and day. We have become a nation of voyeurs, the kind of nasty looky-loos who crowd around car accidents to see if they can catch a glimpse of the poor torn body on the ground or the long smear of blood. It is one of our very worst characteristics as a species: that our "entertainment" comes not from the art these people produce but the wreckage of their lives. I can enjoy Hank Williams' music without knowing or caring that he drank himself to death; I can look at van Gogh's Starry Night and be dazzled and exalted, never minding that the man who painted it was as crazy as a shithouse rat. The art was the purpose and summation of their public lives; the rest passed away along with their bodies when they died. But the modern world has taken this obscuring veil away and laid the weak flesh open to public view. Who remembers Elvis now except as a flabby, sweating caricature of himself, hustling middle-aged women in a Las Vegas casino? He died on the toilet: what fun! Did he flush before he died? It was probably the first question the "entertainment press" asked upon hearing of his death. This, about a man who sang "That's All Right" with such joy and heart and abandon that the world was never the same again. But no: he is not the man who changed the world with his singing; he is the jumpsuited, sequined clown who died on the toilet. Let the veil come down, I say. A freak he may be, but even a freak deserves peace at last. Posted by: Monty at July 06, 2009 10:54 PM (9qrfj) 86

Michael Jackson reminds me of young Roman Emperors like Elagabalus -- young men so powerful that they could indulge their whimsies and eventually become freakshows.
Fans are overindulging in eulogizing Michael Jackson in part to assuage the guilt that comes with having played a part in making him emperor, and therefore having played a part in sending him to his doom. The fact that he is so pathetic is triggering some sort of mass guilt response which manifests itself as ululations at his demise. Posted by: caspera at July 06, 2009 11:25 PM (vSuMy) 107

this is pretty scary - anyone know what Bush's DOJ did on this?
I reported here that the Supreme Court was considering whether to hear an appeal from a decision of the Second Circuit upholding the dismissal of a suit by the victims of 9/11, their families, and their insurers against the Saudi government and the individual Saudi princes who personally gave money to Muslim charities they knew would be funding al-Qaeda's jihad against America. The Obama administration, I noted, had urged the Supreme Court not to take the case. The Circuit Courts of Appeals are divided on whether an exception exists to a 1976 law granting sovereign immunity to foreign countries for cases involving countries that sponsor terrorism. Last week, the Supreme Court denied the petition to hear this case. It did so, as is normal in these circumstances, without comment. As a result, the Saudi government and those institutions directly tied to it or to the royal family will not have to answer in U.S. court for aiding the terrorists who attacked us on 9/11. However, the suit can proceed against a number of Saudi financial institutions, charities and other groups. Sean Carter, an attorney for the families, predicts that "the presentation of our evidence against those remaining defendants will lead directly back to government offices and royal palaces in Riyadh." Monty, when I was very young, I went to an old-time carney freak show that was at the local amusement park. It was one of the last of its kind, complete with garishly painted pictures and a barker declaiming the wonders to be seen inside. I was curious, so I paid my quarter and went in. And yes, the people inside were freaks: the Fat Lady, the Tattooed Lady, the Sword Swallower, the Half Man-Half Woman. One guy was called the Human Corkscrew; he assumed one impossible position after another while stretched across three kitchen chairs - reading "Anna Karenina" the whole time. But the real freaks were the rubes shuffling around the sawdust while stuffing Crackjack into their faces, the girls mincing and feigning horror, the guys guffawing and making wisecracks. I will say this: the freak show never claimed to be anything other than what it was, sleazy entertainment for the great unwashed. No nattering nabob would think of discoursing on the significance of the Human Corkscrew's latest posture. No, we save that for our sophisticated, modern, up-to-date electronic age, which lets rubes congregate by the tens of millions. Time for bed. Somebody, please wake me when it's over. "O.J. was found innocent and that doesn't stop most everyone from saying he is a murderer to this day."
No one is ever "found innocent." O.J.'s verdict, like every other criminal acquittal, was "not guilty." All that that means is that that particular jury on that particular day decided that the People of the State of California had failed to prove each element of the crime charged beyond and to the exclusion of every reasonable doubt. As has already been said, that doesn't mean he didn't do it. News for the naive: while our criminal justice system relies on the presumption of innocence as a safeguard against governmental power, most defendants, including most defendants who get acquitted at trial, are factually guilty. Michael Jackson hated his race too - look at how he mutilated himself to NOT appear black! And he chose to use a white man's sperm and a white woman's eggs to create his children yet the media is holding him out there as a black man who crossed the race barrier? http://therawness.com/conservatives-and-michael-jackson/ But basically, the point is that with conservativism in the state it's in in the public eye, casting ourselves in the role of bashing Michael Jackson, idol of millions and American icon, after he's dead and while his fans are mourning, especially after he was acquitted and the molestation cases were flimsy at best, really isn't helping us at all. It looks ugly to the rest of the world and offers plenty of fodder to our opponents to stereotype conservatives as racists and the modern day equivalent of the uptight out of touch white dudes hating on Kevin Bacon for dancing in Footloose. The rage of conservative blogs over any and all Jackson coverage to me has been a bigger embarrassment than the actual media coverage I think. Posted by: T. @150
"But basically, the point is that with conservativism in the state it's in in the public eye, casting ourselves in the role of bashing Michael Jackson [...] really isn't helping us at all." Conservatism is doing just fine. It's the GOP (or the perception of it) that has problems politically. "It looks ugly to the rest of the world and offers plenty of fodder to our opponents to stereotype conservatives as racists and the modern day equivalent of the uptight out of touch white dudes hating on Kevin Bacon for dancing in Footloose." And that perception was going to be dispelled somehow? It doesn't much matter what the Right really does, now does it? Should we get a poll from MSNABCBSCNNNYT to see how the Right will be described? Sorry. Narrative already in stone. Getting cowed from describing reality due to what the PC crowd will say is not a threat any more. Posted by: AnonymousDrivel at July 07, 2009 05:32 AM (rZ235) 155
Uncle Tweets, take the person you consider the most influential public figure from the latter half of the 20th century. The one most deserving of public acclaim and memorializing. Okay, have a person in mind? Now multiply his fame and influence and celebrity by about 20,000 at least. That's about how big Michael Jackson was. So yeah, he doesn't deserve to be forgotten, no matter how much you like or dislike him. Just because we don't like the truth doesn't make it any less true.
I'm no fan of Princess Di and don't get the uproar over her, but I'm not going to deny reality and say she wasn't a major worldwide figure regardless. Posted by: T. AKA Ricky Raw at July 07, 2009 05:35 AM (YgEqn) 156
"Conservatism is doing just fine. It's the GOP (or the perception of it) that has problems politically."
Problem is, the average person conflates the two. It's a sad fact but true. "Getting cowed from describing reality due to what the PC crowd will say is not a threat any more." Pretending Michael Jackson was just another pop musician and that the frenzy over his death is media-created is not describing reality, its denying it. The media covers his death nonstop because that's what matters most to most of the world's population right now, not vice versa. The media is not creating the frenzy, it's simply reporting it. RE: T. AKA Ricky Raw at July 07, 2009 05:37 AM (YgEqn)
Michael Jackson was a train wreck and human tragedy. He was a world-renowned performer in a time long, long ago. He became a true freak, like it or not. Such a transformation is not to be praised, elevated, or admired. His current adoration is misplaced though the media will hype it and his death because it requires zero work and because tabloid material always does well. Its a self-reinforcing phenomenon that exploits the death of a troubled man. The nation needs to face ugly truths and differentiate that which is really admirable and that which is superficial... and respond accordingly. His deification is obscene no matter what he contributed once upon a time to the music scene. Raw has a point, albeit an unpleasant one. Evvvvrybody on this site has a favorite late-generation rock- or pop-type act, that was part of their childhood, and occupies a place in their self___ and personal history that, for millions of losers, is filled by M.Jackson. Yet you don't have to go back very far in conservative history--like the Sixties--to find the time when every youth-oriented act was reviled from the pulpit literally and figuratively, and characterized just the way we do the MJ phenomenon. Y'all people are cultural latecomers, adapted to the modern reality, and able to reconcile some very countercultural currents with a feeling of cultural conservatism. Believe me when I tell you that during my childhood this simply was not tolerated. As late as 1973, state Libertarian conventions featured the music of Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass. It was all the Sinatra version of "My Way," not Elvis'. Honest to Christ, in the 50's, conservatives looked askance at Beethoven. Mozart was the only way to go. Mahler? Forgett.Aboutt.Itt. Were millions of potential conservatives driven away from the rest of conservative values by this attitude? Certainly. Was this approach ideologically pure and high-minded? Undoubtedly (except in the case of some swingin' but safely dead composers whose biographies had been tarted up, or down as the case was, for safe family consumption during the American Victorian period). Someday you'll encounter conservative MJ worshippers. We already have conservative rappers, and five years ago that seemed beyond the pale. I won't enjoy it, and neither will you. And I do not like Michael Jackson or anything about him. But it's going to happen. The question is what to do about it. Here's some local news from Rep. King's district on Long Island:
Singing a profanity-laced rap song about the police while hanging out a car window on the Southern State Parkway got a passenger in trouble - with the police, authorities said. Sara K. Smith, 21, of Floral Park, told the state trooper who stopped her friend's car in Baldwin on July Fourth that she was rapping to a song by gangsta rap group N.W.A, police said Monday. "She then asked the trooper if he had ever heard of N.W.A," State Police spokesman Frank Bandiero said. The trooper told Smith he hadn't, Bandiero said. The trooper issued a summons to Smith for disorderly conduct, including obscene language and gestures, police said. The passsenger had been singing an expletive-filled song off the group's 1988 double-platinum selling album "Straight Outta Compton." The song, "-- tha Police," went on to have an enormous impact on the evolution of West Coast rap. But because of violent and sexual lyrics, often directed at government agencies such as the Los Angeles Police Department, N.W.A was banned from many radio stations and even prevented from touring. A state police spokesman said the incident occurred near Exit 20 on the Southern State after the trooper, alerted by motorists, saw Smith hanging out of the passenger window of a car, and heard her shouting obscenities about the police. In his narrative of the 8:35 p.m. incident, the trooper called the driver "apologetic" and said of the passenger: "I counseled her on her behavior." Ermmmm....do those retards who claim the lack of a criminal conviction means "innocence" forget the millions MJ spent to "settle" in civil court? Just like OJ, who (thanks to me) beat a murder rap yet lost in civil court and was assessed huge fines (which he never paid). It's the "standard of proof", folks. You might not be convicted for murder, but (like OJ) there may be plenty of evidence that you caused someone to die, enough for a jury to say you committed a tort, if not a crime. Get it? I now return to my mink-lined crypt.

I hear MJ said and TV that he did "sleep" with children in a loving way not a sexual way. That still makes him a prevent and molestor in my mind. And he builds "Neverland" to lure children to him. Yeah he had talent, but was a very sick person. But he is in God's hands now. We have our opinions, but He'll be the judge. P.S. Why are the blacks so proud of him, when he tried to turn white and his children were white donors...doesn't that tell you something???????????? #178 - Posted by: Jim at July 07, 2009 07:57 AM Very true Jim. But - some folks will believe anything is true, when a court decides to merely hear the case. Jackson was ripe for accusations like this, and two people tried to take advantage of that. If Jordy Chandler's parents were so worried about Jackson possibly harming any other child, they would have stuck with the case and gone to trial. I'm sorry, but money would not have bought off peace-of-mind if my child had been molested. I can assure you it wouldn't have purchased peace-of-mind for my parents after they learned I had been molested by my uncle. Michael Jackson's career was built around his persona. Building a successful persona meant he, and/or his handlers, needed some pretty solid reads on public opinion.
I can't think of any time in recent American history when public opinion of grown men taking other peoples' little boys into their own beds, even for "COMPLETELY INNOCENT PURPOSES" would ever, ever, ever, fucking EVER be considered okay. So he knew that shit was going to go sideways, and did it anyway. Because he was fucking creepy. I don't care whether he was really a pedo or not, what matters is that HE DIDN'T REALLY GIVE A SHIT WHETHER YOU THOUGHT HE WAS FUCKING LITTLE BOYS. sense that if he's mentally and emotionally frozen at 11 years old he'd
be hanging with other little boys.
Complete bs. Every person who knew MJ personally says he was never like this in private with them. It was a persona. The frozen child meme is a complete creation of the media and apologists. The rage of conservative blogs over any and all Jackson coverage to me has been a bigger embarrassment than the actual media coverage I think. More bs. What does thinking celebrating MJ is wrong have to do with conservatism? That MJ was a media created freak and a pedohpile is a belief which crosses all spectrums and ideologies, the same as his proponents. I'm no fan of Princess Di and don't get the uproar over her, but I'm not going to deny reality and say she wasn't a major worldwide figure regardless. Okay now I get it. Princess Di wasn't a major worldwide figure. If she hadn't croaked she would be a footnote. Also it's dumb to suggest that because there were only 2 public accusation he's innocent as serial pedos can't stop. Who says he ever did? The fact that he routinely paid off parents is well known. There are tons of parents willing to sell their kids for a shot at the good life, it's hardly new to MJ and is as old as hollywood itself.

Reported approvingly by you txpayer-supported NPR: Even many blacks who weren't Jackson fans were outraged at the rampant speculation the media engaged in about the singer's personal life and past legal troubles. In Los Angeles, visiting pastor Al Sharpton publicly chastised the media at Sunday's service at First AME Church. "When you had had other entertainers that had questions in their life, you did not degrade and denigrate them before their funeral like you did Michael Jackson," he said. Really, Al? Name "other entertainers" (that would be "white entertainers" in Al speak) who were accused of child molestation -- twice -- and went on to enjoy continued fan worship. "Other entertainers" would have seen their career ended. Period. They would not be grearing up for 50 sold out shows at the time of their death. Saying that the media is only reporting the hysteria and that conservatives are denying reality is ass-backwards and the mark of a shit head troll who is himself denying reality.
The media created MJ and they are milking him for every cent they can get. Yeah. Everyone has their childhood rock star. Hah, Elvis came about during my childhood and I didn’t go into hysterics in 1977 when he died on the toilet.
And BTW, Elvis was a LOT bigger than MJ and the media didn’t go into the 24/7 adulation they are now. I blame it on two things, the advent of 24/7 cable news and the further commercialization of the “news”.
They haven’t been news for a long time. They are now info-tainment. Their refrain in the 50s and the early 60s was that they were “headline” purveyors because they could not do in-depth in half an hour. Well, they went to a one hour format and still didn’t explore the depth of the stories. Now they have 24 hours and they just fill the time with the the dead celebrity/missing babe of the week.

#229 Posted by: polynikes at July 07, 2009 09:01 AM And I'm pointing out that you can't do math. Check when the allegations by Jordy Chandler were made, and the time-frame he said the events happened. Then check when the 2nd allegations were made, and the time-frame (documented in the Bashir special) the 2nd child said the events happened. Both children "came forward" relatively quickly, after the alleged events took place. I didn't remember what had happened to me for at least 30 years. Had I remembered sooner, I can assure you I would have said something. The 12 year span of time between the Chandler accusation and the 2nd accusation (with Jackson) proves that if Jackson were the perverted fuck everyone WANTS to assume he was, he was undoubtedly doing this same thing to hundreds of children, for a few decades, at least. I'm not suggesting other victims will not come forward in the future, but merely stating that usually when one child comes forward, more come forward (if there are more to come forward, that is). In this case, it's only been 2 children, one of which was proven untrue in a court of law, and one who's parents wanted money and nothing more. You're insinuating that other parents are keeping quite for all these years because they are either being paid off, or are just being nice? Get real. If there are other victims and their parents haven't done anything before now to get this supposed child molestor off the streets....They are just as guilty. No one will convince me that NORMAL parents, after having learned of something like this, would simply take money instead of getting this guy off the streets and away from any kids. The media made a huge fuss about her engagement, wedding, public appearances, the causes she championed, her break-up and, of course, her death. Personally, I don't think she was worth 1/10th the coverage she received, but she was a phenomenon. Like Vic said, the media creates larger than life figures for $$$. How about those in private sector that worked the 4th? Pick your own small example of those in private sector we all count on without thinking. I mean, let's get real. How many of you on 4th needed a cop, firefighter or teacher compared to a Carl's Jr. burger, or El Pollo Loco taquito? Were you all happy Albertson's was open? Talismen
You are expending a lot of energy to argue elaborately that Michael Jackson wasn't provably a pedophile. Maybe you're right, but it doesn't matter. A grown man in his 40s who admits on camera that he likes to share his bed with little boys deserves whatever shitstorm of opprobrium is sent his way. He should be treated like a de facto pedophile. Occam's Razor would suggest that he in fact was. And it doesn't matter if the parents were greedy. Even if MJ wasn't guilty, that proves he's a psycho. He insisted on putting himself in a compromising position a second time knowing what happened the first time. So, you are essentially saying "He wasn't a pedophile, he was a psycho!" Not exactly a rousing defense. The angels do not weep that a man who confesses to sharing his bed with little boys is labeled a pedophile. Posted by: caspera at July 07, 2009 09:36 AM (vSuMy) 277

# 276 - Posted by: caspera at July 07, 2009 09:36 AM Your points are valid. I'm not saying they aren't. I'm just pointing out that there's a reason Jordy Chandler didn't go to trial with his case, and that was most likely because it would have ended much like the 2nd one. A child who truly goes through such a thing, with parents who are interested in protecting other kids, doesn't take a pay-off and then stop the proceedings. How MJ is judged beyond the natural life here on earth isn't in our hands. And I'm not one of those people who believes I "get to" make those judgements because of my faith. If he was crazy - then he's crazy. He has himself to thank for the many names he's been called over the years. But, his "crazy" was born out of the shit he took from his father. Being beaten for getting dance steps wrong, is insane. We didn't much care for the spectacle of how Jon Benet Ramsey was treated by her parents, whoring that child out for nothing more than beauty pagents and admonishing her when she wasn't "pretty enough" to win...So why are we giving Jackson's father a break, when it comes to being the "monster" in his life that laid the basis for MJ's mental instabilities? Parents of child stars do this shit, and then wonder why their kids get screwed up later in life. They have only themselves to thank. Not to mention the fact that Joe Jackson took his sons to some really freakin' nasty places to sing, when they were kids. I'm talking whore houses, strip joints, you name it. All for money. No child that age should see that kind of crap. Posted by: Talismen at July 07, 2009 09:54 AM (hosSA) 297

The anchors were saying that even though it's early, there's a big crowd already assembling, and the stupid woman marvelled that "it's so calm!" What is she expecting? People screaming and throwing themselves on the coffin and knocking the corpse out, the way they did when Ayatollah Khomeini died? People are there because it's a spectacle, not because they're insane with grief.

Jackson was unquestionably a weird guy, but that doesn't make him a pedophile.
Any man who shares a bed with little boys during overnight sleepovers is a pedophile. Period. Use your head. Did he have girls sleep over? No. What's up with that? I thought his excuse was he just loved all children? But not girls? Did he magically understand that sleeping with them would be inappropriate, but was too "innocent" not to understand that sleeping with boys would be inappropriate? What would you think if your neighbor did this? Would you say, "Awww... he's just eccentric"? I doubt it. I've been hit on by pedophiles ... twice. I know exactly how these predators operate. Neverland Ranch? Nothing more than a honeypot for young boys. If a pedophile likes teenage boys he'll try to lure them with video games, porn and booze instead. He was acquitted in a court of law, after a very humiliating physical inspection that belied his accuser. I always wondered, at the time, why no one was pointing the finger of accusation at these childrens' parents.
I don't believe Michael Jackson was a child molester. I remember, with a mixture of tears and smiles, what a phenomenal talent he was, how watching him perform, in his prime, sent an electricity through anyone who witnessed it. RIP, Michael Jackson. You were weird and sad in many ways, but your gift was real and you gave it to a world that you frequently found cold and critical and unwelcoming. RIP. So ....Farrah Fawcett goes to heaven & St. Peter tells her she has one wish, before entering heaven. She then wishes that all the children of the world can be kept safe. Her wish is then granted & Michael Jackson is sent to hell.

I notice a mistake being made on the subject of MJ and pedophilia.
Evil parents suing MJ falsely or extorting him, and MJ being a pedophile are NOT mutually exclusive. In fact, in the case of the 22 million dollar settlement, both where most likely true. Posted by: Percopius at July 07, 2009 04:55 PM (oRERN) 332
WHAT A FUCKING BORE! WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON? WHO CARES WHAT HAPPENS TO A MIDDLE-AGED-OVER THE HILL-TEENAGER-SHOWBIZ-HAZBEEN WHO HASN'T BEEN CREATIVE FOR DECADES? Posted by: 7HEAVENS at July 07, 2009 08:19 PM (/tx1x) 333
Regardless of Peter King's personal feelings on Michael Jackson, he is a Congressman and possibly we learn to expect a certain amount of professionalism and decorum from our elected officials. (ha ha) instead of YouTube rants of malicious accusations . A good blog on this today is http://newsy1.wordpress.com As Newsy1 points out "Maybe he will get elected as dog catcher after this.
