6 This is America, I suppose. You're free to go and espouse your brand of Big-Government and call it what you want. I call it propaganda, or outright lies.

Maybe if you guys would have been a little more vocal about massive gov't expansion, reckless spending and federally-supported corporate greed during the Bush regime, this country wouldn't be stuck in the rut that it is.

I hope some firecrackers blow off your teabags.

9 Wow. SO homesick today! Usually here in London, I have a 4th party and stick a big sign on my garden wall for all the neighbours to see: "WE WON!"

This year, especially after all the shite-mouth, I'm just sitting here drinking beer by myself, mad at the whole fuckin' lot of Them, listening to Rush and Levin online, and wishing I was sitting back in MN or WI, talking to my 80-yo-Vet Dad, trading talk on all that's going on.

He's not home, though--(can't even talk to him, dammit!) He and Mom are down in La Crosse with friends, going to the Tea Party in Copeland Park.

Damn, I wish I were there!

ENJOY, Morons! Bittersweet Celebration, but we'll come through all of this!

So, where's  the outcry by the left, of the really, really, really, really massive expansion of federal government that's going on right now?  Remember when Dems thought that a $400 billion budgetary deificit was bad? Guess you're onboard with the likes of GE, GM, Chrysler, and Goldman-Sachs playing footsie with the fed, since the fed is Obama now, right?  Guess what, it's your turn to exercise some fiscal responsiblity.  The trolls on this blog are fucking stupid.

So because Bush did it, that makes it okay for Obama to quintuple it? It  wasn't okay then and it's even less okay now. That's why the Repubs are out of power, not because we needed a professional spendeer in office. This guy is trying to ruin this country. Why don't you open your eyes and look past the rhetoric? This is about getting rid of all of them, not just one party. Asshole!

Ours was on the 2nd, but I didn't attend this time because Ron Paul was a speaker. Yes, he is our representative. *spit*  Also, the John Birch Society had a speaker there. *another spit*  Our last party had 500+, but this one was only about 200. Fellow-citizens, we cannot escape history. We of this Congress and this administration, will be remembered in spite of ourselves. No personal significance, or insignificance, can spare one or another of us. The fiery trial through which we pass, will light us down, in honor or dishonor, to the latest generation. We say we are for the Union. The world will not forget that we say this. We know how to save the Union. The world knows we do know how to save it. We -- even we here -- hold the power, and bear the responsibility. In giving freedom to the slave, we assure freedom to the free -- honorable alike in what we give, and what we preserve. We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth. Other means may succeed; this could not fail. The way is plain, peaceful, generous, just -- a way which, if followed, the world will forever applaud, and God must forever bless.

--- A. Lincoln

43 To liberal assholes:

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

I just got back from one here in KCMO. We had people lined up on both sides of State Line Rd seperating the Kansas and Missouri. I would estimate that there was about 600-700 people there.

I was going to go to another one at the Plaza at noon, but my kiddos are getting cranky and tired. I am going to let them rest because our neighborhood is going to have a big Independence Day party tonight. We have a lot of firefighters and police officers (SWAT) where we live. There is going to be a fire engine for the kids to look at and the firefighters are going to turn on of the hydrants for the kids to play in.

Sweet! I just passed the citizenship test on MSN with a 95%, only question I missed was who the chief justice of the Supreme Court is.

I haven't decided what I'm drinking tonight yet, still paging through all my cocktail books to find something appropriately patriotic that involves lots of booze. That way, when the neighbors set the neighborhood on fire with their illegal fireworks (we haven't had rain in a couple of weeks and everything is bone dry--this is extremely rare for the Seattle area) I'll already be heavily medicated so probably won't care so much.

I'll try to do better next time, I just hope they'll post the locations ahead of time like they did in April so we can just show up.

88 Hey, wherestherum, long time!  There's a tea party in Woodland Hills, here's the info:

Saturday, July 4, 2009
1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Warner Center Park
5800 Topanga Canyon Blvd. at Mary Lee St (sidewalk)

Posted by: CB at July 04, 2009 01:53 PM (9Wv2j)

89 One was scheduled here in West Lafayette, at the same location as the first one that featured the original "Tea party Babe," but it is pouring rain and it won't stop today.
That also means no grilling, so I'm taking the family out for dinner (steaks or mexican).

Posted by: Brad at July 04, 2009 01:57 PM (LZs5x)

90 CB! Thanks for the info. That's actually pretty close to me. Are you going to be there?

Posted by: wherestherum at July 04, 2009 02:04 PM (gofDd)

91 Closest one to me is in La Canada, just north of Glendale. They want 10.00 a ticket though, too rich for my blood

98 Charging for a tea party? I see the capitalistic side of this, but I thought we were protesting being overcharged? Odd.

I'm kinda of the same mind about staying close to home, CB. Love holidays but that is when all the drunks come out and wreak havoc. There's already an 8 car pile up on the 405. But since there's a mall close to the Woodland Hills party I might do some shopping and drop by.

Although RightWingSparkle didn't visit the booths, the Birch Society (and Ronulans, and worse) were in force in yesterday's Tea Party in Houston as well. At least one wanderer of the crowd was wearing a 9/11 troof shirt.

Newport News City Center today--turnout was decent, approx 100 people.  As we're in the cradle of rebellion, near the site of the great Battle of Yorktown and the great tourist trap of Williamsburg, we had a large colonial presence, making me somewhat out of place dressed as a Roman centurion.

We had some clever signs, a few hotties, some MILFs, libertarians, veterans, secessionists, and dachshunds (seriously, I think there was a weiner dog event going on).  I overheard some of the Fair Tax/2nd Amendment types talking about carrying ACORN repellent.

I was a little annoyed at one of the speakers making a case about Obama's origins, which ain't gonna help the cause.  One young kid got up and made some pretty hilarious remarks about Cap and Tax, saying that he may try to get a patent for CO2 breathalyzers, which of course are only used by asthma patients.

kbdabear : I don't know how likely Charles is to link to my webpage on the topic, as he's fresh off banning my ass, but he probably knows about it. I took that pic of the nirther chatting with the troofer, for a start. And any other nirther placards were not hard to find there and we will be seeing them in twitter feeds and Facebook as the hours move past.

I am glad Charles banned me; for a start I can speak freely now at Ace's, for which he has banned others. I persist in maintaining that his site is anti-conservative, and that he's in the moral wrong on a number of his stances. I do not want my LGF account back. So with all that said: on this account I am in complete agreement with Charles.

Our organisers in Houston tried to keep the nuts off stage but they did not screen the booths, they did not care about the placards people carried, and they did not (effectively) remove the troofers.

Which makes me feel bad because I lifted two of her pics, and reacted against her content. Just because I disagree with her, in part for ethical reasons, does not mean I condone cowards who make threats against her person. I wonder who it was; I'm guessing a Leftist, and I wish the pondlife had shown up so I could have yelled at him too.

But then the cops would have just hauled us both off to the same cell. As Dkshideler said, "what ya gonna do".

142 The Pasadena rally was underwhelming. 40-50 folks at most.

The speakers were trying really hard, but focus was a problem.

A couple pro-gold-standard guys and a guy with a hardon for the Federal Reserve and "secret banking" ( I think he MAY have meant joooooos) stuff. These people were skating across the Ron Paul Ice but never came out and said it so I don't know for sure.

A nurse who was concerned about indoctrination in schools and the weight of book bags causing osteoarthritis.

Several well-meaning and very pissed off folks that seemed to really have a tough time getting the emotion out.

The last guy we listened to was way way way way too concerned about what goes on in other people's bedrooms for anyone's good. He had fire, but he sounded almost as controlling as the Marxists he was condemning. Way too concerned with sexual morality and not concerned enough about taxes and government control.
Personally, if two guys stop humping each other long enough to vote Obama out of office so my son can have a good future, I'm OK with that for now.

Pick your fights people!

No real nuts or counter-demonstrators.

There was a an old hippy guy wandering around the crowd trying to get people to say stupid things so he could repeat them later. I'm pretty sure he had a recorder in his breast pocket. He kept chumming the water with inane setups like " I bet lots of these folks have a stockpile of guns" and similar stuff to provoke a sound-byte. Nobody took the bait. He was hoping to break an assassination plot or militia story, I could tell.

A moonbat couple wandered in about half way through and made a big show of shaking their heads and smiling smugly at whatever the speakers were saying. I haven't seen two people work that hard at looking amused and condescending since...April 15th.

All in all, a decent afternoon's intro into America for my little boy.

I absolutely, unreservedly support this process and this movement. It is vital to the continuation of our Republic that more people participate in civic assembly and the redress of grievances.

It's a bit too late and my memory isn't working properly on this one, so I'm not going to mention it up on my page, unless I find someone else who took their own picture.

There were a lot of pictures and videos I should have taken, and didn't think to. I am not a trained journalist and boy does it ever show. But so far, nearly everything I've claimed to have seen, which I didn't take a shot of, has been photo'ed or at least corroborated by someone else. I think the point has been made and the warning shot has been fired. The Tea Party people here are aware of what happened, they've got their evidence, and now it's up to them to clean up their rooms - before someone does take videos which go viral.

150 I went to a tea party in Stafford Virginia for about five minutes.  There was some gun rights lobby types handing "guns save lives" stickers which 90% of the people were wearing.  Obviously they were mistaking guns for antibiotics, a common enough mistake.  Anyway since a kid of mine was at Virginia Tech during the massacre I did not appreciate the implied connection that opposition to bad government equals the right to be sexually infatuated with guns so I promptly left.  I hope other tea parties were attended by relatively normal people.

154 I went to the St. Paul rally.  It was raining by the time it was supposed to start so I sat in a friend of mine's car and we talked until it looked like the organizers decided the rain was light enough to actually start.  For awhile it looked like it was going to be canceled and several people took off but there was probably a good 3-500 people who decided to stick it out or showed up after the rain let up.  It was not too bad.  Some of the speakers need to practice in front of an audience though, especially without a mike because the sound system was static from the rain.

The Libertarian party spokesman looks and sounds very much like Don Knots.

The ron paulites were there as well.  I also heard some idiot say something good about Paulstone and there was a lady with an obama pin that showed up.  Wonder if she was looking for a confrontation?

157 Crystal Lake, Il Tea Party - 750 people

there were about 750 people in crystal lake, Il. it should be noted that the vast majority of these attendees had never been politically active, nor had ever been to a protest before the series of tea party protests started. in other words, these are people who have never done this! plenty of people drove by and honked in a show of support. the protesters barved the rain, some under umbrellas, some under the drizzling sky, waving thier signs, refusing to waive thier rights.

i talked to people, and listened to what they had to say. there is definitely something growing here that can not be ignored. this movement will continue to grow. our elected officials should note that there were no protests of this nature when clinton was in office, so these protests can not be dismissed as post-election sour grapes.

overwhelmingly, people voiced thier concerns about the ever expanding debt under this administration. people are concerned about cap and trade, and are incensed over the looming obamacare.

so, the main stream media can make fun of the tea party protesters all they want, but the fact remains that this is significant, and will continue to grow. the fact that these are people who have never protested anything before is incredible. what we are seeing across the US is a silent majority finally speaking up for the first time.

are you listening washington?

I went to the Central Valley Tea Party at Tulare, CA.

Estimates of attendance numbers range from 15000 to 20000.

People are angry and wont be content with simply gathering together at events for much longer. And that's coming from Californians.

Not all Californians are big city libtards. There's a large batch of folk in that AO that are old school hard work oriented with strong streaks of individualism and deep pride in those things that have made our nation so strong in the past.

I went to the tea party in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  We lined the street with our signs and many of the people in the cars passing by were honking and indicating agreement.  The paper today had a good and fair article.  The organizers estimate there were about 7,000 people.

Also the tea party group here is starting to organize turnout at the town meetings of our Congressional representatives.  I did not make the Senator Tom Udall townhall earlier in the week but reports are that several hundred people were there and that he was bombarded with many less than friendly questions.  Evidently he was quite "taken aback."  I did make the Representative Martin Heinrich meeting.  It was totally scripted with the coward only taking questions on cards and then screening those.  However, even there people had signs and he got some heckling.  He had the nerve to note that he read the cap and trade bill.  "Can I tell you every little point in there.  No.  But I have read the Bible as well and can't tell you every point in there either."  Oh brother!

167 Tucson Tea Party.  TPD says 4000 people at its height, whoo-hoo!  Started out about 4:00 PM but at first few were willing to brave the scorching Tucson heat.

All sorts showed up to the event, including: a cowboy with a flag, hot biker protesters, hot protest babes (I think they're twins!), and even a hot protester in a tricorn hat.
