Thank God for our Revolutionary Founders! That includes every one of those ragged, barefoot, starving, sick, freezing, brave men who fought and WON LIBERTY for us all, and their good wives and children tending the home farms and business, fully supporting their fighting men.
Thank God for Providence. May We Ever Be True to Our Constitution. Have the fortitude to demand Constitutional compliance from our legislators and elected officials. Happy 233rd 4th! Over at Gatewaypundit they have the text of the Repubs radio address given by John McCain. Very well done (even for McCain) as it not only ties in our 4th of July celebration and what it means to us - but ties it to the Iranian protesters and voices strong support for the protesters while kicking Obama in the balls:
My favorite part: “They are not fools, these brave and determined Iranians. They are on the right side of history, and the cynics among us, who think them fools, are on the wrong side. Liberty and justice will someday be theirs. Let us hope they will have reason to remember then, who their friends were in their struggle for freedom. Sitting here at my computer in the People's Republic of Taxachusetts, I hear fellow citizens enjoying their Second Amendment protected rights over at the local sportsmen's club. Something quite loud, in groups of two. Large caliber pistol?
It gives me hope that liberty can last. Posted by: fluffy at July 04, 2009 09:10 AM (QEoPe) 15

To keep cool while wearing Red, White and Blue clothes today (100% made of nylon & polyester) I found out that spraying myself with starting-fluid REALLY keeps me cool! The ether evaporates quickly (faster than water) and in the process cools you right down. So to stay on the cool/safe side, carry a can of it around and remoisten yourself while you're working hard lighting fireworks to make this independence day unforgettable for all! So, I'm doing my part to educate him despite the public school system. Everyone be safe and I'll be raising a glass to the brave men and women in our military who make it their job to ensure the freedom that our forefathers fought so valiantly for lasts. Happy Independence Day everyone!!! We celebrated on Thursday with an "official"function-but it was really beautiful. The host country officials and military all brought presents and flowers to celebrate, as one general put it, "America's birthday!" They were more proud of our country than some of our own administration. Then, dadgum it, they brought in some hack who mangled the Star Spangled Banner. I know it's a difficult song to sing, but just sing it-don't make it pop, or rock or try to change it from what it is. Other than that, it was great. I was proud to be American, and proud to celebrate my country's history. Now, we just need to link arms, and get back on track at home. We'll be there in a couple of weeks, and our arms are ready.
Prayers to the men and women in the military who are standing watch, prayers for their precious families holding down the fort at home, and prayers for fellow morons-I hope you have a wonderful, blessed holiday!!! Moki Posted by: mokimoki at July 04, 2009 01:30 PM (jeb4N) 57
My Dad's side of the family immigrated from Scotland in 1916. They did it legally and properly first seeing the Statue of Liberty after the long voyage then passing through Ellis Island.
