Conservatives Are Nothing But Terrorists And Traitors

You'd think with liberals running everything in sight they'd calm down a little but no, they some how have become even more unhinged since the start of the Age of Obama.

Take these two examples...

Paul Krugman says voting against the recently passed climate tax is "a form of treason — treason against the planet"

And the Speaker of the California State Assembly says this about conservatives having the temerity to voice their opinions.

The Republicans were essentially threatened and terrorized against voting for revenue. Now [some] are facing recalls. They operate under a terrorist threat: "You vote for revenue and your career is over." I don't know why we allow that kind of terrorism to exist. I guess it's about free speech, but it's extremely unfair.

You'd think given California's financial situation, one of the people responsible for the mess would have the good grace to STFU but again, not so much.

The thing I love about Democrats and liberals is their ability to project. Just about everything the accuse Republicans and conservatives of is actually what they do. Bushitler never questioned anyone's patriotism, never harangued anyone for good faith disagreements or demonized an opponent simply for exercising their right to speak.

And yet, this is the kind of language we regularly see from the party of "dissent is the highest form of patriotism".

I'm reading Jonah Goldberg's Liberal Fascism, and recommend it very highly. Goldberg gets to the heart of the matter in this passage, on page 158-9:

"Progessivism, liberalism, or whatever you want to call it has become an ideology of power. So long as liberals hold it, principles don't matter. It also highlights the real fascist legacy of World War I and the New Deal: the notion that government action in the name of 'good things' under the direction of 'our people' is always and everywhere justified. Dissent by the right people is the highest form of patriotism. Dissent by the wrong people is troubling evidence of incipient fascism. The anti-dogmatism that progressives and fascists alike inherited from Pragmatism made the motives of the activist the only criteria for judging the legitimacy of action."

45 What I love about Democrat politicians is also what I predicted when arguing a D dominated legislature & WH wasn't a disaster in the long term.

They simply cannot help themselves from saying and acting on those radical left impulses that for so long had felt the need to keep hidden.

They have been fooled by their own press that those radical roots are now mainstream.

So they now openly agitate and legislate for a socialist state that just will not work given the current bureaucratic infrastructure and the underlying zeitgeist of the general electorate.

They are scrambling to fill the bureaucratic void with endless czars and legislation to construct a majority welfare state. But polls are steadily moving in the other direction. The further their masks slip, the less the electorate trusts them.

This is how the long slide to socialism potentially will end.

Again, the caveat is that we risk losing the opportunity to right this nation by taking the easy road, electing and re-electing those Republicans who do not have the fiscally and judicially Conservative ideals at heart. Doing so will just repeat the cycle of ineffective government that for the last 30 years has moved us further to the left than those like JFK jr would have ever thought possible.

We must excise those who cannot be depended upon to vote according to their campaign promises. We must elect in their place individuals with the strong convictions of limited government and a leashed (constructionist) Judiciary.

I acknowledge the argument that first we must take power to effect change, but my counter is that we had exactly that scenario a few years back, and we accomplished nothing due to the likes of McCain & Graham and a raft of other politicians that traded their collective influence for individual power and profit.

47 It's all about silencing the opposition folks.

If we make anyone who disagrees with the democrats a terrorist, well, we can silence their voices. Maybe even jail them (surely the wet dream of many party hacks.) Then the democrats can remain in power forever, and turn this nation into some sort of socialist/communist paradise where conservatives are the only ones who work. To support all the democrats on welfare and unemployment of course.

Mark my words- when there is another terrorist attack it will be blamed on "domestic forces" which translate as... gun toting, God loving, Bible reading conservatives. Even if the conservatives happen to be named Mohammad and Achmed and live in Saudi Arabia, they'll spin it to blame conservatives.

"Republicans upset that a political opponent labeled them unpatriotic?

Oh, boo friggin' hoo.

Recovering your sense of irony is also a critical step on the Republican's trip back from the wilderness."

I take it that your answer is "Yes."

87 So poon, you didn't answer the question. Do you think what the speaker said is acceptable? or not?

Stace, do you think it's acceptable for toby to call everyone he disagrees with a Nazi?

#87--and you're expecting a sane rational, topical answer from that?

90 I mean, I am a Nazi, or at least an admirer of their tactics, as is my Unholy Lord and Saviour Obama...but it's impolite to point it out.

91 Look, stace, since poon clearly isn't going to answer, allow me. His answer is "yes." He thinks what the speaker said is acceptable.

94 "Patriotism is love of and/or devotion to one's country. The word comes from the Greek 'patris' However, patriotism has had different meanings over time, and its meaning is highly dependent upon context, geography and philosophy.Although patriotism is used in certain vernaculars as a synonym for nationalism nationalism is not necessarily considered an inherent part of patriotism.  Among the ancient Greeks, patriotism consisted of notions concerning language, religious traditions, ethics, law and devotion to the common good, rather than pure identification with a nation-state. Scholar J. Peter Euben writes that for the Greek philosopher Socrates, "patriotism does not require one to agree with everything that his country does and would actually promote analytical questioning in a quest to make the country the best it possibly can be."

Since I get called a racist, sexist,  and/or homophobe by every liberal that I disagree with, well, too friggin bad you got called a Nazi.  Recovering your sense of irony is an essential step. But, go ahead and drop a "we won" on us so we can realize we won the argument.

I guess it's about free speech, but it's extremely unfair.

Oh, boo-freaking-hoo, did someone not get their way? Go pout in the corner. It's like my mom said to us when we were little and she wouldn't buy us candy at the grocery store. "Life isn't fair, suck it up."

Also, no one threatened me into voting against yet more tax hikes (oh, sorry, "Revenue"), that would have been my own conscience dictating my vote. It's not like they pay attention to the voters anyway. Gay marriage voted down? No worries, will just have the judges fix that. You don't want to pay us more taxes? We'll just raise your car registration fees, and whatever other fees we can think of. Don't worry, we know what's best for you!

This is the same line of entitlement thinking we heard from Arlen Specter.  The line that sent my mom & dad (PA residents) over the edge was when Specter puffed himself up and said he had no intention of letting the PA voters end his 30 year career.  Hey Specter, you dumbass, you work for them. Not the other way around. YOU SERVE AT THE VOTERS' PLEASURE.

Same mantra from this whack job.  All legislators, even CA repubs, work for the voters. You REPRESENT them for chrissake.  If you FAIL to REPRESENT them, they have every right to vote yerass out.

Has the American gimme / it's mine mentality seeped into even state legislators?

Wait, I know the answer to that...

The tense is probably wrong, but evidently there isn't a single example in the entire world of changes in greek words based on tense, just 400,000 websites explaining what the word "tense" means, which I already knew.

Either that or interpol has successfully cracked down on people who give examples of verb tenses, the bastards.
