| NRO: Obama negotiates with terroristsAs Andrew McCarthy says, "prepare to be infuriated." Even as the mullahs are terrorizing the Iranian people, the Obama administration is negotiating with an Iranian-backed terrorist organization and abandoning the American proscription against exchanging terrorist prisoners for hostages kidnapped by terrorists. Worse still, Obama has already released a terrorist responsible for the brutal murders of five American soldiers in exchange for the remains of two deceased British hostages. ...About two weeks ago, the Obama administration released Laith Qazali after extensive negotiations with the Asaib al-Haq terror network. That network has long been in negotiations with the fledgling Iraqi government, dangling the possibility of laying down its arms, renouncing violence, and integrating into Iraqi society, provided that its top members — particularly Qais and Laith Qazali, as well as Ali Mussa Daqduq — be released. Realizing, however, that these terrorists were responsible for kidnapping and killing American soldiers in gross violation of the laws of war, the Bush administration had declined to release them. The Obama administration has not only released Laith Qazali, it has been in negotiations to release his brother, Qais Qazali, as well. The negotiations and release were carried out in flagrant disregard of the longstanding policy against exchanging prisoners for the release of hostages. Undermining that policy endangers all American troops and civilian personnel — as well as the troops and civilian personnel of our allies — by encouraging terrorists to kidnap them to use as bargaining chips.Put that cup of coffee down, take your blood pressure medication and read the whole thing. Obama thinks he shits skittles and that all he has to do is open his mouth and people will change their behavior (see Cairo speech and Iran results).
I dare say this guy has a bigger ego that Sadam or Li'l Kim, and it's going to get a lot more people hurt or killed. Posted by: I have a Jalen Rose jersey at June 24, 2009 09:33 AM (4yrb2) 6

I ain't reading the entire article because I'm not in the mood to get pissed off. Does it say whether the released terrorist was invited to the Fourth of July White House BBQ? Because that would be something Bush wouldn't do, which means that Obama must have at least considered it. It would be a good opportunity for Obama to apologise to them for whatever US policy forced them into terrorism. Posted by: Hollowpoint at June 24, 2009 09:43 AM (plsiE) 14

Here's the Cliff's Notes version: Quds Force-trained terrorists hit a meeting in Karbala, killing one of our troops and kidnapping four others, who they later murdered when rescue teams were closing in. For that alone, the ones we captured should have been squeezed of every drop of actionable and strategic intel, then had their balls chopped off and stuffed in their mouths before they were hung from lampposts in front of the other prisoners. That's the axe WE have to grind. This is where the Brits come in: The story of this deal with the devil traces back to May 31, 2007. At the Iraqi finance ministry in Baghdad that day, the Asaib al-Haq network kidnapped five British civilians: an information-technology expert named Peter Moore and his four contract bodyguards. The civilians pleaded for the British government to engineer their safe return. British, American, and Iraqi forces were unsuccessful in numerous rescue attempts. If that doesn't make your blood boil, then FUCK YOU. I don't want to know you. We spend our lives and treasure to give these ungrateful fucks the freedom to indulge their pussy-ass passive-aggressive hatred of all things non-Muslim? Fuck that and fuck them with a white-hot diamond-tipped American chainsaw. I'm coming back around to my opinion of Iraq, formed in 2002: Kick their ass and take their gas. Put their entire country to the torch and walk away. When I am in charge, these motherfuckers will taste the jackboot, I promise you that.

Weird, it doesn't seem like so long ago that "revolution" seemed a quaint, archaic term with regard to this country. Remote, something you saw at arm's length in the history books, or saw in some other country on television, or used as a rhetorical flourish for a change in the balance of political power. Only wackjobs on the far left and far right thought of it as anything more immediate and literal. Maybe that's still the case. But maybe not. Posted by: Speller at June 24, 2009 11:42 AM (fh5Oy) 81
So he traded terrorists for dead people? Well I can see how that's a fair deal.
Under normal circumstances terrorists would never trade one of their own just to kill some people; so that must have been difficult negotiations to persuade the terrorists to accept back one of their own in return for a couple corpses. By a "difficult negotiation" I mean not laughing at Precedent Obama as he was trying to explain how the terrorist would live, allies would still die; and this would somehow be seen as a fair exchange. I'm not sure how they did it. Maybe they explain their hysterical laughter was part of their internal negotiation and was simply in a language Obama didn't understand. Clearly he'd be stupid enough to believe that as well. I wonder how many opportunities for this we'll have. It's a good plan though. Step 1: US Catches suspected terrorist. Step 2: Terrorists kill Americans or allies, and keep the bodies. Step 3: Obama trades live terrorist for corpses. Rinse, repeat. We'll have this war won in no time. With planning like that, how can we possibly fail? We have a leader capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory; what more could we ask for? So he traded terrorists for dead people? Well I can see how that's a fair deal. It's a transaction that perpetuates itself. (Think about it.) Posted by: FireHorse at June 24, 2009 12:24 PM (jMk+v) 89
Why is anyone surprised? Didn't the Traitor In Chief campaign on the promise that he would indeed "engage" our enemies? Any day how, he's going to bow to the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

I am sickened. History has shown that it doesn't take long for the crazies of the world to smell fear and stupidity in a leader: Heres hoping that whatever "manmade disaster" our enemies cook up is unleashed in the heart of blue country. Maybe then they'll get it... at least for a few more years, til their next bout of mental lapse and group stupidity. Dissolution? I'm in favor of it.

#94 Oh, my.....you so belittle our efforts. We do much, much more than just negotiate with this human sewage - we are (or soon will be) a terrorist sponsoring state! Aren't you proud! Yes, that's Your Tax Dollars At Work! I refer, of course, to the billion we have approved and that is waiting (I think its still in waiting) for transfer to the goons at Hamas, because the Palestinians are so maligned.....And, I'm sure that they've promised to use every dollar to assist their impoverished population....
