1 The hardest part about getting my Ph.D. wasn't the work, it was the unofficial vows of poverty and chastity I had to take.

londonmark, I am actually in Santiago, Chile, as I type this (the all-day rain has made for good surfing/posting conditions).

Chile has been gorgeous: saw Viña del Mar and Valparaiso Wednesday: beuatiful.  Unfortunately, since it is winter down here snow came on the passes and I could not take my second intended tour of the Andes.  Also, rain dampened (literally!) my brief time in Stickholm but I did get to see a lot of Jönköping.  I doubt I'll end up seeing much of Gothen burg, but at least I can save it for seeing with my future wife.

I'm near the centre, just off Agostinas.  No funiculars, just stuck to the bus, but enjoyed the architecture (did not know it was a UNESCO site).  Also probably gave the guide new info as I pointed out the Rodin sculpture (La Defense) that he did not know about.

26 Levin made a very good observation about Boxer.  Lib women have always wanted us to recognize and look at their genetalia. Calling her maam is doing just that.  I guess now androginous labels are more befitting a lib woman whose genetalia is probably as fun to look at now as a burnt roast beef and grilled cheese sandwich.
