| Department of Defense Adapts to Age of ObamaThe written exam, given as part of Department of Defense employees’ routine training, includes a multiple-choice question that asks: “Which of the following is an example of low-level terrorism?” — Attacking the Pentagon — IEDs — Hate crimes against racial groups — ProtestsCan you guess the answer? The DoD test, Obamified for your protection, says the correct answer is the last -- "Protests" are a form of "low-level terrorism." Seriously, it does. From Commentary, noting that in ObamaSpeak, "protests" are "terrorism" and "terrorism" is "man-caused disasters." Now I begin to understand Obama's refusal to support the protesters -- The United States doesn't deal with terrorists. Comments1
I "low-level terrorism" this question and everything that it implies. I also have exercised enough of my 2nd amendment rights that I might could qualify for a couple of those other answers if I thought the price was right. Posted by: pendejo grande at June 19, 2009 06:14 PM (gudTT) 2

I think they worded the answer wrong, because isn't it only protests by conservatives that are an example of low level terrorism? Everyone knows that when liberals protest it is the highest form of patriotism. /sarc Posted by: ParanoidGirlInSeattle at June 19, 2009 06:19 PM (AJ4xq) 4

To be honest, cherry picking this question is fun, but the DoD isn't just ready to ship us off to the camps yet.
The question (in the larger context of the training) is talking about protecting yourself while overseas. There are places where, if there's the usual spring protest going on, it's a good idea to avoid them. Posted by: XBradTC at June 19, 2009 06:29 PM (mXKb8) 15

There are places where, if there's the usual spring protest going on, it's a good idea to avoid them. Good point. In Korea, you can set your watch by the anti-American protests. It's mostly college students (and Nork infiltrators) and they work them around their exam schedules. I hate the imperialist Americans and their lapdog puppet Korean administration! And I will fight them to the DEATH!!!!*

"To be honest, cherry picking this question is fun, but the DoD isn't just ready to ship us off to the camps yet."
No... but by changing the definition of "just words," all the craziness of the Patriot Act is retargeted. Half the issues with the Patriot Act in the first place were in figuring out "Ok, so who does it -apply- to? It says -terrorists-." Now... protesters are terrorists. "Low level," perhaps. And you can somewhat see the applicability if you squint. But... this redefining ordinary words crap - which comes out of the whole Living Constitution thinking - just leads off into crazyland. Hell, they called -Lauria-, a white-shoe lawyer a terrorist for standing up for his bond-holder clients. I wonder if his phone was tapped. Posted by: Al at June 19, 2009 06:36 PM (CyBUS) 24

Hit nail on head again. O'oompaloompa will not speak out against the crack down on peaceful demonstration because he will need to use same tactic here at home. When unemployment hits 10% nationwide, well above that here in California already, and when taxes go up there will be protests in the capital. Bank on it. Why did billions of dollars need to go to volunteerism and community organizing groups? Because he needs a group "as well funded as the US military" to put down the peaceful protests.
