3 am and Iranian people get voice mail

President Obama has shown his true colors and the back of his hand to the Iranian people. He believes his cult of personality is capable of winning over the Mullahs and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and damn these pesky protesters mucking up his plans. There is a sadly accurate piece by Robert Kagan that shows how Obama's embrace of realism has him abandoning millions of people clamoring for freedom.

Once he made the decision to support the totalitarian government in Iran he threw the populace under the bus. I remember the days when the left was always the voice of the oppressed. Now the most liberal President in history can't even find the time to ask his new buddy the Supreme Leader to stop slaughtering innocents in the streets. Obama has staked his claim on the fatally-flawed idea that his personality and background actually matter to tyrants and despots and that if he pisses on everything America has done before he ascended to his throne they will change their evil ways and love him us. Well all that sweetness and light and milk of human kindness shit doesn't seem to be doing much to stop the Basij from beating and shooting the nascent revolutionaries.

Say what you will about W, but his second inauguration speech laid out a vision of an America that believed in freedom for all. Like it or not we are the only country that can serve as World Police. Obama has replaced the global 911, with a voice mail message saying "This is the White House, we are unable to assist you as we are busy bankrupting our country and turning it into a socialist hellhole."

Again: Unfuckingbelievable!

Time's Swampland blog:

There is no question that President Obama's more prudent path is the correct one right now. There is also no question that the neoconservatives are trying to gin up this situation into an excuse for not engaging with the Iranian government in the near future--and also as a rationale for their dearest, looniest dream, war with Iran.

It is not even clear that Ahmadinejad--who has significant backing from the sort of people who support Republicans here (the elderly, the religious extremists) plus a real following among working-class Iranians--would have lost this election, if the votes had been counted fairly. (I tend to believe that they weren't counted at all, but that's just my opinion.)

I never thought I'd say this but to hell with our president.  Screw him.  I survived eight years of Clinton and never thought that.  Clinton was a slimy jackass, but that's how politicians usually are.  His affair with Monica was pure comedic and political gold.  And when pushed into a corner, Clinton could work with the Republicans.  Only Nixon could go to China and only Clinton could sell the Democratic base on welfare reform.

There is nothing redeeming about Obama.  Not.  One.  Single.  Thing.

The worst part is watching/listening to liberals bend over backwards to defend Obama and his choices.

4 Well sure but Barack is the smart guy from the smart pary and GW is teh stoopid guy from teh stoopid party. Once you have the narrative down, it's a lot simpler. None of that pesky thinking required.

Obama does not want the revolt to succeed - plain and simple.  Can you imagine if the American people got the idea that they could revolt over election fraud.  The 1ster would be in serious trouble.

No - better that this "let's keep everything legal" shit is nipped in the bud.

That idiot Klein also said Iran was breezy with freedom. Which I'm sure is why there's all that protestin' going on, too much freedom.

Posted by: I have a Jalen Rose jersey at June 17, 2009 02:11 PM (4yrb2)

8 Right now, as you are reading this, traitors within our own 3 branches of government are tirelessly working to destroy our Constitutional Republic. Never before have they seen so much success. They care not one whit about our freedom, nor the freedom of anyone else in the world. They are our very own domestic enemies, and they will come for your liberty or your life.

Never, ever, give up your guns.

9 Obama want's to be the guy that solves the worlds problems. He can't support something that won't give him all the credit. The egoism is nothing short of revolting. He cares not the well being of those protesters who are putting their lives on the line, but rather for the ability to claim the credit for achieving some sort of resolution.

Per the TIME article, what's most amazing , is that no matter what he does, his followers think it's the best decision that could have been made.  No analysis needed, the 0 said it, so it must be great.

Posted by: I have a Jalen Rose jersey at June 17, 2009 02:23 PM (4yrb2)

10 I don't know on this one. I don't support Obama on anything has set forth but I am fearful that if the U.S comes out forcefully now that it will play in the mullahs hand. They will unleash the murdering Hizzbolah against their own people. It seems at this point people are looking for a lot more reform than just the other guy in power. Don't know of course just a guess. Just maybe if the people continue on this path and they can turn the Revolutionary guard to their side. Then Obama will need to come out for the people of Iran. Right now he is hedging his bet.
Remember Obama is never for anybody except himself.

Posted by: lions at June 17, 2009 02:24 PM (DBun7)

11 What is hilarious is that Andi Sullivan keeps writing about how collected and cool Obama has been during this whole protest, that he's been doing the exact right thing.  In the same breath he slams the "neocons" for complaining and accusing them of simply wanted to go to war with Iran.  For some reason, when I hear Sully (or any moonbat) use the word "neocon" I hear them really using the word jooo.  It's always a neocon conspiracy, I think he's been reading the Protocols of the Elders of Neoconservativism.

My rule of thumb: If someone uses the word 'neocon' then they aren't neither worth listening to, nor respecting intellectually.

When I see some of my suffering friends--scratch that, "acquaintances"--who supported O, I feel like telling them it's easier to maintain that fake "it's all good" smile if you go to the dentist and get it Novocained on.

Is Botox working on a fix?

Neocons are the new "Jews".

In addition, when someone like Klein writes about what is happening in Iran at the moment and instantly resorts to bashing the United States, well... that tells you a lot about that person.

It amazing that these leftwingers are so quick to compare Republicans to the Iranian theocratic Mullahs, but are the most inclined to appease those same theocrats, while Republicans want to help overthrow the Iranian Mullahs.

This Orwellian propaganda is almost funny, but its not.  It is pure madness...

19 Freedom? Over-rated. What you need to worry about is SAFETY!!!!! Just appease the tyrants, and they will stop killing people, and Utopia can be ours. Think of the Children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ever notice the far left NEVER uses the word "Liberty"? They dabble with the word "freedom" because "freedom" can be twisted into a myriad of self-serving definitions. But LIBERTY, that is a word that echoes with meaning, and one that rings hollow on the pathetic pandering of those who would turn us into a nation of slaves. "Equal" slaves, but slaves none-the-less.

Give me Lliberty, and help those who who stand up to tyranny.

Sic Semper Tyrannus.

I disagree that libs have been for unsuppressing the oppressed. Not in my lifetime, anyway. The libs have been all about playing the useful idiot to whatever the tards in europe can gin up as something to pick at America for. And, when it comes to wanting the oppressed freed, as long as they're not commie bastards doing the oppressin, then fine. Otherwise, it aint oppression, it's workers paradision.

Also, I disagree with the idea that Obama is doing anything other than backing the side he has always backed. He's against America and for those who stand against America. There's absolutely nothing in the man's past to counterdict that and far too much pointing at it.

The man is not being naive. He's doing what he's always intended to do. Further the aims and goals of our enemy.

"There is a [link omitted to avoid getting post rejected again] that shows how Obama's embrace of realism has him abandoning millions of people clamoring for freedom."

The Messiah (PBUH) is against freedom here, so why would he be in favor of it anywhere else?  Remember, as he and his followers said: he is "ready to rule".  He never wanted to lead.
