This Is Getting Good

Geoff's chart on Obama's bullshit unemployment projections went viral in several incarnations and has been featured here in all of them.

I couldn't help thinking that the chart has been noticed in the right places, when I saw this quote from Vice President Joe Biden on Meet the Press Sunday morning:

Vice President Joe Biden says “everyone guessed wrong” on the impact of the economic stimulus.

Geoff:

There have been few cases in politics where one party so completely and unequivocally owned a piece of legislation. Joe is a desperate, desperate man to even try to revise that history.

Geoff ruthlessly dispenses with Biden's pap here.

Check out the bullet points, especially. "Everyone," Joe?

5 So let me see if I got this straight:  The Vice President, Sheriff Joe, who was personally handed the responsibility to manage the spending offered up by the his boss's Stimulus package, is now publicly stating that the whole thing is a complete and total failure?

Does Obama know that about this little piece of honesty being offered up her by Slow Joe?

The day where Joe has to step down "to spend more time with his family" is getting closer and closer.

At the $75 trillion deficit level a family of four owes $1 million, he said.

17 Everyone guessed wrong about how stimulus was intended to help the economy instead of act as an absurd payoff and make-work boon for Dems.

It was never intended to make things better, and in fact has (and will) serve its purpose of locking in votes for Dems.  Even if the country goes into the shitter (not a game-killer for the Dems) they will use the spending to remind people of how well the gubmint takes care of them.

Healthcare will do the same. And there's not much hope of turning back from either the stimulus or healthcare once committed.

Thanks 52!  You're so much smarter than us.  I kinda feel embarassed that I even voted, and now know that I should just stay at home and let my betters take care of everything.

Now, because of the greater loss of jobs and deeper recession, that huge deficit is going to be even bigger than they were promising it would be--wait for the chart for those revised figures-- it will likely chill your bones.

And, despite their touting 'slowing' unemployment increases, there's no end it sight.  Unemployment continues to rise, and no one's being hired.

Biden's interview with David Gregory on Meet the Press re: Healthcare.  Unbelievable.  I have to give Gregory credit for not soft balling this interview.

MR. GREGORY: Well, let's talk about healthcare. Because if there's a fiscal train wreck, in the view of many, you're adding healthcare and insurance for everybody on top of it, which is expected to be at least a trillion-dollar new entitlement. How do you possibly pay for that?

VICE PRES. BIDEN: You pay for it by the way we've laid it out. We pay for it by eliminating some existing tax cuts that are out there, you pay for it by reforming Medicare and Medicaid, you pay for it by getting rid of the Medicare advantage. You pay for it by a whole range of things which we've...

MR. GREGORY: Including raising taxes.

VICE PRES. BIDEN: Including--look, the taxes we're going to--that we propose to raise, to raise $300 billion, says that people making over $250,000 should have the same deduction schedule that they had with Ronald Reagan. Instead of it being 39 percent, it should be 28 percent. That's how we come up with an additional $300 billion.

MR. GREGORY: Right. Will the president sign a bill that taxes healthcare benefits for employees?

VICE PRES. BIDEN: We made it clear we do not think that is the way to go. We think that is the wrong way to finance this legislation.

MR. GREGORY: So if the bill comes with that...

VICE PRES. BIDEN: But--no, no, no.

MR. GREGORY: ...the president wouldn't sign it?

VICE PRES. BIDEN: I didn't say that. I said when the bill is going to come, this is the most--this is going to be one of the most comprehensive changes in law since Medicare in the beginning. We'll have to see what the whole bill says. But we made it clear we do not believe you should be taxing, taxing the benefits that people receive through their employers now.

June 15 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama told the nation’s doctors they should support his health-care overhaul plan because the current system is turning them into “bean- counters and paper-pushers” rather than healers.

Obama, in a speech to the American Medical Association in Chicago, said physicians and hospitals are being rewarded for ordering procedures instead of for how they care for patients. He said that while the cost of malpractice lawsuits is “a real issue” for doctors, he won’t support capping damage awards.

I'm surprised that Barry didn't say he was the only thing between them and the pitchforks. I'm sure a lot of these people in attendance supported Barry. Now they have his knife if their back. Maybe it will get them out of their cult like trance.
