Clinging To His Religion: Obama Invokes Jesus More Than Theocrat Bush Did.

I presume they aren't counting every time He says "I" either.

Jesus, like patriotism, is cool again. Thanks Obama.

More than four months into the Obama presidency, a picture is emerging of a chief executive who is comfortable with public displays of his religion — although he has also paid tribute to other faiths and those he called “nonbelievers” during his inaugural address.

Obama’s invocation of the Christian Messiah is more overt than Americans heard in the public rhetoric of Bush in his time in the White House — even though Bush’s victories were powered in part by evangelical voters.

...Obama’s public embrace of his Christianity so far has not included choosing a church in the capital, and he has attended Sunday services only once since his election, on Easter Sunday. The White House said at the time the family was still looking for a spiritual home in Washington.

Funny how the rules seem to change so suddenly. It might have something to do with the fact that most liberals probably don't think he really means it.

The story goes on to talk about how it was a political danger for Bush to talk about his faith but for Obama it's an opportunity!

Gee, I wonder why it might have been dangerous for Bush to be seen as too religious?

Might it have been because he would get smeared and ridiculed by his supposed betters on the left? Naturally, it never occurred to them that perhaps Bush was simply a main of faith who, despite the left's nightmares to the contrary, never wanted to impose his faith on others or seem to be disrespectful to fellow citizens who didn't share his faith. Nah, couldn't have any of those things.

Being a liberal or a member of the MSM (BIRM) means never having to say you're sorry.

1 The difference, DrewM, between Obama's and Bush's take on religion is that while Obama values his relationship with God...he doesn't govern on that basis. If Obama claimed that it was God who led him to pass the stimulus bill or he became President because God wanted him to be, he would face the same ridicule.

2 Of course, Obama does say "Jesus (peace be upon him)" so he has that going.

I'm offended by the phrasing invocation of the Christian Messiah. That's wrong on so many religious levels. I denounce whoever wrote that sentence!

Wow, denouncing things is fun.

Anyhoo, I haven't really noticed Obama invoking God more than Bush, probably because he does it as poorly and uncomfortably as whoever wrote that sentence. So, it's not a big deal; it's like claiming someone has a positive stance on illegal immigration because someone says Mexican words a lot. Even if those words are limited to "taco" and "queso." Christianity is Obama's Taco Bell cover story.

If you really want to understand what Obama believes about Jesus you need to read James Cone,
Black Theology and Black Power (1969, ISBN 1-57075-157-9)A Black Theology of Liberation (1970, ISBN 0-88344-685-5)"The assumption that one can know God without knowing blackness is the basic heresy of the white churches. They want God without blackness, Christ without obedience, love without death. What they fail to realize is that in America, God’s revelation on earth has always been black, red, or some other shocking shade, but never white. Whiteness, as revealed in the history of America, is the expression of what is wrong with man. It is a symbol of man’s depravity. God cannot be white even though white churches have portrayed him as white. When we look at what whiteness has done to the minds of men in this country, we can see clearly what the New Testament meant when it spoke of the principalities and powers. To speak of Satan and his powers becomes not just a way of speaking but a fact of reality. When we can see a people who are controlled by an ideology of whiteness, then we know what reconciliation must mean. The coming of Christ means a denial of what we thought we were. It means destroying the white devil in us."

Because we are the world's largest Muslim country, led by a man who is not a Muslim - no,no,no... mustn't suggest that. He's merely proud of how he grew up in a Muslim family inside Muslim countries throughout his childhood.

And apologizes to Muslim countries for pissing them off, causing them to attach us.

And bows to the monarch of the country that houses that fucking Borg cube that they worship and the pillars that they hum rocks at once a year, to remind them that every once in a while, bitches need to be shown their place.

71 This is a neverending lesson that too few learn.

Liberalism is only about the principle of power.  Everything they rage against, is only a means to power, not statement of principle.  The only thing they want is power, they will embrace fallacy and manipulation as long as at the end of the road is power.  They will lie about lies, and lie about truth they will lie about everything there is as long as eventually they have power.

Some 10,000 Marines have poured into Afghanistan in the last six weeks, the military said Monday, transforming this once small base in the heart of the country's most violent province, Helmand, into a desert fortress.

The statement to embedded journalists, including a team from The Associated Press, was the first confirmation that the military has fully deployed the first wave of 21,000 additional troops President Barack Obama ordered to Afghanistan this year to help stanch an increasingly violent Taliban insurgency.

The 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, normally based at Camp Lejeune, N.C., will battle the Taliban as well as train and fight alongside Afghan security forces.

"This is where the fight is, in Afghanistan," said 1st Sgt. Christopher Watson, who like many of the troops was most recently deployed in Iraq. "We are here to get the job done."

To the families of these heroes, thank you for your sacrafice as well. Your loved ones are in our prayers!

83 I so cannot get this business of highlighting a few words and having the link work.  I do it, it looks good and then I get the "you can't post this line" so then I do it again and I get the same line" and then I do it a third time it goes through and when you click the link you get "this page cannot be found".  I've avoided posting on the site cause I can't accomplish this simple task.  so if I need to post a link, I've been avoiding that.  ugh i feel so inept.

85 Okay, I managed to figure it out and it's not that hard once you get the hang of it.

First, go to tiny url and create your "AoSHQ" approved link.

Copy it, then paste it into your comment.

Highlight it.

Click the "hyperlink" button (just to the right of the little paint can)

Copy the link again into the right hand field on the top line of the box that opens

Hit "insert"

Hit "okay"

May the force be with you.

Then, type the letters LUN for "link under name" and people can click your name to follow the link.

Palin Steele fails to notice the difference between Busah and Obama's relationship with religion various in numerous ways:

1.   Barrack like a vampire can invoke Jesus but apparently is terrified by the cross ofr the dipiction of Jesus.  At Georgetown Obama had the imagine and words of Jesus covered, hmmm.  I am unaware of Bush having such fears.

2.  Obama believes we are not a Christian nation (hence his vigerous support of partial birth abortion) but are a major Islamic nation.  erhaps Palin Steele that noted religious scholar can cite a similiar quotation by any other US President.  But Hussein also grovelled before the Saudis, something no other US president or citizen would do (except for those that crawl before Cahvez, Castro and the ghost of Che).

3.  Bush had the bad grace to attend a church that didn't preach bigotry or hatred based on race or religion.  Presidente Zero choose to attend such a temple of love for twenty years.  I never knew Jesus was such a god of hatred, according to Barrack.  Perhaps this explains why he finds Islam so attractive.

4.  The Bible warns against bearing false witness, lying and coveting your neighbors goods.  Now Bush admitted he was a sinner but tried to hew to God's wishes.  On the other hand President 666 believes he is God and breaks every commandment.  But what are we to expect of someone who makes Clinton look like a paragon of virtue?

5.  While Obama invokes Jesus when it suits him, when it doesn't he describes those who do adhere to their faith as retards who "cling to their religion."  Say what you will but the Community organizer ios a rela dullard who can charm the room temperature types like Palin Steele but goes over like a lead ballon with people who practise their faith.  And please don't cite the Pelosi type religious nuts that the Left lauds.  They fall in the same belief category of Lt Worf's husband.

Now I suppose Palin Steele was a Pelsoi religious type, and then suppose she was confined for our safety, but then I repeat myself.

14 All Zero's faith is bullshit. Just like Bill Clinton's was. The leftards know this, so they aren't bothered by it.

Pretty much wrapped it up right there.  The libs have a secret way of telling each other when they are saying what they think people want to hear, rather than any true conviction.  It's whenever they say something and move their lips.

#76 I echo the same sentiments. Thanks to one and all here and their families for protecting my family and my nation. We owe you a debt which never can be repaid! God bless you all and keep you safe.

Muffy, there have been a lot of crying people on the radio. With the death of Pvt. Long on our soil, and his family being abused by our President, it is hard not to weep for our nation and in particular our military members and their families. And the list goes on and on as to why so many Americans feel rather depressed at this time.

As to the Holy Qu'ran quoting POTUS, it is not just that he has quoted it, but rather what Qu'ran he quoted from, (the jihadist version), but also the POTUS verbalized the verses with specific tones which also suggest he is more aligned with that Muslim part of his heritage. Kinda goes along with him finding his Black heritage something he aligns with more than his White side.

120 Players are always fighting in Runescape. It’s one of the reasons the game is so popular, being able to go to another world, attack monsters, and take their treasure . It’s adventure. It’s excitement. It’s fun. Especially through outstanding account.
And one of the best parts about combat (melee combat) is that it is by far the cheapest of all three combat methods.Ranging costs buy runescape gold because it requires the use of arrows. Magic costs even more because it requires lots and lots of runes. But melee combat is relatively cheap. The only and runescape money for sale you must spend is on your weapons and armor. Once you buy those things, you don’t have to keep buying more and more stuff to keep fighting. As you gain levels in Runescape, you will be able to buy better and better equipment. The better you get, the better the weapons and armor you can use, which makes you better able to keep your buy runescape accounts leveling-up.
And while we are getting the basics out of the way, let’s take a second to learn about the world of Runescape. Or rather, the worlds.
