And I had never heard before Bush 43 the MSM discuss the number of jobs lost in a month contrasted with the usual "June's unemployment figures were X%" and then simply stating whether it was a drop or an increase from the previous month, or for the same month the previous year, or that month's previous e.g. 5-year average, or how it affected the annual unemployment rate. All of a sudden it became "15,000 jobs lost this month" and not saying whether that was an overall job loss, thus increasing the unemployment rate, or if there were also 19,000 jobs created that month (you know, really created and not pretend created) so overall unemployment actually fell e.g. 0.13% that month as 4,000 new jobs were created overall.

Oh, and there's also discussing first-time jobless claims. I'd never read nor heard this stat used before back in the '70s to '90s and that all of these spin-play tricks were pretty obviously meant to give the false impression that unemployment was increasing when it was actually dropping or steady.
