Yea, its a total joke. In fact, I think this whole Spector thing was in the can for the past few weeks, with Obama's people waiting for the right moment when they needed to alter the news cycle. and, voila, the fact that Obama just put actual terror into the hearts of millions of NYC residents is under the rug, and the news is all "the GOP is doomed, all moderates are leaving" Posted by: Anti-Harkonnen Freedom Fighter at April 28, 2009 03:06 PM (5r0Tz) Posted by: D-ling at April 28, 2009 03:08 PM (5QbWF) Posted by: Anti-Harkonnen Freedom Fighter at April 28, 2009 03:09 PM (5r0Tz) 5

Clearly, the White House does not have enough government oversight and regulation of its functions.
Obama's solution will be to add an Air Force One Photo-Op Czar, operating under the Military Photo-Op Czar, reporting to the Government Business Photo-Op Czar, under the authority of the Generic Photo-Op Czar. Obama's morning briefings will include a full run-down of planned photo-op activities. This briefing, expected to last four hours on average, will necessarily crowd out lesser government business like national security and foreign policy. Woah my brain just thunk up an idea that didn't include killing hobos, taking that picture of Megan Fox or tricorner hat lady to my bunk, or going to pick up more valu-rite vodka.
What are the odds Arlen Specter was asked to announce he was switching parties so the talk about what happened yesterday with the flyover gets pushed to the back burner? It's not like Dems in the white house don't have a history of doing that. Posted by: Brenden at April 28, 2009 03:14 PM (54lqZ) Posted by: IreneFingMeghanPlover at April 28, 2009 03:14 PM (JKe0g) 15

Eh, I hate to give him any credit, but I just can't see why he would have known the flight plan of a plane he wasn't on. I'm not even sure Caldera had enough info to realize it was a bad idea. He may not have realized how low the planes would be or that they'd fucking aim at lower Manhattan at the end.
I think heads will roll at Andrews, though. Whoever knew how low the plane was going to fly and exactly where it was going should be looking at the end of their careers. Posted by: Mama AJ at April 28, 2009 03:16 PM (X6Zdh) 19

Jammy's last point is the best: who was on this flight and how much did they pay? And a reader on Instapundit wrote that just skipping this little event probably would have saved a big chunk of change; Obama's plan to cut money from the administrative costs could have been started!

I'll say it again - the left like honest douchebag says that Bush rhetoric since 9/11 unnecessarily caused Americans to fear attacks...fear mongering...etc.
Well, here we have Obama causing ACTUAL FEAR OF IMMINENT DEATH of hundreds of thousands of NYC folk - and still, the left and media give Obama a pass. Yeah, I'd bet that Obama had no idea what the flight plan was or that the local authorities in NYC weren't informed. This seems more like a screwup deep down in the bureaucracy. Now Barry will do a cover up and if there is really enterprising reporter out there who wants to make his bones, his or her big chance is coming soon.

Hey, Boobies Make Me Smile, I love that old Carlin bit (even though he was a bitter commie bastard). Here's the original: "Mickey Mouse's birthday being announced on the television news as if it were an actual event! I don't give a shit! If I cared about Mickey Mouse's birthday I would have memorized it years ago! And I'd send him a card, 'Dear Mickey, Happy Birthday, Love George'. I don't do that, why, don't give a shit! Fuck Mickey Mouse! Fuck him in the ass with a big rubber dick! Then break it off and beat him with it! I hope Mickey dies. I do, I hope he goddamn dies. I hope he gets a hold of some tainted cheese, and dies lonely and forgotten in the bathroom of some bad building in a poor neighborhood, with his hand in Goofy's pants. Mickey Mouse- no wonder no one takes our country seriously, we waste valuable news time informing our citizens of the age of an imaginary rodent!" Can't find an audio of it, alas. It's damned funny. I've owned two jeeps since 2001 and been very happy with them. The older inline 6 engine was practically bulletproof and regularly lasts 200K+ miles. I take that back on the DD-175. Most military units will reference their duty office for the passenger manifest and number. Been awhile since I filed one! Only if they declared an emergency will they declare Souls on Board. However, they are required to have a passenger manifest back at their duty officer/base operations which would be in Andrews. Also, their weight and balance sheet will have to account for passengers due to their weight and location on the aircraft for takeoff and landing calculations. I would go after this first as the WH may not have thought of this one.

It is hard to imagine being a passenger on that plane and looking down and seeing people running and then choosing not to suggest that the fly-by be scrapped.
Or at least it would be hard to imagine an normal person who could be so callous as to look at his or her fleeing fellow Americans and not do something about it. So maybe there were no normal Americans on the plane? Just, you know, important people and such. Posted by: Popcorn at April 28, 2009 04:48 PM (qigMY) 127

Any time POTUS takes off in AF1 or Marine 1, a duplicate 'decoy' is
also in the area. Having one 747 off to NY to get it's picture taken means
that someone other than the White House Military Office director Louis
Caldera "approved the mission". Caldera doesn't command the Air Force
to do anything, especially when you throw in 2 F-16's. He's taking a

IIRC, Caldera approved the request. The question is who requested it? And beyond the official request, whose idea was it to tell some flunky to put in the request? In other words, who had the big idea first and did that person have the authority 'to make it so' or did that person go further up to convince someone to order 'make it so'? And why the devil didn't they just have it announced that a 'military exercise' involving a transport and a few fighters would be operating at low-level in the vicinity of the Statue of Liberty and lower Manhattan? There was no need to say 'Air Force One', just a 'military transport'. Posted by: Mikey NTH at April 28, 2009 05:52 PM (TUWci) 143

Good luck on getting that manifest info...
I made this comment about 4.5 hours earlier over at the BC... [...If I was a clever politician, I would use that flight as an opportunity to reward/stroke key allies and donors with a ride [complete with expensive dainties and military 'servants'] on one of the few aircraft on the planet that you CAN’T just ‘get onto’. I want to see the passenger manifest for the flight. Do I think the photo-op story is a lie? Not really, but I do wonder if it’s being used a blanket to cover something else. After all, it’s rather counter-intuitive to be wagging your finger at everyone over carbon/climate insensitivity and ‘executive excesses’ when you’re jetting your political cronies, checkbook patrons and leftist homeys about on the taxpayers dime… As embarrassing as this clueless stunt was, joy-riding your buds around would be the ‘icing on cake’. Especially since the crowd reaction in NYC was NOT one the masses cheering and waving to ‘AF 1′ [image-wise] as it did a ‘victory lap’ around the Statue of Liberty. I’ll bet the last dollar in my checking account THAT footage would have been omnipresent IF the story had broken that way. Could I be wrong in my assumptions? Sure. But let’s see if some smart, ballsy journalist puts the request out for ALL the flight details...]There are times when I wonder if somebody is peeking over my [cyber-] shoulder when post my comments... hoan, you really extended that metaphor to the, um, limit.
Posted by: rdbrewer at April 28, 2009 11:13 PM (ajXGd) 224
metaphor ?, i'm just talking about burritos, they're messy fo sure. you know sometimes a burrito is a burrito, unless it's without beans then it's just an enchilada

Sorry, late to the thread and nobody will see t his.
As Commander-in-Chief (and I gritted my teeth while typing that), the buck stops with Obama. I might actually gain a little respect for the man if he, just once, took responsibility for some fucking thing that happens "on his watch". But the MSM & co. protection of the One goes on....I heard a local rock DJ commenting on this story for some reason, and instead of making an Obama joke (as you know he would have 100 percent had it been Bush), he called "whoever ordered it" stupid and shared Obama's alleged "outrage". I'm losing hope for change by the minute..... Posted by: Luca Brasi at April 29, 2009 12:15 AM (fKhge) 227
Hey, don't worry. I saw it, and I have absolutely no resprect for you.
Posted by: rdbrewer at April 29, 2009 02:46 AM (ajXGd) 228
No, we would not be up in arms if we found out AF1 was photo shopped into a pic. It's not any more tacky than selling a plastic model in the White House gift shop and giving that to the British PM's child. WMD's were never "fabricated," either. Gawd, I hate liberal douchetards. I hate joan and rdbrewer, too. Get a phone and text, you cheap fucks.

Luca Brasi, I was quoting a DJ on satellite radio. Imagine if they passed the Fairness Doctrine; it could be much worse. Is there a station worth listening to, though? Hair Nation, The Loft, Coffee House, Little Steven's Underground Garage and another fucking Bruce Springsteen station, E Street Band radio. The DJs make it unbearable, because they love hearing themselves talk. That's a nono on satellite, I thought. I'm returning this thing.
