The Fearful Left: Tea Parties Are a Clear and Present Danger to Democracy, or Something
Plus: Site Now Monitoring... "Anti-obama Activities"

Remember when the left used to accuse the right of being cowardly pants-pissers because we were all so a-scared of terrorists?

Well, it turns out we were just scared of the wrong thing. Turns out we should fear our scary fellow citizens who protest tax and spending hikes.

They're the real threats.

And it just so happens that a new website is dedicate to tracking "anti-obama activities."

Anti-obama activities? You betcha.

A site dedicated for American citizens monitoring and reporting all anti-obama activities taking place on the world wide web.

A site dedicated to the preservation of truth, justice and the American way.

Where true American citizens can monitor and report all anti-obama activities taking place on the world wide web.

This is a place where one can post and report on all activities, web sites and or blogs that would be considered erroneous, slanderous or detrimental to the newly elected President of the United States.

...

They are extremely scared of this, so please for the sake of the American way, join our cause and root out these sites and post them for all the world to see.

Anti-obama activities. Unreal.

Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the anti-obama party?

Thanks to LauraW.

1 If the libs are okay with the tax and spending hikes, then they can pay my share of the tax hikes. This new 9.25% sales tax in LA (soon to be 9.75%) is a bitch. Hell, they can pay all conseravtives' share of the tax hikes if they think tax hikes are so great.

Remember, it's only democracy when the left does it.

5 How about we get some fat old women and college kids to constantly disturb congressional hearings, citizenship ceremonies, and other grown up events like the Code Pink crazies?

That's patriotic, right?

The GOP, if they want to remain relevant needs to call out the other side and the media for this appalling double standard.

6 That is a truly creepy post.  Maybe the person should start a site where everyone can give the prez their suggestions to fix everything because those seem to have been purged from the web.

I hope the tea party thing doesn't peter out.  Levin was ragging on Beck for saying its not about Democrats or Republicans, that we need to take the republican party back and focus on getting conservatives elected.  Well, they are both right in a way.  I think for the tea party movement it WOULD be a bit of a mistake to make it too party specific.  The more democrats you can get to participate the better.

Ultimately all the activity NEEDS to affect congress and fast, and it needs to accomplish electoral defeat of irresponsible spenders (meaining all of them, of course).  And ultimately that may mean rallying around Republicans.  But if these republicans are not fiscally conservative it ain't gonna help much...

As a Concerned Conservative Christian, I am, well, concerned that the lefties will turn out and disrupt the tea party movement and get the coverage, but not by counter protesting, instead by infiltrating with Obama = Hitler signs and stuff like that. They proved during the campaign that they are capable of this behavior and of twisting the narrative to fit their needs, remember the "kill them" guys at Palin rallies etc.

My hope, however, is that the tea party movement is truly non-partisan because I know that there are a lot of Democrats and Independents who are planning on participating, and that the wacko left's attempts to sabotage the movement will fall flat when the true bi-partisanship of the movement is highlighted.

47 I was talking with a (very) pro-Obama colleague the other day. He knows me well enough to keep his hero-worship in check, but he happened to say something about "suppressing anti-Obama demonstrations" or something like that. I told him he was a fucking totalitarian asshole and to get out of my face. I never cease to be amazed at how liberals can rationalize totalitarianism as long as it's good for you. And by "you" I don't mean an individual human being with rights and hopes and dreams; I mean "you" as a mass of faceless drones marching bravely into the new Socialist Utopia.

Someday you will see me on the news. I will be holed up in a cabin in the mountains somewhere, heavily armed and writing long screeds about how our precious bodily fluids are being polluted by drugs that liberals are putting into the aquifers, and how the secret Rosicrucian/Freemason/Teacup-Poodle-Fanciers nexus is controlling international finance. I beg you all to not judge me too harshly when I go down in a blaze of gunfire when the FBI tries to storm the place.

48 The singling out of any predominantly peaceful group for their political beliefs, and based on the actions of the extremist few, characterizing the whole group as a threat or enemy of the nation, is wrong. It was wrong when Pol Pot did so to the Buddhist monks, Muslims, and educated; It was wrong when Che and Fidel did so to the proponents of democracy; It was wrong when McCarthy did so to the communists; It was wrong when Spiro Agnew did so to the hippies. And it is wrong today to do so to libertarians. To follow such conduct is to re-walk the darkest paths in human history, paths blazed by man's most oppressive totalitarian regimes; following in the footsteps of Hitler, Stalin, and Mao

90 If I ever again have an online website (I refuse to call it a "blog", because "blog" sounds like someone horking up a chili-dog), I promise this: I will state right up front that I despise everyone equally. That I have no respect for, or fondness for, any of you mouth-breathing dumbasses. I will further state that I will betray you at the first opportunity -- occasionally selling you out for the pure malefic glee rather than for cash as is my usual custom. I will make light of your weaknesses, embarass you in public, hold you up to ridicule, and in general do my best to express my burning hated for each and every one of you.*

See, the problem with most commentators and pundits is that they want to be liked. Not me. Your hatred is mother's milk to me. The more you hate me, the stronger I grow. I feed off sorrow and misery like a baleen whale feeds off krill.

*Except alexthechick. I'm holding out to see her chesticles, so I have to at least pretend to be interested in whatever the hell she's yammering about at any given moment. My penis is a harsh taskmaster. Harsh, but fair.

There are some complaints in the comments here about LGF ragging on the tea parties.  Well, that video he has up on his site holds a lesson everyone should remember.  There are going to be fucking loonies on your side no matter which side you are on.

Just because people share your general policical philosphy doesn't mean they aren't batshit crazy in other ways.

The video is kind of depressing.  I realize these people are a minority, but I want nothing to do with people who call for burning books of ANY kind or going on seriously about how the goverment is using brainwashing devicess hooked to your tv.

This is serious.  We have to find some way to bring fiscal sanity back to our government.  I suppose I can agree to vote in a bloc with people who think evolution didn't happen and want to burn books that say it did, but I really don't want to have to spend any time with them.

Very depressing...

Monty, wtf? Everyone loves you.

Oh, sure. You say that now. But how many naked pictures have you sent me recently? None, that's how many!

True friends cater to my every whim. True friends send me money without asking me pesky questions about what I want it for. True friends bail me out of jail, or better  yet take the rap in my place. True friends leave me the fuck alone most of the time, but are boon companions on those rare occasions when I can tolerate the company of my fellow human beans. True friends erect graven images of me in their yards and worship me as their God.

True female friends do not bore me with stories about: cats; shoes; their stupid friends; their bitch of a mother; their convict brother who needs someplace to stay when he gets out of the slam; the reasons why they cannot grant me access to usually-forbidden parts of their bodies.

I don't understand how these simple, reasonable expectations can be so hard to follow.

That is exactly what Charles is, I believe even his "about me" says exactly that. He was a liberal and 9/11 changed him. Funny, the "other McCain" talks about this in a lengthy post in the sidebar here, its awesome. He talks that many liberals became conservative on 9/11 and now that the GWOT has taken a backseat that these "conservatives whether they know it or not are going back to their roots. Being Liberals.

Meet the new Left, same as the old Left.

They are doing what almost all human beings do - project.  They assume that we are planning now the kind of things they were planning when they were out of power.  They project their own willingness to commit violence onto the Right.  Here's the thing to keep in mind - whatever absurd thing they accuse us of - that is what they would do themselves.

Likewise, we need to avoid projection error ourselves.  Do not project reasonableness, patriotism, or normal human sentiments onto the Liberals - they DO NOT share those characteristics with us.  They're not rational - they're systemically derranged and violent people.  That's why Leftist regimes world wide are almost invariably murderous.

In any case - let's give them more to worry about.  Let's keep gun and ammo sales at record highs!  No reason not to, really.

116 Whatever nobodies at examiner.com (which is not the S.F. paper as anyone but Jacobson would know) say, the BHO admin is probably getting a good laugh out of the "parties". They are going to have no impact whatsoever for various reasons.

And, while very small numbers of people (in comparison to BHO supporters) are "partying", the Dems are pushing an amnesty for hundreds of thousands of "children" as old as 35 years of age. The "parties" will never stop that and, in fact, some of those pulling the strings at the "parties" support massive immigration.

If anyone wants to do something effective, go ask a politician about that amnesty. Really pressing a nationally-known politician on that will have a far greater impact than a million "parties".

Only then to cruelly dash them.

As I have said: my esthetic is not that of other people, so do not assume what tempts me and what does not. My delights are those of the louche as well as those of the salon; I can revel in the beauty of the stars wheeling overhead as I cave in a hobo's skull. The honest whore I value more than the tease or the flirt, but the coquette I like least of all: the treasure they coyly hide can be had for the asking at the nearest exotic-dancing emporium.

(I would try to explain this philosophy to my ex-wife, but she's just say something about me being a sicko or something -- I wasn't really paying attention, so I don't know for sure -- and then she'd storm out of the room. Pity, really. There was an amazing country open to her, had she but dared to step across the threshhold.)

UGGGH. Without going too far into creationism/evolution; "Theory of gravity" is how we thought about the issue in the 1800's we call it the LAW of gravity now. Debate in the scientific community on the origin of life is still hot and heavy, and all those various hypothesis only have a few simple protiens to their name to even qualify any of them as a scientific theory. Yet LGF is intent on excoriating anyone trying to reconcile their faith in God with known scientific facts; to the point that LGFcling to their underdeveloped theories with an equal measure of blind faith that they ascribe to "religious nuts". Talk about small tent theory of conservatism....

Who gives a shit if someone wants to burn a book? This idea that burning a book as the most awful thing in the world was brought to you by the Left.

It's just a fucking book, and as long as it's private citizens, not the government, I don't care who burns what book.

171 Unfortunately, I doubt it.

If there's one thing I've noticed with this administration, it's that the more shocking and utterly insane an idea of theirs seems, the more likely they are deadly serious about it.

As I've said elsewhere, I feel as if I'm in some kind of a weird, hallucinatory nightmare from which I cannot awaken;  wondering if it's being scripted by Monty Python or Stephen King.

Perhaps they take turns.

I hope it is fake as I have no wish to get an up close and personal historical experience as to what it was like to live in Germany circa 1935. What really scares the shit out of me is realizing that if someone is so far gone their is no reasoning with them, and no living in peace in a democracy with such a person. One man, one vote makes sense. One lunatic, one vote doesn't.

Yeah, "is this shit really happening" is becoming all too common with me as well.

There are some complaints in the comments here about LGF ragging on the tea parties. Well, that video he has up on his site holds a lesson everyone should remember. There are going to be fucking loonies on your side no matter which side you are on.

That's true, doug. I also found that vid depressing.

It bothered me that the speaker was unidentified, however -- and I'm kinda' surprised he posted it without some more investigation. I couldn't find anything about the source -- it's just an embedded video at LGF. Do we know anything about the origins of the video? Could it possibly be staged?

I appreciate Johnson's efforts to track and reveal the anti-evolution movement -- and I tend to side with him on things like cozying up with folks who are really more about being anti-Muslim rather than just anti-Islamofacism -- but I think he's gotten sloppy. He's so anti-Palin, anti-Jindal, anti-Rush, anti-Beck, etc etc that he doesn't seem to be applying his critical thinking skills consistently.

There is no terrorist threat. America is the threat to the world.

Capitalism/freedom is bad. Socialism and less freedom is good.

Bush is a terrorist. Terrorists in Iraq are freedom fighters.

Murdering the unborn is ok. Executing murders is not.

Etc., etc...

Y-not, I got mistreated by Charles for disagreeing that Creationism was one of the reasons the GOP lost in November.

His so-called proof was Google searches for Sara Palin + Creationism. That is quite sloppy and weak and unlike him. He may not be obssessed with Creationism, but he is getting irrational about it. Had someone used such info to support a claim about something he disagreed with, he would have shredded them. Hell, by the same criteria I could have argued the GOP lost because in part, people thought she was a porn star!

The funny thing is, I have exactly the same view on creationism as he does.

"...but I want nothing to do with people who call for burning books of ANY kind

"Who gives a shit if someone wants to burn a book? This idea that burning a book as the most awful thing in the world was brought to you by the Left.

"It's just a fucking book, and as long as it's private citizens, not the government, I don't care who burns what book."

Thank you! The fear-of-book-burning is one of the left's oldest tricks, and it's based on science fiction novels like Fahrenheit 451, which proposed a bizarre and unlikely future society where people would be literally forbidden to read books (what about signs, pamphlets, newspapers? -- I admit I only read the book once a long time ago for a class assignment and can't remember if the entire written word was banned or just the pretentious liberal canon of novels) and some dumb stunts pulled by people in Western countries where the works so burned are available in the thousands of printed copies.

I used to automatically subscribe to the "OMG burning books is wrong!" school of thought, until it occurred to me one day that I was being silly. The proper reaction to people burning books they don't like is not to freak out like an old lady who sees a mouse in her soup, but to retaliate in kind. So Nazis burn a copy of Freud or Enstein's theories? Well, roast your hot dogs over a burning copy of Mein Kampf. (And make sure they are Hebrew National all-beef kosher hot dogs.) Some Baptist group tosses copies of the Twilight novels on their Easter bonfire? Congratulate them and consider joining their congregation -- those books are mind-destroying crap.

Anyway, you know what I mean.

214 # 212: Gotta love the Jefferson. He was also against the Sedition Act, which apparently was abolished because forbidding negative speech against the government and its officers, even the president, is kinda unconstitutional! Imagine that! But as Obama's administration has learned all too well, why get their hands dirty when their legion of minions will do the dirty work for them. If a grassroots movement behaves like browhshirts, can we call them grasshirts? Don't know if that site is true; the sad thing is it totally could be. Obama youth unite!

They attacked the Prop 8 supporters, and I didn't care because I didn't vote for that crap. They attacked for anti-Obama bloggers, and I didn't care because I didn't write that crap. They attacked me at last, and there was no one left to give a crap. Or something like that.

Oh and #208, Fahrenheit is not about censorship; Bradbury loved reading and seeing the progression of where things were heading, wrote a story about a culture who becomes so degrated by media and TV that they abandon reading and books altogether. Bradbury himself hated that his real message got lost.

237 I'm sure there are some particularly infested fever-swampers who really believe that the Tea Parties are a split second away from erupting into violence, but what's really behind this is that all the guys jerking each off other on JournoList and the rest of the bigwigs in the liberal establishment are looking at the polls of the last two months (Democrats declining, GOP rising, particularly among independents) and they're starting to get worried about 2010 and 2012. They see the Tea Parties as the most threatening public movement to their control of the country and as such will do anything they can to discredit them.
