The sad part about this is that it will be a self full filling prophecy on both sides. The last couple of weeks events will most likely bring about talk of stricter gun control. This will feed into the growing sense of some on the far right that Obama is out to get them.

They will react violently. This will bring an even more heavy handed respons from the left which will push larger numbers of people on the right into resistance of the Government and so on and so on.

By it self this problem would only reach a certain point, but you add in the economic problems and the groing violence in our border regions and you get a recipe for large scale violence against the Government.

How many "socially conscious" groups did I see there? Zero. The real heroes in my view were the neighborhood churches. They did it all, and went places even the Red Cross and Salvation Army refused to go. One black Baptist minister (I'm ashamed to say I've forgotten his name) got gunned down right on the church steps for preaching against the drug gangs.

It was massively improved the last time I went through there a few years back, I have to say. Or at least they chased the lowlifes to some other part of the city.
