Howard Dean Tells Keith Olbermann It's Crazy to Call Any President, Including Bush, a Fascist

Keithie wants to agree so badly -- so he can bash some or other conservative for calling Obama a fascist -- but then sorta remembers he called Bush a fascist a fair amount, and ponders if he's employing a double standard.

Olbermann Watch mashes up Keithie's newfound antipathy for the term fascist with his previous embrace of the epithet.

2 It's like on TOS Star Trek when they'd talk the killer computer to death using paradoxes, well, except that Keith doesn't havea brain or logic circuits like the e.g. M-5 computer, but it's sort of similar.

4 Anyone else notice Deans comment about his/Democrats string objection to Bush increasing the deficit?

I guess, given Obama's plan to skyrocket the deficit and Deans silence on the issue, Dean intended to say the Democrats thought Bush should have raised the deficit faster.

5 I don't think it's crazy at all. Fascism is identifiable and definable. Obama is clearly the most fascist president since Wilson. There's no question about it. As long as "fascism" doesn't simply define that which is undesirable, this is obvious.

Which is why Dean doesn't want the longer "f" word to be discussed in too much detail.

6 From National Review Online 7/28/2004 'The Two Faces of Howard Dean.'
"You can't call the president a fascist. You're not supposed to do that this week, anyway."

Remember, dissent is no longer the highest form of patriotism, it's hate speech. And refusing to give the President what he wants is refusing to play nice.

The rules are subject to review every four years.

8 What about a Communist? Can we call Obama a Communist?

9 What about a Communist? Can we call Obama a Communist?
No, CoolCzech, Lynda Carter says you can only say positive things about The One or you aren't being the "loyal opposition". (Like, I'm sure, she did during the 8 years of the Bush administrations.)

10 Would that be the alcoholic Lynda Carter by any chance?

Heh. When did that ever stop him before?

12 Lynda Carter can say anything she wants, as long as she's wearing that costume.

13 10.

In the word of Marv Albert: "Yes"! I didn't know that until your comment provoked a google. No wonder her waist was always so thick behind that power belt. Plus she struck me as looking like she was related to Lyndon Johnson.

16 Dean lectured Cantor: "The right thing to have said, which is what I would have said if somebody had called President Bush really dreadful names like that, I would have said, ‘Look, we disagree with President Bush strongly ... but he is the President, and we're going to be respectful of him.’"I hate Republicans!

20 Well, he is a fascist, so what do they want us to call him? Chimpy has been taken. Hussein is verboten. BO is too descriptive. I don't do racist insults because I don't believe in guilt by association. The guy has earned mycondemnation for what he has done, and what he fails to do, personally.
The only solution is for him to go away.I won't need to talk about him. There mst be a comunity somewherethat needs an organizer. I believe he's qualified for that.
