Confirmed: Gaia Hates Global Warming Lunatics

I had this in the headlines but this last little detail was too much fun.

Today's Global Warming protest was short one very high profile protester...the Speaker of the House.

Global warming activists stormed Washington Monday for what was billed as the nation's largest act of civil disobedience to fight climate change -- only to see the nation's capital virtually shut down by a major winter storm.

Schools and businesses were shuttered, lawmakers cancelled numerous appearances and the city came to a virtual standstill as Washington was blasted with its heaviest snowfall of the winter.

It spelled about six inches of trouble for global warming activists who had hoped to swarm the Capitol by the thousands in an effort to force the government to close the Capitol Power Plant, which heats and cools a number of government buildings, including the Supreme Court and the Capitol.

...House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who called on the architect of the Capitol to stop burning coal at the power plant last week, cancelled her appearance at the rally because of the weather.

How predictable is snow during a Global Warming protest? You can practically make book on it.

14 Hell fire, the answer is for Tennessee Power and Light to start the ball rolling by cutting power output to Gore's 30,000 square foot pile over in Tennessee. It's the Volunteer State, so let's volunteer Dishonest Al into a cold, unheated house so he can cut his carbon footprint Assprint. He'll tough the rest of the winter out at the local McDonalds eating the food and writing his next epic, "Some Inconvenient Gas and Bloating".

Frau Bleucher Granny McBotox  Peloser can spend her winter in a frigid office bitching about the lack of heat but saving us from Obama's promised 'clean coal' he raves so much about. And on that note, the SouthSide Fraud and his Klingon consort can tough it out in a cold WH too, for that matter.

Don't tell me, you leftist bitches, show me the way; only, You first. When you live it and stop talking bullshit, I'll give you another look-see. Til then, shove it.

16 Yep, we had a lot of Gorebull warming float down from the sky from last night into this afternoon.  I think this is the most Gorebull warming substance we've gotten in NE PA since I moved here about 2 years ago, and definitely the coldest winter by far since then.

I hate winter, but I do like Gorebull warming flakes.  They're so pretty (except when I have to shovel them from my sidewalk - they're really hot to the touch.)

I don't agree that since weather prediction can be very inaccurate, climate prediction would of necessity be more so.  It isn't unusual that large-scale phenomena (e.g., flow of fluids) is easier to predict than smaller-scale phenomena (e.g., the position of molecules).

That being said, part of my job involves modeling and predictions of drug exposures and effects, and we pharmaceutical industry types know that something most be wrong with the assumptions in your model if the predictions do not reflect reality.  I guess we have the added incentive of not wanting to throw our own money down the crapper if we hang on to bad models.  But the global warming types don't seem to mind.  It's other people's money they are throwing down the crapper, after all.

17 Six inches of frozen snow in my yard, half a foot of powder against my door a good ten feet from the edges of my eaves, and under a gabled roof to boot, frozen stuff a half foot thick on both my trucks. Crap, where's the gorebal warming I been hearing about? I saw the movie, that Dennis Quaid Crapfest about snow and sea water and freezing stuff and I want to say "Where the hell's my warming?" I was promised a warm up. It's March for crap's sake. Where are the daffodils and the hot weather? Why is my cat hiding under the deck and prancing around in the white stuff like it's cold? Gore says it's warmer than ever, not yet another winter of prolonged cold and deeper snows. My cat and the yard must be wrong, after all they don't have a Grammy and an Oscar and a Nobel Prize...Asscar and a NoCredibility Prize, like AlGore the human Locust Post does.

This must be one of those mirages I heard about, out here in my yard. Piled up an imaginary six inches deep so my cat's belly leaves its own track in the snow.

My bad, what was I thinking? This is all some vast prank to discredit that Scion of Science, the Gorebal Warming King.

I apologize for this screed. I'll just go out and finish shovelling the gorebal  warming out of my drive so I can get to work tomorrow.  Cause, The gubmint needs my taxes to punish the coal fired power plant industry. What was I thinking?

I don't think climate prediction is of necessity more inaccurate than weather prediction, sometimes the large-scale phenomena is indeed easier to predict, but that is not always the case. My problem is that I've often heard AGW proponents claim that climate prediction is easier, without ever offering any evidence as to why this is so in the specific case of climate vs. weather.

You and me both, Bubba, just for reading that stuff about Dishonest Al Gore, the Scion of New Science. See, it's not just evidence you need, it's empirical "Alnecdotal" evidence,  all special kinda anecdotal 'Al' type evidence, based on years of acumulated photos and slide shows that Al has, they make it a science, and Ace doesn't answer your letters nor mine because he knows, like ALgore the Lord of Warmer Springs, that this snow is just a lull in between sweaty hot heat waves. You watch, Thursday? 90 degrees in DC, open windows and sleeves all rolled up like a court movie set in the South during the 30's. All fans blowing  and crap like that. You just watch...

Even marchers in gloves and parkas were wringing their hands to stay warm, and some protest leaders were having trouble providing updates on blog sites like Twitter.

"I admit, it's hard to tweet with cold hands!" wrote the author of the Capitol Climate Action Web site, who said the activists were "staying warm with a chant: 'Clean coal is a dirty lie.'"

Yup, hard to do the drum circles with mittens on

In a press release supporting the protest, Greenpeace wrote that "coal is the country's biggest source of global warming pollution" and that "burning coal cuts short at least 24,000 lives in the U.S. annually."

On a blustery, frigid day, it might be worth noting the government's own stark numbers: pneumonia kills twice as many each year.
