Gerald Ford: Any math, you think, Ron? Ron Nessen: I don't think so, Sir, no. They'll probably want to ask you about the New Hampshire primary and reaction to the recent polls showing Reagan ahead. Gerald Ford: Ah-ha. What would you suggest I say there? Ron Nessen: Well, Sir, considering our feelings that Gallup and Harris don't accurately reflect the truth, you might make a little joke about the polls. Gerald Ford: Well now, Ron, I just don't think we have to get ethnic here. Ron Nessen: No, Sir, no. Skip that. As your press secretary, I have to be candid with you: You're being misunderstood a great deal lately. I've, uh, I've decided to take action against some of the absurd notions in the press that you've been behaving in a physically awkward and clumsy manner. And in order to quash rumors that your physical actions are any different from any normal average person, I've devised a plan which I and couple of the Secret Service men will put into action. Call it, ah, Operation Stumblebum. Gerald Ford: Now, let me get this straight, Ron. These men are in the service and they're keeping it a secret from me? Ron Nessen: [Stares at Ford for a moment] No, Sir. I'm taking about the fellows in the dark glasses and the suits that are always running beside your car. Gerald Ford: Well, we're going to have to put a stop to that, Ron. Ron Nessen: Yes, Sir. Now, what we plan to do is this: Should you make any physical movements that can be construed as out of the ordinary, [Ford takes a pipe from his coat pocket and puts it in his mouth] we will take specific action to see to it that others will view them as normal everyday behavior. [Nessen takes a pipe from his own pocket, puts it in his mouth and imitates Ford as he mistakenly lights the bottom of the pipe] Gerald Ford: Mm-hmm. Ron Nessen: This is a perfect example, Sir. Gerald Ford: Ah. You know, I can never get these things lit. [He almost puts the lit lighter back in his coat pocket, then starts to stand up] RON?! Ron Nessen: Right here, Sir. Now, Mr. President, I want to prepare you for the conference so you can avoid any possible little accidents. [He imitates Ford dropping his pipe as he tries to put it back in his coat pocket] First of all, you'll walk through the door of the Oval Office, making sure to open it first. You'll go down the hallway to the press conference room. Now, the hallway will have a wall on either side, right and left. But by walking down the middle of the hall, you'll be able to avoid hitting either side. There's a carpet in the hallway, but it's only a little bitty one, it's about [holds up fingers at eye level] this far off the ground. Gerald Ford: [Thinking Nessen means the carpet is about five feet off the ground, he stands up and mimics climbing over the carpet] Well, then, should I just attempt to scale it with a jump or... Ron Nessen: No, Sir, I mean it'll be at foot level. But I don't want you to have any trouble with it. We've taken the lamps and the portraits out of the corridor. Uh, you may see a shadow or two of something on the floor, but don't let 'em throw you. And there will be three steps just before the door to the conference room. Try to take them one at a time. Gerald Ford: Well now, Ron, will these steps be going up or down? Ron Nessen: Well, Sir, they'll be going down on your way in and up on your way back. That will mean you will be either using your left foot twice and your right foot once going down, or your right foot once and your left foot twice (sic), depending on which foot you plan to start with. Gerald Ford: And that'll be totally my choice, Ron? Ron Nessen: Yes, Sir, totally your own. Then you will simply move through the curtains of the conference room up to the podium, making sure to walk through the area where the curtains are separated from each other. Before I forget, one more thing: The press conference will be over when the senior member of the press says "Thank you, Mr. President." Gerald Ford: "Thank you, Mr. President." Ron Nessen: Yes. Gerald Ford: [To Liberty] Gimme the ball, Liberty! [To Nessen] Come on in and sit down, Ron. Ron Nessen: Ah, Sir, I'd better be getting to the press room now. I'll see you there in a few moments. [He stands and exits] Gerald Ford: [To Liberty] Bad dog! Lie down, Liberty. [Ford releases Liberty's leash, causing the stuffed dog to fall over. Ford continues to fumble around as if looking for something] Posted by: Senator, Advisor Rev. Dr. E. Buzz Miller at February 09, 2009 08:06 PM (cTHpq) 20

President Gerald Ford: My fellow Americans.. I've called upon the networks tonight to make two pressing issues clear to the American public. [ sneezes into his tie ] #1: The possible default of New york City.. and #1: My stand on the Ronald Reagan announcement. [ red phone rings; Ford picks up the glass of water, splashing water all over his suit ] Hello! [ red phone keeps ringing ] Hello?! Hello, Nessen! I can't hear you! What, are you in the pool? [ red phone still ringing ] Uh, I guess the other phone's ringing, I don't know. Alright. [ hangs up glass, allowing the red phone to continue ringing ] Firstly, the default of New York City. Let me be clear on my feelings about this. As President, I will change my mind wherever I want. [ finally answers red phone ] Hello. Hotline. Anwar, uh.. just a second.. I'm on the air right now, I'll get you Kissinger, alright? [ picks up black phone, dials Kissinger ] Hank? Can you call to talk to Sadat for a minute? Thank you. [ holds the two phones to one another, then drops them on the desk ] The point is: Do I really know what the issue is? Relevent? Irrelevent? Fault? Default? These are just hard words. [ black phone starts buzzing; Ford picks up black headset ] Yes, Hank? Alright, I'll talk to Anwar. Alright, alright.. [ hangs up black headset on red phone, then answers red headset ] Anwar! Hello? [ jiggles with hang-up button ] Hello?! [ hangs up red headset on black phone ] The Bayall Bill before the House of Representatives does not.. address.. the current situation! And I would veto it! The current situation being that, the longer I hold out on New York, the better chances I have with those conservative Republicans who might otherwise support Ronald Reagan! Pretty smart, eh? Which brings me to my first point. Let's take a look at the recent popularity polls, shall we? [ smacks his head on the desk top ] Whoops! [ stands and walks over to polls staked on easel ] Now, as we can see, the.. Ford popularity is.. [ lifts poll, turns it sideways ] ..certainly on a sharp rise here.. Whereas, the.. And you're going to double down on it? Posted by: Dan F No, that would be silly. TARP 2 will be much larger than this... doubling the deficit wouldn't be nearly enough. Why is it I'm hearing the words coming out of his mouth, watching his lips move, and NOT COMPREHENDING a bloomin' thing? Oh, wait....I just changed the channel to the Weather station and could totally understand that so I'm going back to the news conference now that I've checked my mental status and.............NOPE - he's totally incomprehensible.
Its not me. Its him! Oh, some news guy actually had the cojones to ask about the bipartisan thingy - "made overtures to republicans" - put 3 republicans in my cabinet - wasn't designed to get short term votes but to get trust over time, hopefully that will be reciprocated. But understand the bottom line right now - I can't afford to see congress play the usual political games and we need to deliver a package - everyone has to be POSSESSED with a sense of urgency. My tone with republicans has been civil and respectful.. and on that note I remember him saying childishly "I won" so I'm going back to the weather channel where I'm more inclined to believe the weatherman than I am the POTUS idiot. Watching the hussein interview. He’s lying out his ass as usual. Keeps going on about RVs and crumbling schools and everything is Bush’s fault. Blah, blah, blah, gimme your money, blah, blah, blah.
But a few minutes ago some sucker of cock asked about a timetable to abandon AFGHANISTAN and then whined about not showing the pictures of our war dead’s flag-draped coffins. Rope. Tree. Journalist. Some assembly required. Now he’s throwing Biden under the bus. How is there still room? Oh, for fucks sake! “What do you think about A-Rod?” Real fucking hardball question I’m sure I’m not the only one whose noticed that when hussein says words like ‘Pakistan’ he sounds like a native speaker. Or at least someone who speaks fluent arabic. Which he denies, although some have heard him speak that language quite eloquently. He was just asked about Leahy's proposed witch hunt and show trials into the Bush administration. He sounds open to it. Posted by: ticticboom at February 09, 2009 08:55 PM (QTtAw) 368

Also, he did not say 300 million jobs, it was 400 million jobs created -of course the CIA estimate from last summer was the US has a bit over 300 million in the entire population. Another numerically challenged bag of shit in the District of Communism. Oh, single moms can't afford this or that. Speaking of welfare, if I have to pass a piss test to get a job, have the government take my hard earned money under threat of fine and imprisonment, which then gives that money to people too lazy to get off their fat asses to put food in their children's mouths, shouldn't they have to pass a piss test to get my money? It was Congress (Democrats) that demanded banks change their rules or be punshed by the federal govt. unless they gave loans out to people who could not pay them back, or had a high risk factor -to be fair to the little guy, and buy votes. The dems put up a bill, HR 45, that would require all past present and future gun owners to get a Federal Handgun License and register all their weapons with the US Government. this true, about reporters no longer being allowed to raise hands and
ask questions, but the president goes to a pre-selected list?
Do you mean we are never more going to have the regular type press conference, where people raise their hands and call out questions? This just seems so wrong, somehow. Who cares about this? I began watching House and there was this delusional idiot babbling--I guessed that he had suffered a recent concusion from hitting the back of his head on a low-hung object like a door frame or something similar, and that this had caused a brain hemorrhage that, along with drug-related problems indicated by his moobs, had turned him delusional. (He seemed to think that he was President). But there wasn't a sarcastic doctor with a bum leg calling him an idiot for thinking that the government spending trillions on, well, anything but especially on the bullshit he was spouting off about, was totally insane and that he'd need a frontal lobotomy if they wanted to save his life. So I watched for 15 minutes, expecting this and waiting for the guy to keel over and start frothing at the mouth (or for one of his aides to have an attack--the good old House false potential patient double-cross opening) but it didn't come. So I said to hell with it and watched Futurama instead. Boy, is House ever starting to suck now with the new team and House not doing clinic duty anymore. Can't afford firearms? Never heard of such a thing - must be you don't know where to shop. You can get a decent high-powered boltie very cheaply, and used shotguns for not much more [and a single shot 12 ga, used, may only cost about 50-60$, tops]. And, look, I'm speaking from NY [Schumer-land] where pawn shops don't sell 'em. Just find somebody to take you around, go to auctions, etc.
