After 14 Days Obama Already Tired of the White House

So he just up and left.

With little notice, the president and first lady Michelle Obama bolted the gated compound of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in their tank of a limousine on Tuesday. They ended up at a Washington public school, greeted by children who could not care less about the collapse of a Cabinet secretary nomination.

"We were just tired of being in the White House," the president candidly told the gleeful second-graders at Capital City Public Charter School.

"We got out! They let us out!" Mrs. Obama said as the kids and their teachers laughed.

The White House said the Obamas' trip had been planned, just not publicly announced.

The surprise timing, though, gave the feel of two different worlds.

What was going on at the White House yesterday? Tom Daschle was getting thrown under the bus. So was Nancy Killefer. Too tough for President Obama. He may have also been psychically girding himself for an interview with velocireporter Brian Williams. He opened his mouth an out popped...the truth?

"Did I screw up in this situation? Absolutely. I'm willing to take my lumps," Obama told NBC's Brian Williams, one of five interviews he gave yesterday afternoon. Obama told the network anchors that there are "not two sets of rules" for people, and said that average taxpayers deserve to have public officials who pay their taxes on time.

Did Obama discover this idea recently (which makes him an idiot) or did he fail to perform basic background checks on his nominees (which makes him inept)?

Charter schools have alot less weapons. Call it cost cutting and incident mitigation by the Secret Service (SS) Detail. I knew a couple people in the 90's who were on the Clinton detail.

What was missing in the photo-op, was the long hours of sweeping the school by the SS Prez Detail. I bet the kids saw alot of suits that day, so it wasn't as much of a surprise as the MSM painted it.

He's lived in a little bubble of Messiah-genius narcissism where he hasn't had to make hard decisions or deal with any real criticism. As the pressure gets more intense (and gosh golly, Smilin' Joe was right...the world is going to test him), he's going to suffer further conflicts between his self___ as The One and reality that he is a bumbling nincompoop.

To be fair, though: Jimmy Carter sent Amy to the local DC public school, and she grew up to become a world-class nitwit. So I can understand why the Obamas want to keep their daughters well away from those schools. What I can't understand is why they want to block the children of the poor from getting away from them, too.

If he actually believed "that there are "not two sets of rules" for people" then he would have no problem with Tom Daschle, Nancy Killefer, Tim Geithner, Bill Richardson, Marrion Barry all getting run up the flagpole like us commoners.  I doubt the IRS would let me get away with mild public embarrassment as a form of punishment if I didn't bother to pay taxes.

34 Words, just words.

As it is now, the POTUS visit to an elementary school brings the horror of 9/11 to mind, and the horrible way that Bush was mutilated by the press for making his graceful exit from his elementary school visit.

Obama is doing a lousy job on his overlay of that setting. Exactly what is the bum trying to either trigger or re-enact? Manipulating the innocence of children to cover his own ineptitudes only makes him the worse for wear. Why are HIS children not attending the public school, spreading the wealth of "enlightenment" with the masses?

Contempt.
Antipathy.

Bad guys are probing us all the time, looking for weaknesses, searching for opportunities, hunting for that gap in the wire or break in the lines. Obama may be overwhelmed by the unexpected weight of the responsibilities he's assumed with the office or he might be reeling from the hard slap of reality after all of these months and years living in the dreamworld of his ambitions. What sort of lesson are they teaching the kids they visited when they make it sound like the White House is a prison they have to "escape" for some fun? And, as others have already pointed out, this probably wasn't a quick cut and run from the WH, because there's no way the Secret Service or anyone else lets the President do something unscripted and unplanned like this. Yeah, I'm willing to bet that:
* Obama will take a vacation to Hawaii, at least as long and at least as "early" as the "vacations" that Bush got slammed for in 2001
* It'll be a real vacation - Biden in charge in DC, no meetings with foreign officials or anything like that
* According to the media, this will be a good thing.

80 How on earth did this jackass fool 52% of the people and 95% of the media ?

Doubtless, the first follows from the second.

81 You mean I have to keep doing this for the whole eight to ten years?  Can't I just start running for the next job -- Emperor of the World?  It's been two weeks, and I'm ready for a new challenge.

82 I really don't see what the big deal is.  From what I understand, the White House is "hot enough to grow orchids" (global warming, no doubt).  Obviously, the President just needed a break from the heat.

83 "...as others have already pointed out, this probably wasn't a quick cut and run from the WH, because there's no way the Secret Service or anyone else lets the President do something unscripted and unplanned like this."

Remember, The Detail has to live as close to this jugeared fuckhead as the clothes he wears, 24/7, so If we're this tired of him and his shit as distanced as we are, imagine how they feel.

Any bets on how many of them have at least thought about whether or not he's worth taking a bullet for???

So, The One is having problems with his political appointments.  Nobody should be surprised.  See, this is what happens when you use a 'Chicago Vetting Form.'  It doesn't ask anything about your finances, your views on terrorism, where you were born (multiple choice question), or how you voted last year.  It only asks one question: "WHO SENT YOU?"

Socialist ends, Chicago means.  Pray for the Republic.

something should be done about the disaster in KY, but they aren't, um, darkly pigmented in skin tone, so nothing is going to happen.

I've been thinking that but I didn't want to say it out loud.  Besides, aren't these the backward, inbred, bitter gun-and-Bible-clingers that we were warned about?

What really worries me about this is that this is exactly what every despot around the world is waiting to see, weakness.  It's the exact opposite of Reagan scaring the hell out of the Kremlin by firing all the striking air traffic controllers.  If Obama can't handle having to withdraw 2 of his appointees how is he going to handle Russian tanks in the Ukraine, or NoKo missile debris falling on Japan, or a Chinese threat to crash the global financial system if we don't give them something (Taiwan, most favored import status).  Our already girded loins are going to need a lot more girding.

On a personal level this is simply pathetic.  I always knew Obama was no where near cut out to be president but I never would have guessed that the empty armored limousine pulling up to the White House was dropping Obama off, not picking him up.

When Mr. Entitlement and Mrs. Grievance went to the school,  one girl said she hoped to be First Lady someday. The First Lady complained to the child: "It doesn't pay much".

Yet somehow Laura Bush managed to squeak by, after we forced the job on her.

91 Can't wait for the Michael Moore "documentary" on the financial scandal -- Fahrenheit $999 Billion" -- where he shows Congress rudderlessly trying to enact useless legislation while Obama's off reading "My Pet Goat" to school children.

I'm sure it'll be in there.

92 What sort of lesson are they teaching the kids they visited when they make it sound like the White House is a prison they have to "escape" for some fun?

We need to start a collection to buy him a Wii or Game Cube.

I'm told there's a rather nice shooting range in the basement that Clinton used regularly.  Just order up a full auto MP5 and about 10,000 rounds and you could be entertained all day.
