Buh-bye Blago, you'll be missed.

Wow, now they are just rubbing salt in the wound. The Senate is voting to prohibit Blago from ever holding office in the state again. Ouch.

Now he doesn't have an office to trade in his criminal case. I wonder if he has any names he'd like to name.

Senator Rolland Burris only comment was, "I'm still Senator, right?" Technically, I may have made that up.

Thanks to Slu for the heads up on the vote and of course "The Blago Skull". Damn I'm going to miss that.

Now Illinois is a liveable place again. Thank God for the integrity of the Illinois Legislature!

My Dad is friends with his state senator in suburban Chicago--at a BBQ last summer, he referred to the gov'nuh as a "full-time knucklehead," even before the Fitzgerald indictment. He was a truly bizarre and idiotic leader. I expect him to be back in office by 2016.

Just before Blago's arrest, the Chicago Tribune published the fact that Fitzgerald had wiretaps on Blago's phones. After that, the chances of catching anybody red handed dropped to zero, and Fitz had to go with what he had.

Frankly, Fitzgerald's case now is mostly smoke and mirrors: a lot of conspiracy stuff, but no deals actually made. That's why the dramatic arrest, and the appeals to the public to come forward with information: Fitzgerald was trying to make something out of damned little. Blago hasn't been indicted for anything yet, and he may not even go to trial, let alone be convicted.
