Politico: "Who IS This Obama Guy Anyway?"

Call me biased, but I think the proper time to ask these questions might have been..............October? But what the hell do I know? I didn't graduate with a degree in journalism.

Who is Barry? He is loved around the world. That's all that matters.

TRIPOLI: Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi, who applauded Barack Obama's election, has said the United States under the new president is a "new America."

First Fidel praised Barry now it's Kadhafi. I'm waiting for Barry to get bin Laden's seal of approval.

Obama, why he's the President of the United States of America, the republic's head of state, chief of the executive branch, commander-in-chief of the military, holder of what's arguably the most important job in the world. Yessiree, that's a serious position with awesome responsibilities. You'll want to be as sure as can be that whoever takes that job has the mettle for it.

(Or not; up to you, really.)

8 The article posed good questions, a year too late. More interesting I thought were the reader comments. One comment really caught my eye - international opinion has changed, the rest of the world loves us know (paraphrasing here). I wonder if the person who made that comment realizes that a large portion of the world's community also loves Robert Mugabe and Bin Laden and at one time thought Idi Amin was da' man? Picking the right person for the job is more important than picking the popular person for the job...I blame American Idol, I truly do.

9 I love how these jizzbags like to say that Obastard has shown that he can make the big decision quickly when one of those decisions was to stop the Gitmo tribunals for 120 days so they can dither over it.  A decision to do nothing by the black Seinfeld presidency.

22 Copypasta'd from the Garrison Keillor thread:

I mean, damnation, the man's accomplished SO MUCH.

Remember how the Annenberg Challenge made Chicago Public Schools the envy of the nation?

Remember the stunning success of his "community organization", and how that district of Chicago rose from the slums and elevated it's denizens into the middle-class?

Remember how, as a State Senator, he tirelessly fought corruption, endured the raging political storms, and produced the most ethitcal and productive Statehouse Illinois had ever seen?

Remember, as a US Senator, all those important televised committee hearings he chaired?  How many key pieces of legislation were pinned by him and defended on the Senate floor?

Yeah, neither do I.

23 It is not about reality for the self-worshiping libtards that elected America's first openly communist president. It is about New Age visualization of the imagined, or desired, into the reality. Its about joining all of humanity, whether they want to be or not, on the astral plane of Universal Consciousness. It is all about emotion, and nothing to do with logical choices.

The beginning of the end was women getting to vote...

3) Will a school teacher kick his ass and become the next president?  Actually if the metaphor plays out, Palin fans might be celebrating 4 years from now.

Been saying that for almost two years, at least since Barack Obama became the Democrats candidate.  Baltar won the BSG election because as Tory Foster pointed out to President Roslin: "People vote there hopes" and Roslin was simply giving them the cold hard truths.

We have indeed given our own Baltar the reins of goverment and we did so becuse alot of us thought it'd make us 'feel good' rather then be safer.

30 robtr,
It's hard for American journalists to be investigative reporters.  You see, the number one rule of American journalism is never, ever contradict another journalist on the facts even when he is lying his head off.  Doesn't leave one much to investigate without making himself a pariah.  So the best you get is this whiny crap from the politico...while they shill for Obama as hard as they can shill.

Read the Politico article today and while I thought that it asked some good questions, they weren’t hard enough – too little too late.  Something, else happened today that a lot of people may have missed, I sure wish I had.  Robert Gibbs conducted his first press conference and O presented his first executive orders – for those that missed both, I feel pretty confident in stating that to even the most objective of observers….these folks aren’t ready for prime time, not even close.

In fact, they are acting like rank amateurs, seriously; and I say that after watching politics for over 20 years.  Maybe it’s just that the learning curve is steeper than they expected or maybe it takes every admin. a while to get up and running but geez, I thought I was watching a Rotary Club meeting today with Gibbs.  He was asked by three separate reporters “how can O close Gitmo without a plan to deal with the detainees” and his answer was that the issue is being studied and that O is committed to keeping Americans safe….that’s it.  When asked by Major Garret what O would do with Bin Laden if he were captured (how would be questioned, detained, tried, etc.) Gibbs responded (after a long pause) that he’d have to discuss it with Greg [Craig] and get back to them…..WHAT?

The kicker was when O presented his EO’s, he read them, then asked Greg Craig if there was a separate plan to deal with the detainees, during his presentation.  They don’t have a clue about what they’re doing here….God help us with this guy, no joke.

When I mentioned disposing of the detainees today, I was confusing releasing all of the upstanding people of color held at Guantanamo with the camps for Republicans and other ne'er-do-wells that will be set up in an executive order tomorrow.  I apologize for any confusion regarding who will be disposed of.

Thanks,

Barry

51 The MSM isn't given magical question asking powers. Anyone who can attend an event with a Q&A session can ask a question and get the response on video. I did my best to encourage people to go to Obama's events and ask him questions, but no one did anything.

In fact, a guest poster at this very site even re-posted my plea here (see UPDATE 5):

http://tinyurl.com/bxaacd

And, no one did anything.

Unfortunately, I can't do everything myself. So, if anyone wants real questions to be asked, try to organize into local groups to go out and ask the questions the MSM won't ask. Feel free to use some of my questions, and I'm even willing to help others edit questions for maximum effectiveness:

No, February.  After the Iowa Caucuses, he should have been given the media anal exam we all expected.  Team Hillary really let us down.

Fundamentally, what happened was that liberals needed absolution from their own racism.  Because liberals are racist.  Very racist, in fact.  Moreso than the average Joe.  Their elitism finds voice against JtP or Sarah Palin, but they make judgments about everyone they meet and secretly their view of a minority on the street is not a kind one.
