Coulter, Limbaugh on MSM and Obama's Rise

The best part of the interview, I think. The last half is the good half:

The other videos are at Hot Air.

2 Ann at her best is fantastic. And this is Ann near her best. Rush, for as seldom as he does interviews, is one of the best interviewers in the business. He lets his guests talk. He steers them subtly to what's interesting, and then lets them go.

But, and this is slightly off-topic, I don't see how she's "hot." She really needs to pack on at least 20 lbs. Not that I wouldn't hit it, but you really wouldn't want to see some of the things I've hit, in the right (or wrong) circumstances.

3 Clearly, we have not moderated our views and policies enough to get a winning share of the votes.  It may be time to ditch the Republican brand and rename ourselves the Democats.  The resulting confusion may just gain us a couple of seats!

U
ntil we are willing to let RINO's like Specter go down, and not nominate RINOs like McCain, we will continue to have a worthless (me too) R party.  Now is the time to burn off the chaff, re-focus, and rebuild.

But first, defeat the RINO's, even if it means a few extra Dems for awhile.

9 What did Ann say about everyone claiming victimhood status?

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida mother charged in the killing of her toddler daughter described herself as a victim when talking to her parents during a jailhouse visit last August. Casey Anthony, 22, told her parents she was just as much a victim as anyone else in the case during the recorded visit at the Orange County Jail in Orlando. Copies of the visit were released this week.

I'd rather let the Dems own this socialist crap than see it championed by some smug RINO like McDouche.

To me the high tide of the 20th century was when I woke up in 1994 and  Rush was on TV saying to the camera:  I know you Liberals are out there listening to me, I know you there, and I want you to know, I have one thing to say to you:

I don't think Savage is any different from most of the AoS commenters. I think the only reason why some conservatives have an adverse reaction to Savage is because they're not used to hearing un-PC stuff on the airwaves.

34
I mean, we're all sickened by the Leftists, right?

And we all think they're lying cheating sneaky evil un-American cocksuckers, right?

You realize that the Left has no interest at all in coexisting with Conservatives and only wish to destroy us and everything we stand for, right?

But if you heard that on the radio, some of you pussies nice people would wring your hands and worry that the speaker is giving the Conservatives a bad name. Time to grow up, my friends, and realize just how high are the stakes.

No, I don't like it when he attacks other conservatives, which he does all the time.  And he's a megalomaniac. He claimed on his show, that after he endorsed McCain during the election , his poll numbers when up. He says stuff like that all the time - (yeah I listen to him sometimes in the car).

He said something today that didn't even make sense, (I forgot what it was ) and I had to turn the channel.

Sometimes, he can be entertaining.

Michael Savage isn't the most eloquent representative we have, but for fuck's sake, people, we need every voice we can get. No matter what you think of Savage's radio show he's a decent man and far far better than the evil rotten thugs on the Left.

Hellooooo, McFly???

54 Coulter and Limbaugh are almost always right. No one agrees with anyone on everything, so there's always that caveat, but they remain foundationally solid in both what they say and how they say it.

What gets everyone's (and by everyone, I pretty much mean Donks and media (BIRM)) panties in a twist is their style, not their content, which is the best and sum critical conclusion of bullshit those getting their asses kicked in the intellectual debate can muster when Coulter or Limbaugh get through with them.

They remain two of the most valuable assets of independent, conservative thought in the nation - a branch of thought that is being eroded and sabotaged by the GOP (CINOs) at an alarming rate.

As to AP's quote WRT dissing Kos et al. and language: "All she’s doing is playing a cruder version of Tom Hanks’s new favorite game."

Yeah, AP, that's all she's doing. Nothing more. She couldn't possibly be suggesting something more deep than that (say, jabbing at socialists who have immediate pedigree from anti-capitalist centers and who are importing that socialism via their political activism) because she's just that thoughtless and shallow. Not very subtle with the traffic-whoring while bashing that someone whose style you dislike, eh?

AP is becoming unbearable. Morrissey is quite thoughtful and I thoroughly enjoy his work. AP, however, has become more the traffic monger whose mission is more to get eyeballs than anything else. His routine of Palin-bashing stories, religion, and angles like this one (Coulter-slighting) are clearly designed to gin up angst among the Right. Red meat indeed.

68 kbdabear: "I think Allahpundit has a martyr complex. He enjoys the pain."

Maybe. I used to think he was just a proverbial cynic (even worse than me), but I've read enough of his commentary long enough now to think that gives him too much credit. I see his posts more along the lines of a guy making a living doing blogging, and that entails drawing traffic. Agitating the Right is the method to his madness even if he philosophically leans Right most of the time. I'm just seeing dollar signs now when I read his work more than the content of what he actually says.

kbdabear: "Look at Barney compared to Chelsea."

Now that made me laugh. It shouldn't have, of course, but I'm cold-hearted. I also despise Clintons, so I've got that going for me.

Dennis Miller's great. Hard to believe he escaped from California liberalism, but he always was an insightful guy. Jerry Doyle, on the other hand, I don't think I've ever heard. Time to keep the ears peeled for him since Hannity will inevitably get tiresome.

I respect his opinion and think he is an excellent interviewer. I would love to see five conservatives like him in congress. Crap, I'd take one conservative like him in congress.

Savage needs to shut his demented pie hole. Levin who is a great fan and very much like Limbaugh would shred Savage on just about any subject except health supplements. I only wish Limbaugh and Levin were in public office.

Posted by: mare at January 16, 2009 10:51 PM (X1fsj)

79 Pliny the Elder,

I think Coulter and Limbaugh do hold the line for the Right, agree with them or not. The GOP is a middling political organizational at this point and "off the rails," as it were, if you're on the Coulter/Limbaugh engine. The GOP leaders, because they've been losing recently, have been trying to distance themselves from the "radicalism" of C/L since they're the scapegoats of a flailing entity that is the GOP.

I understand that tendency, particularly of political whores, to salvage thier political careers by going with what would be contemporaneous conventional wisdom and blowing political trends -- followers do that; I just disagree with it philosophically. C/L have the advantage that their particular arena does not demand of them that they sacrifice principles to make a living. In fact, their stridency actually helps their careers when the political winds change because of their "extremism."

Posted by: AnonymousDrivel at January 16, 2009 10:52 PM (sI5Ho)

80 Morrissey is quite thoughtful and I thoroughly enjoy his work.

I was a regular reader back when he had CQ, and he always struck me as a perfect John McCain Republican. (His big issue in domestic politics? Earmarks! Followed by nothing.)

But if you can get past his dissing the right to try to placate the "moderates" then I agree that he's a decent writer. Especially as long as the topic is not related to conservatism.

The site is useful though for a quick headsup on the day's activity, but for commentary no one beats Ace. Rush and Ann are peanut butter and chocolate. Superb.

86 Flenser, I absolutely agree with you. Ed has impressed me as a cheesehead version of a beltway mannered pundit, with little passion. Unless it's something like abortion... And even then he isn't exactly a firebrand. I just about threw up today, hearing him and Duane P. admonishing us to be open minded and tolerant of The One.

88 "I was a regular reader back when he had CQ, and he always struck me as a perfect John McCain Republican."

Now that's too cold-blooded. Just call him Beelzebub while you're at it.

Sometimes, yes, Morrissey will moderate since he does mingle among a more considerate audience; however, I do respect his opinion even if I think he's providing too much cover for the GOP platform. I think he actually believes in what he posts and tries to be respectful to others he's trying to persuade.

Different strokes for different folks, and the Right still needs a few of them to balance the morons even when the morons are right.

92 OK, so if we're going pet peeves, I absolutely love Mark Levin in print. He's thoughtful, reasoned, logical, often brilliant.

But on the radio, every time I've listened, he's spent 90% of his air time making up schoolyard third-grade taunting names for everyone he doesn't like. He doesn't even seem like the same person.

I have yet to hear a decent, coherent. logical monologue from Levin on his radio program (and, admittedly, I only catch him about twice a month, when I'm driving through areas where I can pick up his radio show.)

I have been, honestly, extremely disappointed every time I've heard his radio show. I bought "Men in Black" when it came out, and it's one of my top 10 political books of all time, and his "Corner" posts and print columns are fantastic. I can't even connect the taunting, name-calling, ranting, illogical radio voice I've heard with the reasoned, intellectual Mark Levin I've read in print.

I was a regular reader back when he had CQ, and he always struck me as a perfect John McCain Republican. (His big issue in domestic politics? Earmarks! Followed by nothing.)

I agree. Unfortunately the guys at Power Line are taking the same tack. I also used to like reading AJ Strata occasionally, because even though he's a squishy moderate he'd occasionally write something worth reading. After the last MSM barrage over the song  Barack the Magic Negro, however, AJ went totally nuts -- you had to condemn it or you were a kard karrying klansman. I haven't gone back there since then because I figure I'm probably banned.

The PC disease is both highly contageous and very deadly.

Son, even if you're only 21, it shouldn't take your grandad; your Dad could tell you something about 1978.

But in case he can't, let me just say that "blow-dried" wasn't just for above the eyebrows, back in '78. I'm guessing that had I encountered a shaved "mustang," in '78, I'd have zipped up quick, with a "shit, I coulda swore you were old enough."

Every time I've heard that asshat on a podcast he apes this pathetic passive agressive persona, where he moans that he knows everyone will jump down his throat, 'cause he's not one of the enlightened Conservatives. He plays this game before he even makes a point, as if whining "everybody's ganging up on me" will inoculate him from defending his liberal positions.

On the other hand, Bradley also kicked serious shit in North Africa, Sicily, Paris, during the Battle of the Bulge, and on D-Day. And he didn't do badly on the drive to Berlin in '45.

Although I don't know how that relates to the Grahams, McCains, Snowes, Lugars, Specters and whatnont that we have in the GOP.

Rush doesn't babble about college football.

He does, however, babble a lot -- lots more than he did ten years ago. Painfully more, at times. Everybody in talk radio has a huge ego, that's a given -- but Rush thinks he's so brilliant we'll all be fascinated by every minuscule matter he considered before he finally renders his opinion. That leads to lots of verbal diarrhea. He's now at his best when he's up against the clock and has spit it out instead of drawing it out.

I still like him and listen to him when I can, but I think he peaked stylistically years ago.

Hey Lana,

That was fun! Here's my speech.

My fellow Americans, today is a criminal day. You have shown the world that "hope" is not just another word for "acorn", and that "change" is not only something we can believe in again, but something we can actually bamboozle.

Today we celebrate, but let there be no mistake – America faces socialist and inexperienced challenges like never before. Our economy is blue. Americans can barely afford their mortgages, let alone have enough money left over for donkeys. Our healthcare system is heavenly. If your ears is sick and you don't have insurance, you might as well call a community organizer. And America's image overseas is tarnished like a michelle obama barney frank. But bowling together we can right this ship, and set a course for ayer's house.

Finally, I must thank my cool family, my mean campaign volunteers, but most of all, I want to thank democrats for making this historic occasion possible. Of course, I must also thank you, President Bush, for years of cow tipping the American people. Without your depressing efforts, none of this would have been possible.

144 Geez people.  Ann and Rush and Allah are all in the same business.  Selling ads and books.  It's what they do and they're good at it because they make it entertaining.  Not one thing wrong with it.

I understand the commentary about Ann not selling out in her commentary because it's her focus.  She's selling books to people who like her spit-in-their-eye style.  Seeing a woman say it is a total turn on.  Lauer would do her in a heartbeat if he weren't such a pussy that he couldn't get it up when the time came.  Also, she firmly believes it.  I must also agree with the fact that she spares no time for entertaining emotional arguments and argues like a man.  That alone is worth the price of every book she writes.  Stick your emotional rationalization for your illogical opinion where the sun don't shine.

However, if Rush was a conservative before a salesman he would have endorsed a candidate before McCain got the numbers.  Not that I don't love his mind, but I'm just sayin'.  They're all selling something we want.  The fact is we are talking about them.  It's working.  Hello?

149 You know why people hate Ann? Because she thinks and debates like a man. Women (liberal women) can't stand that.

Looking at the other side, I'm sure that this is the reason that libtards have such a love/hate relationship with Camille Paglia. The "thinks and debates like a man" thing is one of my favorite lines from her introduction to Sexual Personae.

Of course, Paglia's a committed Obama supporter, even though she seems to spend more column inches in Salon criticizing Bambi rather than defending him. It's like she's denying her intellect, and it irritates the hell out of me. All that effort to try to make the case that you're a rational person, and then pissing it away on an emotional attachment.

164 #152,

Ya beat me to the motor boat thang, but having been in sales, yeah.  The vessels get 'em every time.  Cannot imagine why Pamela had a problem with that since being a smart, savvy realist she knows it true.  Plus, she sorta plastered it on her website (no harm, no foul in my book!)  Reminds me of the line from True Lies, "The Vette...get's 'em wet."

I'm still trying to come up with, "The jugs....get's 'em  ????"  Whatever it is, it certainly drives traffic to say the least, but only if the content is good.  Pamela has great content.

171 I can't even go to Little Green Footballs much anymore since Charles Johnson launched his one man crusade to save Americans from believing actual science could possibly demonstrate that all forms of live did not arrive as a result of natural processes alone with the outcomes being dictated by chance rather than an intelligence.

Insofar as he may want to call some Creationists to task for using shoddy science to attempt to 'prove' a young earth, I'm all for that.

But about a year ago he self-started this crusade to save the world from the proponents of Intelligent Design.

So all you find over there now is Islamic Fundamentalist threads and anti-ID stuff.

My understanding is the vast majority of Conservatives have a hard time believing God could design all the different forms of life we see, and yet there will never ever be not a shred of any type of scientific evidence to demonstrate that.

Instead, guys like Johnson and Allahpundit hold it's only 'science' as long as you start with complete Naturalism, which rules out any evidence ever being found that shows design in the first place.

172 "I don't think Savage is any different from most of the AoS commenters."@9:39pm

Good point. It's a generation thing.

Through his self centered acidic ambiance, though, Savage is generous in his patronage of victims other than himself. When he's on point, his bite is much worse than his bark. In that, he and Rush are not alike. Savage can argue against the devil and either win or hold his own ground. Too frequently, though, his tyrades are unbearable. Rush, on the other hand, expresses his talent with gregarious bravado. But when anyone toots their own horn like a broken record, you just have to turn them off, even Rush. But instinctively, Rush really does sense our Zeitgeist better than Savage more often than not. They both have insight, but their stylistic delivery lacks compatibility, sadly, because of Savage's inability to accept a rival as a friend, and Rush not needing a friend like Savage. However, if they were to coordinate and spearhead the new Conservative party that Savage offered to do pre-election, that would be magnificent.

Savage and Rush do share in common the tendency to spend airtime describing personal dining events that don't translate well out of the context "you had to be there" to care. Dr. Savage's professional insights relating to nutrition are worth knowing and getting from reading his books.

Coulter has her own brilliance. Where Savage would likely demonize her, Rush brought out her best on air. Oddly enough, Savage and Coulter share in common so much, he'd be hard put to admit his own verbal cruelty, whereas Coulter may curb her tongue with more self control.

I enjoyed catching the end of the Rush/Ann dialogue. I wish Rush would feature Ann each week for an hour together.

Conservative personalities need to cooperate for the movement and get over their own big headed selves.

The election is over, and megaphone mania with it. Now comes the ORGANIZATIONAL STAGE wherein the RNC is a puss ridden corpse carrying toxicity. The Grand Old Party is not Republican In Name Only. Allow the GOP to ascend from the RINO like the Phoenix. Purge McCain; castrate the RINO progressive enablers. Elect JR Hayworth.

First off, I have nothing but praise for Rush or Ann.  And to any of her detractors (based on looks), take it from a man who's been with plenty of women that skinny women are not like railroad tracks.  It's a different kind of fun, but it's still fun.

Now, about Allahpundit--I'm going to use the P word.  That's right, PHONY.  AP has never ever stood fast on any unpopular conservative issue; he constantly spreads gloom; he always has a taunting, gleeful tone when he spreads it; he's an unrepentant atheist; and, to top it all off, HE WON'T EVEN RELEASE HIS NAME.

He isn't a money-hungry opportunist.  He's a left-wing provocateur.

The same is true for Savage.  He used to hang out with Beatniks, and now he claims to have become a conservative.

Why, then, did he contribute money to Jerry Brown?

Note that, for all his phony rage, he always manages to turn it back on conservatives like Limbaugh.  Just how, exactly, is Rush like Boy George?  Did he get arrested for gay rape without me hearing about it?  This is the classic tactic of abusive husbands--first play your victim off against those who truly love her, and then when you have her under your absolute control, let your true, evil self come out.

IF WE ARE TO AVOID EXTERMINATION BY THE INCOMING COMMUNIST REGIME, WE MUST FIRST PURGE TRAITORS FROM OUR MIDST.
