From Today's Pro-Israel Rally in Denver

Alice H was at the Capitol in Denver this afternoon taking pictures of the rallies (keep scrolling, great stuff).

I've tucked a few under the fold to keep them from blowing out the margins.

The pro-Israel group was on one side of the street. On the other side...well, they're not just pro-Palestine, they're full on pro-Hamas:

And anti-Israel:

Let Alice know what you think.

4 @kids with signs

Is anyone firing rockets from your school? Or backyard? Better ask your parents...

5 Even in Denver they use kids!

Posted by: Robert at January 12, 2009 12:23 AM (fwQ5b)

6 When people use their kids for these things, I fail to feel any sympathy for their cause. I feel like I should feel bad for the kids, but I'm afraid they're going to grow up and be just like their parents.

"Israel, am I your next target?"  Dunno kids.  Ask your Hamas overlords.  They're the ones that use your schools and homes as rocket launch pads and weapon depots.  What are your parents THINKING allowing that to happen?

FREE PALISTINE! (from Hamas)

10 And why do they think it's ok to bring their kids to these kinds of protests? I understand taking them to pro-America things to show pride in country, but it seems to me they're teaching their kids hate when they take them to these kinds of rallies.

Posted by: wherestherum at January 12, 2009 12:37 AM (jToqn)

13 It is a special mixture of stupidity and ignorance that makes someone believe that Israel is targeting children. Some critical mental circuit is missing or damaged in the folks that can't see or understand that dead children on both sides have only one enemy: Hamas, and by extension Radical Islam in all its guises.

It an intractable and evil mental circuit in the minds of others who know the truth, but still shout lies from rooftops, street corners, printing presses, and keyboards.

Posted by: eman at January 12, 2009 12:42 AM (ZsOIJ)

14 Those kids may be the next targets if Hamas chooses to launch rockets from their school and then hide like spineless cowards in their midst.

It is unfortunate that you did not show the ridiculous signs the other side was holding. You all sit here and rant in your one sided world without ever hearing what this side, and the whole arab world has to say. For your information, this side was in no way pro-hamas. they were pro freedom. Pro peace. Pro Justice. Things that Israel has never shown the Palestinians. I cannot believe that your blind hatred has you on here joking about killing these children. You should NEVER wish death on anyone. Palestinian or Israeli. I am upset that you cannot even acknowledge the fact that less than twenty Israeli's have died, yet they answered back with attacks that have killed almost 1 thousand people. For those of you who haven't, look at Gaza on a map. One thousand people dead in such a small area. I was at this protest and I saw both sides. If you want to talk about cars driving by, why not mention the car that repeatedly drove by with Israeli flags that kept flipping off the Pro- Palestinian side.  The people you see in these pictures are angry. They are angry because too many people have died. So please, don't mistake them as pro-hamas. These people do NOT want to see death. Also, there were children on both sides. So everything you have said about leftest liberals using the children, must go for the other side as well.

By the way, I have no plans to ever check this website again, so there is no point on posting any crap insulting me. I do not waste my time on people who hate. People who value some lives over others. For the worlds sake I hope you investigate both sides and find something better to do with your lives.

34 (Knowing "Sara" is probably raping the F5 key right now)

What ridiculous signs would those be, Sara?  I think I posted a picture of just about every sign at the rally, including several full-crowd shots.  Gabriel's not obligated to repost every picture here.

The difference between children at the pro-Israel rally and at the pro-hate rally (since you don't want us to call it a pro-Hamas rally) is that the message at the pro-Israel rally was one of being united with America and self-defense.  The children at the pro-hate rally were being taught to be shields and targets, being taught chants of "USA is a crime" and "Allahu Akbar".  The Israel rally was a celebration of life, the hate rally was a glorification of death.  And I'm not saying this to be blind, but I didn't see a car with an Israel flag flipping people off.  I did, however, see a car dragging the flag of Israel, bloodied, behind it.  What happens to someone who disrespects a Muslim religious symbol in that way?

And don't blame us because Hamas is inefficient at murder.  Or because they use children, schools, and hospitals as human shields.  They targeted a nursing home with rockets a few days ago - do you really think that's acting in preservation of human life?

Posted by: Alice H at January 12, 2009 02:06 AM (jRtPb)

35 Pro peace.

Yep. I know I've always found that firing 4,000 rockets at my neighbor is a recipe for peace.

Save it for your dullwitted hippie friends, Sara. No one here is buying it. Just like we're not buying that you're not coming back here again.

For the worlds sake I hope you investigate both sides

Posted by: kat at January 12, 2009 02:14 AM (S7Xpi)

38 The absurdity of comparing Israel to Nazi Germany is almost beyond my comprehension. Is Israel stuffing millions of Palestinians into ovens and carting them off to concentration camps that we don't know about? I'm sure if that were the case AP and Reuters would be on it like white on rice.

Good pics, Alice. I'm glad there are people out there documenting the good, the bad and the batshit crazy.

Why is it that everytime someone speaks of the muslims it has to be in a negative way??

Most of those kids beg and scream for their parents to allow them to go to those rallies. And I personally saw children on the pro israel side, protesting with their signs and such. So what's with the double standards??

All I'm saying, it that this war just needs to be over, and no more innocent people (on either side) need to die to end it.

45 Kat brings up a good point. Why do they cover their faces? Is it really cowardice or does it have some other sort of meaning? If they're fighting such a noble cause, why do they need to hide their identities? Do they think there are covert Mossad forces here that'll seek them out and kill them?

I also noticed the classy guy on the pro-Hamas side with the "Gaza massacre" sign that had a picture of what looks like a dead child. No propaganda here, nothing to see, move a long.

Posted by: robtr at January 12, 2009 02:27 AM (uJzOr)

47 I think we already covered the "double standard", BitchFace.

When Muslims start standing up against radical Islam violence, they will deserve respect when discussing matters like this.  Otherwise, they're complicit.

There were lots of dead child posters, wherestherum.  I felt it was enough to show a representative sample on that rather than going all out and showing them all.  I can't remember where I read it, but it really felt like this today: Hamas uses babies and children as shields, then waves them around like trophies.

I've heard that, too, on a local talk radio station here in LA. The host was talking about the war in 2006. I think that's a perfect explanation as to why there is no "double standard." Israel doesn't exploit children, let alone dead ones. And the side using innocents and children as human shields has no credibility in claiming the higher moral ground.

But I suppose that's too nuanced for the anti-Israel side.

49  The people you see in these pictures are angry. They are angry because too many people have died.

The people you see on those pictures are always angry about something. Their soup was too hot, someone didn't smile at them on the street, their favorite tv show was cancelled, their roomates broke their bongs, whatever.  They're drama queens who are happiest when tv cameras show the world how angry they are.

Back in the 60's the L'il Abner comic strip parodied the college protesters with the acronym S.W.I.N.E - Students Wildly Indignant about Nearly Everything

51 They are angry because too many people have died

That's such a CAIR-ing thing to say. Millions have been killed in Africa and other places but you don't see professional protestors screaming on the streets and then running home to see if they got on tv.

As for anger over people who have died, I present Vincent the Hitman's philosophy on that...

Vincent: Max, six billion people on the planet, you're getting bent out of shape cause of one fat guy.
Max: Well, who was he?
Vincent: What do you care? Have you ever heard of Rwanda?
Max: Yes, I know Rwanda.
Vincent: Well, tens of thousands killed before sundown. Nobody's killed people that fast since Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Did you bat an eye, Max?
Max: What?
Vincent: Did you join Amnesty International, Oxfam, Save the Whales, Greenpeace, or something? No. I off one fat Angelino and you throw a hissy fit.
Max: Man, I don't know any Rwandans.
Vincent: You don't know the guy in the trunk, either.

53 Another Vincent gem

Max: He, he, he fell on the cab. He fell, he fell from up there on the motherfucking cab. Shit. I think he's dead.
Vincent: Good guess.
Max: You killed him?
Vincent: No, I shot him. Bullets and the fall killed him.

When that time arrives, the question will not be "What does Man need God for" that the academics ask, it'll be "What does God need Man for"

I see they teach their children the same respect for my flag the adults have (the kid holding the flag on a stick, with the flag on the ground).

I looked at the link, and one picture cracked me up.  It was the pciture of the cocker spaniel wearing the Israeli flag.  LOL!  Perhaps better would be to have dogs at these anti-Hamas/anti-Jihad rallies, and put Palestinean/Hamas/Hezb'allah flags on them.  While I don't think the dogs would mind, the whining and seething by the muslims seeing such a thing would be priceless -- a sight to behold.  And God forbid they attack a dog.  That would be the end of their 'cause' in the eyes of apathetic, but dog-loving, Americans.

Enjoy missing the bleeding obvious, don't you? Look at pic #2. I'll wait.

Good. See that blue sign in the middle of the shot? It has an "X" over the drawing of the Israeli flag. It says, in English, "Don't hate We will never accept the Israeli state"

Aside from the incongruous message of the dolt with the sign, what does that sign tell you? Can it be any fucking clearer? The "don't hate" bit is ass-covering tripe to appear reasonable for the camera, so we'll disregard that. The real message, among many which I won't elaborate further because your comment is too loaded with dunderheadedness if not disingenuity, is, paraphrased, "we refuse Israel's right to exist." Pretty peace loving right? "Pro freedom. Pro peace. Pro Justice." according to you. Laughable.

These protesters, a proportion of which are radicalized and possibly dangerous or paid actors, don't want peace. They want Israelis dead and their state to disappear. They'll even drag their kids around to use as propaganda pieces. And yet you as the useful idiot will pop up here and ignore that and spread the bullshit around like you're providing enlightenment.

Too bad you won't be back seeing as you have so little time on your hands to waste hating on the haters. Your humanity and perspective is just so divine.

All of these asswipes demonstrating for “Palestine” make me want to puke. They are in fact demonstrating in support of Hamas, a declared terrorist organization. As such they are in violation of federal law and should be arrested and deported back to Jordon. If they are “citizens” they should be stripped of citizenship.

Calling yourself a supporter of “Palestine” basically means that you support lies and myths created by the terrorists because there NEVER has been a nation called Palestine. When the terrorists talk about Palestine what they are actually talking about is Jordon.

I still say the solution for Gaza is to take bulldozers and level the entire strip, thus covering up the tunnels, and then mine the area. Israel should ban all reporters and U.N. terrorist sympathizers and get on with the program.

People like sara would be screaming bloody murder more than they are now if Israel indiscrimitately fire rockets into Gaza just as Hamas has into Israel.  They would be saying its unfair that Israel has defense warning systems that Gaza doesn't have.

And just to expand what Dead Career Sketch said.  I always said I would have a counter protest sign that showed those fuckers dancing in the street after 9-11 with the caption ' I'll support Hamas like they supported us'

79 I had to re-read the fourth picture in part V again because I thought it said, "Today we stand in defence of tyranny."

In the picture in part 1, it looks like someone stole a real estate sign.

And where's the mandatory truthers at?

80 I'm afraid they're going to grow up and be just like their parents

That is the part of their plan that is so hard for me to understand.

If the kids are used as targets and weapons, won't they eventually run out of people?

Posted by: Larry Sheldon at January 12, 2009 11:01 AM (OmeRL)

81 Yep, that's a stolen real estate sign, scaramouche.  The condos are within easy walking distance of the capitol.

There were a couple of truthers there, but they honestly looked like they didn't know where to stand.  They consider themselves patriots, but the anti-America sentiment was so strong on the pro-Hamas side, I don't think they were comfortable affiliating themselves with it, and the pro-Israel side wasn't welcoming them either, heh.

29:  For your information, this side was in no way pro-hamas. they were pro freedom. Pro peace. Pro Justice.

This is a LIE.  They were anti-American, anti-Freedom, anti-Israeli and anti-Jew. That's what they were.

I saw their faces contorted with hate and rage shouting their chants to disrupt and intimidate the Right of Self-Defense Pro Israel Rally.

The most memorable chant  I heard was, "Open The Ovens".  Nice.

They are as unabashed about what they'll do to the Jews and Americans as Hilter and the Nazis were about what they were going to do-and did.

They weren't there as pro anything. They were there to hate and intimidate, scream and rage and they bought their kids along to show them how and who to hate.  Nice.

The world is upside down. After seeing the protest photos, lots on Atlas Shrugged this past week and now these here, I am sick at what we're allowing to happen on US soil, how much the liberals are willing to support terrorists who want nothing more than to exterminate anyone who doesn't believe what they do.

I studied sociology in college and took a class called "Moral Consciousness and Social Action" where we studied the rise of totalitarian societies and how individuals in those societies reacted and either gave in to the new regime or fought for freedom and those that fought were most of the time imprisoned or exterminated..

We believed, in our naive 80s college student way, that we were a more enlightened world now, that the atrocities of Germany and the Soviet Union could not happen again because we knew better, we'd see it coming, we wouldn't allow it to happen.

Ha.

105 "The difference between children at the pro-Israel rally and at the pro-hate rally (since you don't want us to call it a pro-Hamas rally)" (originally posted by Alice H)

That isn’t what we wanted to be called. We never said this. We said that we were Pro-Palestine, NOT pro-Hamas. I think everyone wants Hamas to go away. Also, when you people keep saying “Extremist Muslim” you really don’t mean only them, you mean all of the Muslims in the World. Also, please answer this question, “Why did Tom Tancredo say that we will bomb Mecca if the Terrorist attacks don’t stop?” That is a question I want an answer to. One other thing is that we aren’t just putting these children here with the signs they have, we have them here to show you guys how many more can you kill. Tell me this, how come an Israeli Soldier went up to an innocent child and shot the child twice in the head which killed her, then turned around and shot her 14 or 15 times in the body and he says it was on Accident. Please tell me how that can be an accident you ignorant people.

Posted by: Islam 4 Life at January 12, 2009 08:39 PM (WVWMS)

106 Another thing is that when the person that said that we are teaching our children to say "Allahu Akbar". Do You even know what that means. When someone says "Takbir", we reply by saying "Allahu Akbar". And Allahu Akbar doesnt mean anything that would make us seem like Terrorist like you say. And someone said that we are Anti-American. I think if we were Anti-American, we wouldnt be living in America and even be holding American Flags you idiot. Wow, you guys are so foolish and stupid. And one of the best parts about combat (melee combat) is that it is by far the cheapest of all three combat methods.Ranging costs buy runescape gold because it requires the use of arrows. Magic costs even more because it requires lots and lots of runes. But melee combat is relatively cheap. The only and runescape money for sale you must spend is on your weapons and armor. Once you buy those things, you don’t have to keep buying more and more stuff to keep fighting. As you gain levels in Runescape, you will be able to buy better and better equipment.
