Dem Senators to Obama: Ix-nay on the Ax-tay Uts-kay

You do remember us and the whole "tax cuts" thing, right?

Sen John Kerry, D-Mass., said, "I'd rather spend the money on the infrastructure, on direct investment, on energy conversion, on other kinds of things that much more directly, much more rapidly and much more certainly create a real job. Something I personally have never done, myself, you know, but they are important to real Americans. I'm told."

Don't get too carried away with your marvelousness. They're just smiling faces.

First president (elect) in my lifetime that I can remember working on his legacy before he actually took the office.

1 Only John Kerry can be that dumb about economics and yet still get a voice in the news. Taking money from one guy, keeping some, then giving it to another guy does not build an economy up. It just shuffles money around - money we do not have to spend.

2 The idiocy on display in Washington, by these people, is staggering.

Posted by: Unclefacts at January 09, 2009 12:00 AM (M+Vfm)

3 John Kerry should stick to being the greatest military genius of our time - that should be enough for any one man, right?

4 Fuck "Rice Paddy Daddy" John...dude probably still makes himself out as a war hero because of his three Purple Hearts...

5 That quote made me puke in my mouth a little. Wow. These people are apparently the cream of the crop.

7 CT (1)-Don't forget that in the shuffling, D.C. gets to take its fair cut.

So we're missing the real motivation here.  Tax cuts could go to potentially anyone.  These stimulus project funds can be directed to loyal Democrat voters/contributors.
And recycled in four years.

"First president (elect) in my lifetime that I can remember working on his legacy before he actually took the office."

Why shouldn't he start working on his legacy before he takes office?  He's already involved in his mandatory Federal Investigation before he takes office.

If he gets all these pesky details taken care of before Jan 20, he can spend the next four years body surfing and working on his re-election campaign.  And grubbing for even more donations to his many, many websites.

All legacy, no legislation.

I smell triangulation brewing.

10 First president (elect) in my lifetime that I can remember working on his legacy before he actually took the office.

When has this dude ever not seen whatever position he happens to hold at the time as merely a stepping stone to the next thing?

WTF is he going to do now?

13 "If I'm a business person, it's unlikely if you give me a several-thousand-dollar credit that I'm going to hire people if I can't sell the products they're producing," said Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D

Unintentionally hilarious? "If I'm a business person?" Like any of these minikings have ever had to do an ounce of critical thinking in their lives. They wouldn't survive, running a business, for a year.

15 Obama is now going to find out that the President is an excutive position and does not make laws.  He is supposed to see the execution of the laws that congress makes.  Good luck with getting cooperation from a dem house and senate.  We will watch Obama herd cats, after a lifetime of accomplishing nothing.  I think if Teddy Kennedy were really active in the senate he would have a chance, but how many IOUs did he accummulate while in the senate?  Buellar?  Buellar?  Buellar?

16 I live in MA.   Home of the Big Fuckin Dig.  This 'Infrastructure program' that Odumbass wants to have passed will be 50 big fucking digs.  Anyone from here can tell you about the giant cluster fuck known as our big dig.  I fear for this country more than ever.  We won't have to wait for the Chi-Coms to ruin us.  We'll do it ourselves.  Oh and Deval Patrick (The dumbest Gov. alive) is ALREADY factoring in the funds from this infrastructure program for this years budget.  He alread made that mistake once with the casinos that don't exist.  Way to go you fucking turd!

17 I watched Boehner and McConnell on CSPAN last night. Responsibility. Accountability. Transparency. I feel so much better.

Posted by: Bugler at January 09, 2009 09:03 AM (YCVBL)

18 Nothing, but nothing was more scary than watching those senate hearings where they bellowed at the poor guy from Treasury who was trying to administer the famous 700 b bailout.  And the Bush 300b TARP fund  to buy toxic assests which they then abandoned and decided instead to give the banks cash.  What a circle jerk!  I've stopped paying as much attention because every time I do I come up against the hard truth that "we are in uncharted waters" and nobody seems to know what the fuck to do, least of all the government.  How can we spend our way out without massive inflation?  Indeed, without massive Stagflation?

Yes, that means that I'm looking for a swallower, not a spitter.
