| Progressive Sockpuppet Smear MachineThe New Age Of False Propaganda; Nutroots Edition This is a few days old but it just came across my tipline this morning. A racist sockpuppet attack was launched on TeamSarah, a pro-Palin site. Lefty cocksuckers (ding!) deliberately made racist comments on the site, then used those comments to 'frame' Palin supporters as racists on Huffington Post. Thanks to Kelly, we now have screen shots, ID’s, and IP’s of a number of individuals who have planned an effort, and attempted to implement it, to act as agent provocateurs and discredit Team Sarah by planting racist and other unsavory material as if they were members.Trying to defame an opponent by spreading false rumors is nothing new, of course. But the internet has breathed new life into its effectiveness as a political weapon. Yay. At the link you'll find comments left on another site by the conspirators. I cherrypicked this one: It’s our duty to steer the site away from reason and into the realms of racism and insanity just in time for the 2012 primaries, and then to ensure Palin is the Republican nominee. It's an admission that they don't believe their agenda can prevail unless they abase and dishonor themselves. And who here doubts that the MSM will give them an assist? I'll go waaay out on a limb and say they'll continue to ignore their professional standards, and be shockingly incurious about legitimate claims of sabotage. Thanks to TC. Comments1
It's an admission that they don't believe their agenda can prevail unless they abase and dishonor themselves.
Sarah Palin is a threat. Sarah Palin must be destroyed. At all costs. I hope nobody is surprised by this. Meanwhile, Republicans wet their pants when Ann Coulter says mean things. We need to rethink our political strategy. Posted by: OregonMuse at January 08, 2009 10:56 AM (FO+YO) 2
This is why I laugh at you pussies who think we need to be more like the Left (i.e., gain a broader appeal by becoming more moderate) in order to win. The Left isn't winning; they're cheating and lying. The idea that the Left/Democrats represent "mainstream" is a complete sham; a joint fabrication created by Leftist activists and their operatives in Big Media. We don't need to become more like them. If we do, then their ideology will become mainstream. The way to win is to stick to our principles because our principle our good and right. We're better than them. Never forget that. We need to start a repository somewhere for screen caps of every one of these incidents, with context and any information available about who's posting them. It's great that all this info is being collected, but having it here, there, and everywhere is not as useful as having it all in one place.

By the way, expect more of this. I joked that the Daily Show will show "Republicans" celebrating Obama's inauguration by showing Klansmen burning a cross. Don't be surprised if such an act is staged by the Left to frame the GOP. They want stop until we're gone. Remember that. And don't be pussies. Remember that, too. I comment on HuffPo a lot, mainly because I'm weird, and it amuses me. But I set the facts straight when I catch them in lies or hypocrisies, and a few times I even got their columnists to back down from what they wrote.
95% of their commenters are stupid and gullible, and it's child's play to best them when you have the facts on your side. I'm always honest about my political affiliation. I don't know if it helps any, but at least I and a few other regulars there help to keep them on their toes. Posted by: stace at January 08, 2009 11:50 AM (JO0c/) 21

This is why I laugh at you pussies who think we need to be more like the Left (i.e., gain a broader appeal by becoming more moderate) in order to win. Newsflash: we will become more like the left. And not in a good way. Be very careful who you choose for an enemy, because you will become like him--and he will become like you. Germans copied Russian tank design philosophy; Russians learned operational deftness; American naval commanders in the SW Pacific learned the use of the torpedo from getting the living crap kicked out of them by the IJN; the Japanese learned that banzai charges and Yamato daimashii didn't work against modern firepower. ("Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster by your side.") American strategic nuclear doctrine underwent a 30-year metamorphosis from "massive retaliation" to "protracted warfighting" solely because the latter was the Soviet doctrine--and at the same time Soviet theater warfighting doctrine moved from massive use of nuclear weapons to a mirror___ of NATO's "flexible response" doctrine. The one strategic asset the left brings to the fight is sheer, raw, completely unhinged hatred. And we will inevitably become more like them. And when we mirror___ the left's hatred, everyone in America--left, right, centrist, apolitical--should be very, very afraid. I'm one of those "pussies" who has enough historical literacy to understand what happens after that. (Hint: think Yugoslavia, without any sort of well-defined and defensible geographic cores for the two sides to retreat to. Lotsa luck, morons.) Posted by: Dirk at January 08, 2009 11:07 AM (EiJuR) --------------------------------------------------------- I used to be a member of the forums and stopped going there a year ago. Since about 2004-05 it started going downhill fast. It was taken over by crybaby emo kids who live with their parents. No surprise it became a liberal nutroots haven. It's so bad that they think they are the center of the grassroots movement that got Obama elected. What's funny is that Lowtax is a Republican and voted for Bush both times. Yet the rest of the people who run SA are a bunch of whiny, nerdy, and ignorant liberals. I think a couple of the other admins who handle day to day business running of the site has his nuts in a vice for something. Most of the nutroots leftism is due to the rampant groupthink that goes on the forums. The mods will pretty much ban you if you aren't a liberal nowdays. Do we really need to pull out "vast left-wing conspiracy" every time a website is trolled?
Really? Sure DU is full of human garbage, but the goons were, as far as I can tell, just trolling to get a rise out of people (and they did). Can't we for once just quietly moderate our sites and not have a circlejerk about how much better we are? Team Sarah should have just shut down commenting for a while and waited for things to blow over. Or, better yet, identify the people writing the racist comments and send screenshots to their employers. (Now THAT would have been hilarious) Posted by: khavvah at January 08, 2009 12:32 PM (CC7js) 29
#25, Cobalt, right now the Left is beating us while we cover up and whine. Defensive action is getting us nowhere. Offensive action is what's needed, and you know what? If we turn this country into Yugoslavia, so be it. We had a pretty good run, now maybe it's time to let the lefties go their own way and we go ours.

He/It is certainly hateful enough, I just didn't think it was that ambitious. If we turn this country into Yugoslavia, so be it. We had a pretty good run, now maybe it's time to let the lefties go their own way and we go ours. Remember what I said about neither side having a defensible geographic core to retreat to? Also, consider this: the Former Republic of Yugoslavia is what it is today because a whole bunch of Auslander showed up, smacked some knuckleheads around, and set up what could be called "puppet governments" by the uncharitable. So who'd end up partitioning and running the Former Republic of the United States? And do you really think you'd have your conservative paradise in such a scenario? So, you think that's a bad thing? I have zero interest in sharing a country with these people. I hope the parting can be peaceful. But at the end of the day, the parting is more important to me. So, you think that's a bad thing? Generally, large-scale civil war, large numbers of people killed, famines, epidemics caused by breakdown of sanitation systems, national dismemberment, loss of sovereignty to foreign peacekeepers, with your new government most likely being a wholly-owned subsidiary of the People's Republic of China, et cetera . . . yeah, those are bad things. Posted by: Cobalt Shiva at January 08, 2009 12:59 PM (OxylG) 35
Remember what I said about neither side having a defensible geographic core to retreat to? Not true. The left has the north-east and California. We have the south and west. So who'd end up partitioning and running the Former Republic of the United States? Different people in the different new countries. do you really think you'd have your conservative paradise in such a scenario? Conservatives don't believe in an earthly paradise. But yes, we would have a conservative country and the lefties would have have what they think is a socialist utopia. History says that many of them would soon feel an urgent need to try to cross our border.

34 Why so fixated on Yugoslavia? Why not Checkoslovakia? I don't think your worse case scenario has to come to pass, rather than peaceful separation. Americans lack what it takes to have that sort of fight. But I'll take it, if that's what it takes. The Founders did.

I know, I'm hoping for a short conflict that would be resolved before the UN gets off its bureaucratic inertia or risk aversion and tries sending in negotiators or peacekeepers. WonderWartHog - thanks for checking. I'm glad I didn't jump off the deep end too. Apparently I must have said something that rattled them and they couldn't refute rationally.
I worked with a guy a couple of years ago who loved to masquerade as other posters and had quite the unhinged attitude. We found him amusing in how deranged and entertaining he was. He was a decent network engineer, but dang, the stories of all the eastern European hackers and U.S. government agents trailing him nonstop were too much to handle at times. Tin foil would be just a start in his protective routine. The association ended when he attacked a former jewish landlord, spraypainting their garage, Mercedes and fence with antisemetic hatred, and dumped brake fluid all over the Mercedes to damage the paint. He bragged about it the next morning in general and said the "jews deserved it because they wouldn't refund his security deposit." Of course, he laughed at how he trashed the apartment too... as if there was no connection. He got probation for the event which got put in our local paper that afternoon. Since there, it's been meth, divorces and living with mom at age 40. These people are not well. Anyone that can't face up and advocate their position on fact is useless and deserves to go cower in the corner. As I'm certain they know their arguments aren't believable and never impact people of reason, I've been increasingly convinced the sockpuppetry is little more than a psychological front to permit them to spew the hatred they genuinely believe. They are haters. They are fascists. They want dead Jews. They despise anyone successful. Fundamentally, they are the terminal condition of progressive ideology. Once you can no longer sustain self-deception and the myth of the Liberal Experience Machine, the framework collapses and they're left realizing they have a useless, destroyed life based on fraud. One cannot be happy when this discovery is made, and radical lashing out is all that's left. Nozick's Experience Machine provides a great explanation of what the Progressive State advocates. As an imperfect machine, it is built on the Ponzi scheme of income redistribution to permit those within the Machine to believe the progressive myth actually creates happiness. It's almost comperable to Barndt's Happiness Machine which gives happiness by dumping dross on minorities and other unprivileged people. Instead of dross, Progressivism sucks life out of those who do not opt-in to their machine through redistribution. As it runs out of life to suck, it radicalizes and goes after those it sucks from, accusing them of holding back the life they seek to consume. Gas chambers, mass execution pits and other lovely products of terminal Progressivism are the ultimate outcome. So... can you expect them to be happy people? I'd have to believe even I would want to hide my identity when I discovered I had a wasted life in a false machine. Posted by: HatlessHessian at January 08, 2009 01:17 PM (3/V8w) 39
Not true. The left has the north-east and California. We have the south and west. That breaks down when you get below the state level. The networks show the states as red or blue. Actually, there are big (and small) chunks of red and blue that are intertwined to varying degrees. Add in the fact that no one area actually produces everything it needs to survive as a modern society, and you have a recipe for unending wars until the PRC shows up to smack the feuding abbos around. For example, a nation based on California would insist on some sort of control of regions at least as far away as Utah (they don't like the notion of sworn enemies having the ability to cut off their electricity at will). The South would probably insist on controlling most-to-all of the Ohio Valley (they don't want sworn enemies controlling their water supply). And the upper Midwest would view ANY hostile control of the Mississippi Valley as unacceptable (the Father of Waters is their transportation artery for grain and other agricultural products. Meanwhile, the red/blue split in the Pacific Northwest would be utterly fascinating (the blue-staters live in the port cities, the red-states happen to control the Columbia River Valley hydropower dams and reservoirs--neither can survive very long without the other, but if they're sworn enemies, all bets are off). And as for "defensible," you have to include the nuclear question. Yes, we have nukes. And there would be a custody battle over them. Posted by: Cobalt Shiva at January 08, 2009 01:17 PM (OxylG) 40
Why so fixated on Yugoslavia? Why not Checkoslovakia? Because the Czechs and the Slovaks didn't hate each other as passionately as I figure liberals and conservatives will come to hate each other in the coming decade. It also helped that both sides were literally just too flat broke to fight a war--and as bad as the economy is, we still are the richest country on the planet and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. I know, I'm hoping for a short conflict that would be resolved before the UN gets off its bureaucratic inertia or risk aversion and tries sending in negotiators or peacekeepers. That's what the Union and Confederate forces were hoping for during the run-up to Fort Sumter. Didn't work out that way, and I don't think it's the way to bet for round two, either. The Chinese and Russians have forces large enough to worry me, but they aren't trans-Pacific deployable on short notice either. Like I said, they wouldn't need short notice--we'd provide the lengthy, bloody war. Because the Czechs and the Slovaks didn't hate each other as passionately as I figure liberals and conservatives will come to hate each other in the coming decade. If we hate each other as much as you say, and I think you're right, then it's insane for us to be sharing a country. And sooner or later, we won't be. So now is the time to start thinking of peaceful ways out of this mess, if you're really worried about that Yugoslavia business. Those who make peaceful change impossible make violent change inevitable. That's what the Union and Confederate forces were hoping for during the run-up to Fort Sumter. For better or for worse the American people today lack the moral steel to have such a fight. That's why I don't think your nightmare scenario will play out. We're not going to split this country again, we tried that and the Yankees kicked our ass. This time we do have a few advantages that we didn't have a hundred some years ago. First, most all the military bases are in the South and West, and most of the military members are Southern or Westerners. Second, our industrial base is bigger now. We build shit, it is not 90% agricultural like 100 years ago. Third, we have a population parity that we did not have in 1860. All in all, we'd have a better chance this time, but it won't happen. We need to remember, though, WE ARE AT WAR. Those dickheads know that, we are the ones that are lovey dovey. That is why they kicked our ass. They out worked us. We need a financial base, our own ACORN, to build back the party, and not McRhino's party, OUR party. Just a thought, our problem is most of us have real lives, unlike the nutroots who have no life, so it is hard to piss away hours everyday trying to save your country. It shouldn't be, when we realilze that and get serious, we'll win elections. Kemp

Flenser, very good point. An intact, unified United States is about the only worldwide bulwark against the Islamics, and I don't think we have that anymore. If we split, perhaps the conservative portion of whatever's left (Confederate States of America?) could pick up that role, and unencumbered by our domestic lefties could prosecute the war far more efficiently.
Cobalt, if Beauregard could have gotten off his ass and stopped squabbling with his subordinate commanders, he could have been in Washington the next day and perhaps forced a peaceful settlement to the whole thing. Posted by: SGT Dan at January 08, 2009 02:38 PM (jUeGo) 49
Cobalt, if Beauregard could have gotten off his ass and stopped squabbling with his subordinate commanders, he could have been in Washington the next day and perhaps forced a peaceful settlement to the whole thing. 1. Once they started lobbing rounds at Fort Sumter, a peaceful settlement was off the table. 2. Just figuring out which parts of the border states were going to be in which nation would've gone a long ways toward starting Round Two. For better or for worse the American people today lack the moral steel to have such a fight. That's why I don't think your nightmare scenario will play out. You do realize that you are making exactly the same mistake of underestimating the American people's staying power that Jefferson Davis, Kaiser Billy, Adolph, Tojo, nearly five decades worth of increasingly grumpy and increasingly old men in the Kremlin, and the constellation of various and sundry Iraqi lunatics have all made, right? When you tell someone that he's going to have to abandon everything he's known and uproot himself to some place that he doesn't want to live (if he wanted to live there, he would have done so already) because he's now a red guy in a blue country--or vice versa--he'll fight. I don't give a flying fuck what kind of "pussy" you think he is. He will fight. And the only way to make him stop fighting is to kill him. Now, if that's just a few spots here and there . . . well, that's one thing. When it's all across the fruited plain, from sea to shining sea, in a nation of 300,000,000 or so people . . . that's something else. Something like that becomes self-sustaining until the rest of the world decides to straighten out the North American aboriginals--oh, yeah, and carve themselves some new empires in the process. Posted by: Cobalt Shiva at January 08, 2009 03:17 PM (OxylG) 51
All in all, we'd have a better chance this time, but it won't happen. Then our only other option is surrender and acceptance of the socialist agenda. We need to remember, though, WE ARE AT WAR. Those dickheads know that, we are the ones that are lovey dovey. That is why they kicked our ass. They out worked us.
I have to disagree. They won because they possess overwhelming structural advantages, including control of the media, the entertainment industry, and the schools. They also have the financial backing of the richest people in America. To counter this we would need to adapt their own tactics and seize control of these key institutions or develop parallel ones of our own. And doing THAT gets us right back to the fact that there is an unbridgable gap between us and them. Even if we win elections they don't accept the result. We cannot coexist in the same polity. Either we abandon our beliefs, they abandon theirs, or we go our separate ways. I don't see a fourth option.
Posted by: flenser at January 08, 2009 03:23 PM (/2oBi) 52
You do realize that you are making exactly the same mistake of underestimating the American people's staying power etc You're thinking of a different American people. What about the American people who thought that our trivial losses in Iraq were Stalingrad-style carnage? If we had the American people you posit then we would not need to be having this discussion in the first place. Those people don't exist in significant numbers any more. That's why everyone yawned as the state nationalized huge swaths of industry.
When you tell someone that he's going to have to abandon everything he's known They will do it on their own accord. The ones who don't are casting their vote by their actions. There will be a socialist regime in the socialist country. Those who oppose it will leave. There will be a conservative regime in the conservative country. Those who don't like it will leave. They will be helped along by subtle incentives and coercion. Or, knowing socialist regimes, by not-so-subtle coercion. This all happened in the aftermath of the American Revolution. About a third of the colonists were Loyalists, and many were "encouraged" to leave for Canada.
Posted by: flenser at January 08, 2009 03:34 PM (/2oBi) 53
You're thinking of a different American people. What about the American people who thought that our trivial losses in Iraq were Stalingrad-style carnage? Views about foreign wars that do not touch one directly are one thing. Being told "pack your shit and leave all that you know RIGHT NOW" is another thing, particularly when your community is an off-color enclave--i.e., you have friends. About a third of the colonists were Loyalists, and many were "encouraged" to leave for Canada. Great. You're proposing what usually gets called "Ethnic cleansing" done along political lines, all across America, with large amounts of refugee traffic in both directions. And you think that nobody will have the ability or the will to do something to make things an even bigger mess. You do remember the fact that we have a rather large nuclear arsenal, right? I suppose you believe that only your side will have access to it or something. And in the post-Revolution period, there wasn't CNN, Fox News, and Teh Interwebs to let people know what was happening. Nowadays, there is. That dynamic will change how willing people are to resist--most likely making resistance more likely and more prolonged. (One PsyOps guy I've talked to estimated that electronic media lengthened the Balkans Brawl by almost 3 years and made the second round in Kosovo inevitable.) You're proposing what usually gets called "Ethnic cleansing" Now you're being an idiot. These divisions don't break down on ethnic lines, and nor did those at the time of the Revolution. I suppose you believe that only your side will have access to it or something. Nice of you to come out for the liberal side. But as should be clear to you if you bothered to read, I'm not the one calling for this bloody all-out war. That seems to be your fixation. And in the post-Revolution period, there wasn't CNN, Fox News, and Teh Interwebs to let people know what was happening. Which is part of why I'm saying that your favorite nightmare scenario would not come to pass. You still have not responded to my basic point. You're not going to submit to us. And I don't see why we should submit to you. Apart from peaceful separation, what other option do you suggest? I'd like to hear about it.

Cobalt, I sense the handwriting of a fellow professional, maybe one with a better staff education than I've got...
I'm kidding myself if I know which way it will all go. Most of us are. Something tells me there's a deep hole we haven't stepped in yet. Posted by: SGT Dan at January 08, 2009 04:07 PM (jUeGo) 56
Being told "pack your shit and leave all that you know RIGHT NOW" If you want to have this discussion, then stick to responding to what I'm actually saying. Stop making shit up and trying to put it in my mouth. (Why do libs insist on arguing this way?) Posted by: flenser at January 08, 2009 04:09 PM (/2oBi) 57
Something tells me there's a deep hole we haven't stepped in yet. We're already in that hole. We're arguing about how best to climb out of it.

Nice of you to come out for the liberal side. But as should be clear to you if you bothered to read, I'm not the one calling for this bloody all-out war. That seems to be your fixation. Sorry, but I am a conservative who merely understands that a civil war is EXACTLY what our enemies around the world wish for us. You're the one cheering the idea on. In that sense, you're not on my side. You still have not responded to my basic point. You're not going to submit to us. And I don't see why we should submit to you. Apart from peaceful separation, what other option do you suggest? I'd like to hear about it. Remember what I originally said? How we become like our enemies? It works in both directions. The question is how fast the two sides change. We have to fight effectively, but without developing the liberals' the berserk hatred. Unfortunately, I don't see my fellow conservatives skipping the development of berserk hatred part right now. But if we don't, I believe that my scenario is actually a fairly mild and optimistic version of what will come to pass. (We may just go straight to the "trading hot punches" phase and start slinging nukes at each other, turning the North American landmass into something resembling a Little Orphan Annie night-light when seen from a satellite in geosynchronous orbit.) Unless we can move public discourse back to a minimal standard of civility, there's going to be a crackup, and it will be a violent one. Ultimately . . . From whence shall we expect the approach of danger? Shall some transatlantic giant step the earth and crush us at a blow? Never. All the armies of Europe and Asia could not by force take a drink from the Ohio River, or make a track on Blue Ridge in the trial of a thousand years. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of free men, we shall live forever, or die by suicide. -- Abraham Lincoln, 1837 Posted by: Cobalt Shiva at January 08, 2009 04:25 PM (OxylG) 59
If you want to have this discussion, then stick to responding to what I'm actually saying. Stop making shit up and trying to put it in my mouth. (Why do libs insist on arguing this way?) Actually, libs are the ones most uncomfortable with following their ideas to their logical conclusion. When you talk of "encouraging" people of the wrong political stripe to leave, that's what it will boil down to--a bunch of guys with guns telling a bunch of newly-minted Auslander to get lost. Posted by: Cobalt Shiva at January 08, 2009 04:28 PM (OxylG) 60
I am a conservative who merely understands that a civil war is EXACTLY what our enemies around the world wish for us. You're the one cheering the idea on. No, fuckwit, I'm not "cheering on" the idea of civil war. I'm trying to avoid one. If you possessed a small faction of the intelligence you think you have then that would be blindingly obvious to you. And I'm losing patience rapidly with your repeating what you must now know to be a lie. My own question again. Apart from peaceful separation, what other option do you suggest? I'd like to hear about it. I notice you did not manage to respond so far, so I'm giving you another crack at it. We have to fight effectively, but without developing the liberals' the berserk hatred. That says nothing. Fight effectively how? And how do you "win" against people animated by berserk hatred? I suppose that information would be useful in dealing with a lot of groups around the world. You might want to let Israel in on the secret too. a bunch of guys with guns telling a bunch of newly-minted Auslander to get lost. You can measure the quality of any discussion with a liberal by how long it takes him to call you a Nazi. You score no higher than a 3. Posted by: flenser at January 08, 2009 04:48 PM (/2oBi) 61
Guys. There isn't going to be a civil war. Jesus Christ, people. I know we get frustrated sometimes. But the hardcore lefties/ malcontents who dio this kind of shit are a fairly small portion of the population. Most people in this country don't pay attention to politics and are not animated by any particular ideology. These are the people we refer to as "happy." If you possessed a small faction of the intelligence you think you have then that would be blindingly obvious to you. And I'm losing patience rapidly with your repeating what you must now know to be a lie. Then I would suggest that you quit suggesting that such an event would be no big deal and/or a brief, gloriously victorious war. That says nothing. Fight effectively how? I'd try focusing on some a few key ideas that have wider downstream interactions (such as: quit spending so much money & quit expecting the government to do so damn much), and I'd avoid talking to the American voter as if he's a complete numbskull who is unable to understand an idea that takes longer to express than ten seconds. Doing those two things explains how a stone-fucking-batshit-crazy fruitcake like Perot managed to briefly led Bush and Clinton before his grand wig-out--and still draw 19% afterwards. Had he taken the election at least as seriously as he took running EDS when it was his company, he'd probably be remembered as an eccentric-but-effective President who didn't boink the interns. Like I said . . . be careful who you have as an enemy, because you will become like him. Most people in this country don't pay attention to politics and are not animated by any particular ideology. These are the people we refer to as "happy." Yup. They were also the vast majority of folks living in the colonies, or living in the Confederacy or the Union. Problem is, many of them got dragged along for the ride, and wound up fighting for one reason or another. Posted by: Cobalt Shiva at January 08, 2009 06:37 PM (OxylG) 64

Calm down, Cobalt. We're not anywhere NEAR another Civil War in this nation. Just like the first war, we would need a significant economic conflict between regions--cultural differences alone aren't enough to ignite this kind of thing. Cultural differences are sometimes the origin of economic incompatibility and they can often be proxies for the real economic causes. But they aren't enough to get the shooting started. But let's say the differences start to grow and fester. What is criticizing people here for being too strident going to do? If there's enough resentment and anger nationwide to start a civil war, telling people here not to be so dedicated to economic liberty isn't going to stop anything from happening. Great, this turned into a piss fight while I was gone.
Laura, you hit the nail on the head with the "happy" part. Before I got seriously involved in national-level politics and realizing how many people in our own nation are trying to fuck us, I was a hell of a lot happier. Unfortunately I grew up in a politically informed and motivated household with two schoolteachers for parents and I lost the "ignorance is bliss thing" by fifth grade. I am a seriously angry and unhappy person, which is a bad thing when you have my professional education. Posted by: SGT Dan at January 08, 2009 07:31 PM (1UCCk) 68
Nah, I won't tell you to not to be so dedicated to economic liberty. I'll just tell you to learn how to fucking read instead. Actually Franklin said words to the effect of: Those who would give up essential Liberty to purchase a little temporary Security deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
He was right. If it plays out as a conflict I say take every square piece of ground we can, no quarter asked, none given. That is surely the marching orders of the Angry Left and I reciprocate in full. I keep my pilot light low for now but will flare up when, and as, needed. They started this social turmoil to advance their agenda and someone must start turning this ship around before it runs fully aground. We're already shoaling low waters and it's getting harder to see waters deep enough to avoid the inevitable going aground/civil conflict. Again, I don't advocate anything, but for myself, I will not go quietly into the padded van, converted bread truck, the railroad car nor the rehabilitation facility where the smoke stacks have a familiar and sickly sweet aroma. The Jewish people have said "Never again." I say "Never. Period. Full stop. 'Molon Labe': come and try to take my head, if you're of a mind to, but know it will cost you yours in the process and you probably won't succeed." Belligerent as ever, I am Enter sandman. If anyone's curious, I personally hope and pray the Left can be made to rethink its essential 'values', if one can call them that, but that seems less likely by the day as the on-coming Age of Obama ushers in the Left's chance to radically reshape what the Founders gave us. I think it is crucial to note that those in power on the Left, and their True Believers, simply find it impossible to believe that the rest of us don't agree with the way they operate. Anything seems fair in the game as long as the final score reflects a victory for their side. They have felt they were destined for rule, gathered together by whatever higher power they bend knee before to make of America the Socialist Utopia that other Socialist countries should have been, but our American Socialists are smarter, so they'll succeed where all the others, all of them, failed...
Mark my words here, if the public accepts even a small part of the coming leftward tilt, it'll be seen as a sign of acquiescence and weakness and the hand brake will be kicked off and it's full steam ahead for a Super European Socialist State, made possible by the Bush Administration that never had the same level of clarity on social/ economic policies that it had on the GWOT. Bush could protect us from attackers but not from his own staff, i.e. Emperor Palpatine Paulson and the Bailout Ponzi scheme that is making vast Nationalization of our institutions and Industries possible. Take over the means of production and you take over the physical heart of a nation and its people. I won't even get into purposeful balkanization of the country, non-English speaking status as a net-positive and the rampant spate of nancy-boy me-too victim status that the Left uses as a prybar to force us apart then back together in hellish coalitions that are like grouped cancer cells within the American Body. I think this patient needs serious help now or a by-pass and increasing infirmity will surely be the result. Just my two cents, for what it's worth. sandman. Then I would suggest that you quit suggesting that such an event would be no big deal and/or a brief, gloriously victorious war. Priceless. I've argued with moonbats with greater reading comprehension. Let me respond in kind. I suggest you quit suggesting that we drown the nations puppies in vats of toxic waste. What kind of monster are you? How can you say such things?

Sandman, you and me both.
The problem with "not talking to the nation's voters like they're idiots" is most of them are. The media won't let us get a message out, and unless we find a way to put subliminal messages into American Idol, we're not going to get anyone's attention. No one wants to be told that the government won't save their ass. No one wants to be told their problems might just be their own goddamned fault. No one wants to hear that no one gives a fuck about their self esteem, that their lefty elementary school teacher lied to them and they aren't special. No one wants to hear that no one gives a fuck about their self esteem, that their lefty elementary school teacher lied to them and they aren't special. So don't tell them that. There are ways to articulate the Conservative message that are positive and will appeal to everyone. We need someone who can do that. Posted by: The Band at January 08, 2009 09:40 PM (QtRBc) 77
Exactly right, and when you or anyone say something that contradicts their limited catalog of acceptable ideas/wants as needs, really, they go ape shit. You are made to be the bad guy because you spoke the truth and someone's shiny gold self esteem took a dent or two. As if you self esteem mattered less than the Libtard-maggots did. What a flaming crock of shit. I never even heard the phrase until I joined the Army in my 20's and then I was doing a thousand push ups a day in Basic training and I thought anyone worried about their self esteem and 'mental hygiene was full of shit. I guess there is some nerit to being concerned about mental health but life isn't one gigantic ass group hug nor should it be.
OT but have you ever noticed one thing about people living in the 3rd world, just eaking out a bare living? They are better adjusted and basically happier than Americans and Eurotrash are. Why? Because their lives are lived just getting by and they don't have the time to piss away worrying if mommy loved them when they shit the bed as a pre-teen or if this grass skirt makes my floppy uncovered tits look more floppy than usual. Does this bark cover make my ass look fat? You never hear shit like that, never. Go ahead and watch some NatGeo, you'll never hear questions of self esteem from some African kid about to be scarified for life to be accepted by his tribe. Sad, some might say, but there may be something sublime to living everyday not grinding your damn teeth flat worrying over vacuous bullshit that matters not in the least. Not in the West: we seeem to like pointless worry, dithering around. That's where I come from on this whole thing. Sandman. Posted by: Enter sandman at January 08, 2009 09:46 PM (zxaA2) 78

The problem with "not talking to the nation's voters like they're idiots" is most of them are. Like I said, Perot didn't treat them like idiots. If he'd been on his meds more regularly, nobody would've ever heard of Monica Lewinsky. The key is to focus on the core message, get it out early and often, let it sink in, and let the voter work out the second- and third-order consequences for himself. That's how you get people to change their minds in the long run. Posted by: Cobalt Shiva at January 09, 2009 12:16 AM (lIIVZ) 81
Referring to the original post: every time I hear about this kind of thing happening online, I picture that scene in American History X where the skinheads trash a Korean-owned convenience store. With this and the arson of Palin's church, I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing more political violence in America this year.
Why is it that the far-left starts doing this shit AFTER Obama won? Is it revenge for daring to challenge the One or is it just a display of power? Posted by: Anon at January 09, 2009 10:47 AM (auJZJ) 82
Also, I post on the Something Awful forums and I'm really just disgusted that this is being tolerated by the administrators. Back when Lowtax was still admin, people calling for forum invasion were banned on sight unless the forum was something reprehensible like Stormfront or NAMBLA or if the site regularly stole SA content, and even then the mods had to OK it first. Now invasion is practically condoned if the forum is perceived as a threat to the Obama cult that's cropped up on there.
Right before the election, about a fourth of the SA members I saw had avatars either supporting Obama or bashing McCain or Palin, and I don't even venture into the political subforums. I really don't want to turn into the conservative equivalent of those idiots who were marching around with papier-mache Bush effigies and screaming at people in suits during the last few conventions, but Obama's supporters are making it awfully tempting even though I don't hate or even strongly dislike him as a person.
