Surprise: ANSWER Refuses to Condemn Anti-Semitism at Their Rallies

Go figure.

The protest organizers, asked to comment on the woman's overt call for Jewish extermination, said she was "insensitive" but refused to condemn her statement.

"She does not represent the opinions of the vast majority of people who were there," said Emmanuel Lopez, who helped plan the event, one of many sponsored nationwide on Dec. 30 by the ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism ) Coalition.

Lopez, a state coordinator for ANSWER, admitted there is a problem with anti-Semitism within his organization's ranks. But then he went on to call the supporters of Israel across the street "barbaric, racist" Zionist terrorists.

"Zionism in general is a barbaric, racist movement that really is the cause of the situation in the entire Middle East," Lopez said.

The unidentified woman, who protest organizers said was a Muslim, wasn't the only protester who raised hackles that day. Other demonstrators held signs that said "Nuke Israel," and a number made comparisons to the Holocaust, accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza.

Antisemitism at ANSWER rallies? Wonder what gave him that idea? Sample of chant at the "Global Day of Action" rally in March of 2006:

"Long live Palestine!
Long live the Intifada!
Long live the Intifada!
Intifada Intifada!
Intifada Intifada!
Free free Palestine!
Free free Palestine!
Long live Palestine!
Long live Palestine!
Long live the Intifada!
Long live the Intifada!
Intifada Intifada!
Intifada Intifada!"

But I guess those people only represent a small part of those who attend ANSWER rallies.

It's nice to see Lopez admit the bleedin' obvious regarding his group and antisemitism. Would be even better, though, if he managed to actually gin up some outrage over it.

2 Ace,
I have a friend who was involved, in the very early stages,  in organizing anti-war protests on the local level in SF. He has a great article written about how the larger socialist/communist organizations came and took over the local movements and became something entirely different than what the original organizers intended.

It is a great article on how the "Peace" movement is nothing but a front for some very large and well financed anti-American organizations, written by a far left peace activist.

Let me know if you are interested, I will forward it to you.

From what else he said, his view of the "problem" seems to be that it isn't spreading fast enough.

20 From the ADL:

ANSWER has played a key role in bringing Arab and Muslim groups into the anti-war and anti-racism movements, which has led to extreme invective against Israel during protests and expressions of support for Palestinian terrorists. Among the groups that have endorsed ANSWER events and participated in rallies are Al-Awda and the Islamic Association for Palestine.

I live in the Bay Area. ANSWER has infested the left here to the point that their "mass" actions have dwindled down to 100-200 people at most. At the beginning of the war, and even later, 10,000 or more would stagger around shouting or "chanting" at these things.

The old time lefties I talk to here have nothing but contempt for ANSWER. The entire organization is a front for the Workers World Party, unrepentent Stalinst frozen in the 1950s. They are also behind several other groups, including World Can't Wait and the International Action Center.

By the way, the International Action Center is famous here for several protests over something or the other back in the1990s. IAC goons would lead marchers down the street, incite them to violence, and then melt away to let the dupes get arrested. Finally someone exposed them and people stopped coming to their marches.

If you're interested in the ANSWER tentacles, do some research. It's amazing how many front groups there are and who backs them. It looks like an Obama donor list.

25 If you think about it, support for Hamas is support for another Holocaust.
Hamas does not believe Israel has a right to exist. Israel will not voluntarily dissolve itself. If you support Hamas you support their goal of utterly destroying Israel and wiping out the Jews.
If Hamas and the other Pali terrorist groups threw away their weapons there would be peace tomorrow.
If Israel disarmed they would be wiped out.
This is as simple as I can make it for leftwing imbeciles.
ANSWER = Nazis. hate to make that argument but if the shoe fits...

Ladies and gentlemen, if you ever had any doubts about the dangers of in-breeding, frequent drinking and/or heavy drug use, I point you to ANSWER.

"then he went on to call the supporters of Israel across the street "barbaric, racist" Zionist terrorists"

Yeah, cause Israel is known for suicide bombings and rocket attacks on innocent civilians-- no wait, that's Hamas and other terrorists Israel fights back against.

""Zionism in general is a barbaric, racist movement that really is the cause of the situation in the entire Middle East," Lopez said."

Funny, I could've sworn it was psycho Arabs dedicated to the destruction of Israel and the Jewish folk in general that was the cause of all of the problems in the Middle East. Oh, but there I go again relying on those pesky little details called "facts."

"Other demonstrators held signs that said "Nuke Israel,""

Gee, who knew members of AQ were there?

"and a number made comparisons to the Holocaust, accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza."

"It was not just an academic exercise . . . not just a protest," Lopez told FOXNews.com. "It's a material force."

Material force is new to me but evidently not to Neo-Confucionism. I Googled "material force" and got this:

"However, principle is not a seperate entity. It exists right in material-force. Without material-force, principle would have nothing to adhere to. Material-force consists of the Five Phases of Metal, Wood, Fire ,Water and Earth, while priciple includes humaneness, rightness, ritual decorum, and wisdom."

Maybe a small insight into the Earth Firsters, Gaia Worshippers, etc.

Spiritually corrupt, they are.
