Information Bleg: My Christmas War With KFMB-AM

Not to get too "2008 Retro" on you all, but would anyone happen to have a screencap of the "Congressional Motors" blog entry on Rick Roberts' blog on the KFMB-AM in San Diego website from early in the day on Christmas Eve? It'll have to be from before mid afternoon (central time) when they flushed the whole thing down the ol' memory hole. I'd love to find copies of it from before and after the attribution to Iowahawk was added to the original entry. Any screencap that also includes the 900+ comments would be peachy.

Why didn't I get a screencap myself? Uhm, yeah. Hello McFly! MORON BLOGGER, remember? People, what makes you think that I know how these blog thingies work anyhow? Have you ever seen me embed a YouTube video here? Think there's a reason why it's never happened? Better than a screen cap is saving the whole file in .mht format. The only browser I know of that can do that, unfortunately, is IE. And that's just about all I use IE for. There was a Firefox extension that allowed saving a web page as a .mht file but it doesn't work anymore.

Once you have the page saved in .mht format you can open it and do a word search and copy text from it so it's lots better than a screen cap. And you can make a screen cap from it, too. The only drawback is that IE might try to find all of the advertisements and other junk links on the page. I'm not sure if it still tries to do that but it used to and that screwed up opening .mht files. The simple way to fix that is to simply set IE to work off line before opening the file.

To save the file in .mht format you click on File -- Save As... -- then select Web Archive in the drop down menu. It makes a single file that can be emailed and is surprisingly small. So next time you see something you want to document for posterity, save the page instead of or along with a screen cap.

C in Az, I used your idea about the google search to find the original text of the post up on the site dated 12/23, but I didn't find anything from the 24th.

That stuff from Christmas Eve is what I'm looking for, as that's when they attempted to add the correction to the stolen piece before they finally shitcanned all the comments and reset the site back to 12/23, deleting everything occuring before the 24th. By dating their reset 24 hours into the past, it looks to me like they did the reset to try and claim that the flurry of posting they received on the 24th never happened.

I could swear that someone in the comments over there during the morning hours of Christmas Eve stated that they had just downloaded a screenshot of the post, and that it was preserved for posterity. I was hoping that whoever did that would be over here tonight.
