The MSM Much More Understanding of Corruption When It Involves Democrats

Some of these quotes minimizing Chicago corruption are jaw-dropping. Especially given the media's conniptions about the so-called "Republican Culture of Corruption." (And bear in mind -- Republicans have institutional corruption; Democrats merely have a few bad apples who strayed from the One True Faith.)

Here's David Gregory, urging us all to take chill-pill about government corruption, and stop being such babies about it:

"(A)t the heart of all politics is pay to play. Yes. There's a thin line between expectations and shakedown. But do any of us really believe that the people who raise huge sums of money for a particular political candidate aren't expecting something for their efforts? Do we really believe that a person who is vested with the power to give away a Senate seat isn't going to give it to the person who will somehow do him or her the most good?"

Challenge to lefties: Dig up an equivalent quote by Gregory "contextualizing" and minimizing, say, the Abramoff scandal, or Enron, or Mark Foley.

2 It's sort of heart warming to know that the Donks really do know the difference between right and wrong, and that they also acknowledge, left handedly, the we are to ones expected to do the right thing; not them.

8 Once again, Democrats are shown for all the world what they and their media are.  Will anyone learn?

I suppose the saving grace here is that sooner or later the case will go to trial and the results will be pretty hard to deny.  Particularly when high-ranking shitheads in Obama's administration get rolled up in it.

10 Story after story about politics today confirms what we've surely suspected for some months, if not years, now. We are officially in bizarro world.

Our media is not only going financially bankrupt, and deservedly so, it is now ethically, logically, and ideologically bankrupt.

I've pretty much abandoned TV/cable news. Anything worth knowing is now accessed via bloggers and independents who provide the context so lacking from the "professionals," aka cockholsters. How many times can the "news" industry make one's jaw just drop to the floor in disbelief about its corruption? I think my lower lip is now collecting dust-bunnies.

14 Drumwaster & Barry the O. I see what you mean. Should've reasoned this out for myself.

Methods - we can only hope this turns out to be true.

U.S.S. Yorktown - yea, he didn't just start this habit recently, either.

AnonymousDrivel - Quit watching all those cockholster nets & cable many years ago. Still watch a little local news but they are soon to be on my shit-list if they keep up their drivel. Although it was very pleasing seeing our two news readers in 2000 when the Gorbacle was losing. Thought they were collecting dust bunnies. Very satisfying.

15 Off topic, but it's 7:11 eastern and I am watching Lou Dobbs where they have stock footage of Caroline Kennedy walking into a building where some blue collar/working class/little person/peon/nobody/schlub/redneck/flyover guy has the courtesy to open the door for her.  She doesn't acknowledge him, nod her head, say thanks...nada.  Just wisks on by, the peon at least didn't get chewed out for not bowing.

19 Just yesterday, I was recalling basically every conversation I had with people enamored with Obambi. Depending on how it started it, it either touched on his Hopiness, or his Policy. I would denigrate one of these points, and the person would thus respond by saying a talking point about the opposite`but he is so hopey!`, or `but he is going to pull out of Iraq and take money from the rich!`. They would then feel satisfied with themselves as I had to completely restart my line of argumentation. By then they were obviously not listening. For example, if I said that he is not all that hopey changey, tying Chicago machine politics around his neck, the person would respond `oh come on all politicians do stuff like that` without any examples of their own of course and then say `he is the opposite of Bush on policies!`. Then I have to think up all the examples of where Obamas ideas are terrible. This was all pre-election, pre-flipping of course, so there were many a bad ideas to be had. But yes, by that time, I`d tire of the conversation, and in their mind I was a twit for not believing in hope/not believing in his trillion in new social spending. Truthfully, when this is all said and done, I hope I was quite prophetic. In a post I put on FB, I was simply hoping and praying that Obama was really an empty suit that simply fit his environment. It is starting out to look pretty true.

Don't you people get it? They CARE more than us, so it's OK if they lie, cheat, steal, slander, smear, dig into private records, because the ends justify the means.

And what are the ends, you ask? To allow them to get into office, and lie, cheat steal, slander, smear, and dig into private records AND GET PAID FOR IT.

It makes sense to them.

23 My personal gold standard for this is still Sandy Berger. The reporters on NPR were actually chuckling affectionately about him. I still can't believe it. Just imagine the conniptions if his counterpart, Condi, had done what he did.

In fact, that's what I always do. I don't want to be like Them, so whenever I'm calibrating my Outrage-o-meter I imagine what I would think if a person from the other party were in the same situation. No double standards plz.

The latest from the Chicago Swamp Drainer:

“When you get right down to it,” explained NBC’s David Gregory: “almost every Governor is a former bookie.  Chicago is a different place.  I mean, take Kwame Kilpatrick or Marion Berry - victims of history to be sure - but you will please note that nothing in this whole scandal has implicated Richard Daley.”

“This is the mark of true professionalism,” he went on to say: “you can get away with stuff in Chicago that they wouldn’t even dream of in other places.  You can’t help but admire it.”

What's a little obvious hypocrisy when you can make $1 million a year and get your balls licked by the powerful?

Then when the Libs go apeshit, we turn on the lights and show them the hidden cameras.

The two are connected of course. Apart from the moonbat faithful nobody is very interested in what our Pravda have to say. But there's an opening for a genuine news organisation, if anybody was interested in making one.

Dabble? DABBLE?? Oh, come on, what about Newt Gingrich? That guy was as corrupt as they come! Remember? He did that thing, ten years ago, and there was something on the news, he was was teaching a class, or something, and -- it was on the NEWS, for crying out loud! It's a Culture of Corruption with the Republicans, I tell you. Nothing says "corrupt politician" like Newt Gingrich and being mixed up in whatever it was that he did.

The real problem we have is that white liberal guilt is giving a tremendous umbrella of all problems democratic in order to give the appearance of a successfull Bagger Vance presidency.

We are all about to pay a VERY VERY high price for the assuagement of that guilt, both real and imagined.

40 I'm taking the understanding of corruption involving Democrat MSM new-speak into a bet that Caroline's "good intentions" measure up as greed.

Paul Vitello, NYT: "[Caroline Kennedy Onassis] had been largely overshadowed by her brother, John Jr., who was called People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in 1988 and founded George, a political magazine, in 1995."

All about George, Vitello wants to attribute political activism to Jackie's kids who always eschewed politics at every level until now. Now Vitello discribes George as "a political magazine" though that's not what John said it would be when launching his failed endeavor from his mom's literary world as an editor attempting to formulate public opinion as a publicist. When asked in a press conference if George was to be a political magazine, John said not really, leaving the impression that it was to be a sophisticated version of People to appeal to The New Yorker crowd.

Caroline's voice is thoroughly monotone; she's a spoiled bore who can't be troubled to actually work to recognize life from the perspective of anyone beneath her vanity. Her choice of words are sickening; as a Kennedy-Onassis, Caroline CAN'T AFFORD to stay out of politics. Like Michelle Obama, Caroline is going to advertise the progressive neoliberal phrase, "I want to give back," that translates into scratch my back and I'll scratch yours, Sharpton; aka quid quo pro.
