Minnesota Recount Update

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune has a running tally of the results.

As of Friday, 10:38 am (CST), Al Franken is ahead by 120 votes.

Remember, Though [ace]: These vote tallies are off because a significant pile of Coleman votes (and some Franken votes) aren't being counted yet due to challenges. Only when the challenged votes are ruled upon, or the challenges withdrawn, are they counted. A Coleman aid predicted this shift yesterday based on the fact that Coleman was withdrawing a bunch of challenges, so those votes, previously uncounted, went directly to Franken.

Now most of these challenges are going to be pretty stupid and will not pan out. So just because Franken is holding on to a greater number of dumb challenges, thus keeping those votes (for now) from Coleman's column, doesn't mean things will remain that way.

Obviously, though, Democrats have an amazing win record when it comes to close elections.

We all saw this coming, though i had hoped they'd be smart enough not to blatantly steal it. Reid not involved in this one for a change. Just a crooked SoS in Minn. along with some "help" from sympathetic to Dems court and election board counters. I hope there are several real investigations into this outright fraud and they turn up all the skeletons and then some.

On the other hand, can't think of a worse punishment for Dems on the hill than having the Franken albatross around their neck. It won't take long before he does and says something monumentally ignorate and stupid that can't be hidden or spinned

27 I know I risk getting torched for this, but I think it is entirely possible that Franken really, legitimately won given the rules in place. What kills Coleman is that canvassing people are allowed to make a best guess as to voter intent. There are thousands upon thousands of fucked up looking ballots out there. If you decide to follow the hard line and DQ all the fucked up looking ballots, Coleman wins in a walk. But any effort to interpret voter intent will invariably favor the left. While the Dems like to boast about how all the brainy PhDs vote Dem, they are less likely to acknowledge another truth... the left side of the bell-curve also votes Democrat by a wide margin. Therefore, I am not surprised that most of your fucked up ballots probably came from Democrats, and any effort to devine voter intent will favor them accordingly.

What can Coleman do about it now? Probably nothing. Why can't the Republicans discuss the fact theat Dems are more likely to offer up a fucked up ballot? Because it serves no purpose, and any attempt will quickly be interpreted by the press and the left (redundant, I know) to be a slur against minorities. As for the other oddities, like the double counted 133 ballots, that's on Coleman and his lawyers to stop.

Coleman's best hope is that the vast majority Franken's challenges were just downright silly, trying to temporarilly limit the number of votes in Coleman's column. Given that clown and his people, it wouldn't surprise me. I still hold out hope, but I'm worried.

There is a huge difference considering Bush was never behind in Florida in 2000 or in 2004 in any state that mattered. Very big difference when they recount 20 freakin times and every recount turns up new votes in overwhelming numbers for the loser until miraculously the "last" recount he wins.

I told everyone before, This is Minnasota. The DFL has already gotten the confirmed vote of all the dead of the state for the past 250 years they will continue finding (feeding) them in as necessary to ensure victory. They own the state government, the judges, and the media. They have enough friends (fellow Democrats) in Washington to ensure that there will be no (or a very tightly controlled)federal investigation. The people here are so used to the corruption (similar to Illinois) that they don't see any problem and don't understand the big deal. It's the way it has always been.

Never confuse Democrats with facts, they will manufacture their own when needed.

The real story here is the enormous failure of the recount process. If Smalley wins by dint of scrutinizing ballots scrawled with crayon, divined in the manner of Johnny Carson's Carnac, then the winner of that election is not legitimate as far as I'm concerned. If all the questionable ballots were discarded, Coleman had the lead. That is the only legit, fair process. If you can't fill out a ballot, don't expect the rest of us to respect your vote.

I keep expecting serious opposition to our new overlords from our old web pals, and I see them caving in on all sides.
