Claim: Rahm Emanuel on 21 Different Calls with Blago About Senate Seat, All Taped by the Feds

And those are the ones they taped. Who knows if a couple were made on non-bugged phones.

No contacts? Really dude?

Jesse Jackson, Jr. Working With the Feds Since Last Summer? I'm not buying this. If it were true, then JJJ helped arrange a sting on Blago, with the Jackson Family playing along to set him up.

Possible? Sure. But I don't buy it.

More likely the claim comes from JJJ's camp itself and by "working with" the feds regarding Blago, he means answering questions in the long ongoing inquiry.

Which is hardly a big deal. Or proof of innocence.

Blago Adviser Pleads Guilty to Unrelated Charges: About unreported gambling income. But he still might have some interesting tales to tell:

He was not charged with conduct related to state deals but is widely known to be under scrutiny for fund-raising schemes under Blagojevich.

8 Don't expect much to come of this.

Mccain and Newt have given Obama all the cover he needs.  They are now responsible for the corruption we are bound to face.

With one party rule, the GOP should be very concerned with corruption, but aren't.  The MSM will do a great job, as usual, of keeping the voters uninformed.  Obama will be seen 'taking care of vets' 'helping us recycle' or whatever... as the world learns the USA is weaker and more corrupt.

Did Rahm know that Blago wanted a payoff?  Obviously, yes.  Did he report it?  No.  Will he go to jail for his crime?  I'd bet the farm that he doesn't.

It'll get worse before it gets better, and I am wearing my eeyore patch today (I bottled it up during the election, so I feel entitled).

We are in trouble.

Uugh.  This is getting very ugly.  Scandals and power plays - all before day 1 of his administration.  Is it time to panic yet?

Yes, there's glee coming out of my ears, but also panic when the US is shown to be in a weak position.  The foreign policy of the next administration will be an even worse train wreck since there will be two competing factions - Hilary and what's-her-face UN ambassador.

This is disaster and people will party (fiddle) at the inaugeration while the US (Rome) burns.  Gotta' get the bunker ready.

What amazes me is how brazen and or stupid these Illinois pols are.  It was no secret that Fitzgerald, hardly a shrinking violet, was conducting an extensive investigation on Blago but it didn't seem to deter any of them from discussing this shit on government phones.

They either believed they could get away with anything, given the history of Illinois politics not much of a stretch, or they are dumber than dirt.  Also not much of a stretch.

19 So everybody is "misspeaking" except for the chosen one.  I just hope Fitzy doesn't get squishy on us.  There is much more there there than the Plame/Bond crap.  If Rahm is as cocky as his reputation, Fitzy could tie that guy into so many knots it will look like a....knot convention.  For some reason, my gut, is saying that Fitz will go easy so as not to cause a crisis that the O cannot get out of.  In the old days (Bush admin) Fitz would be salivating over confronting a guy like Rahm, hopefully he still has the fire.

The GOP Minority Leader in the House during that time was a mild-mannered fellow named Bob Michel who saw his job as trying to live with a permanent Democratic majority without disrupting the status quo. Fort Dix plot trial wrapping up

CAMDEN, N.J. -- A lawyer for one of the five men accused of plotting to attack soldiers at the Army's Fort Dix said Tuesday the prosecution was off base in its claims that a trip the group took was part of their preparations for a terrorist attack.

“The last guy who tried to bomb Fort Dix received a visit from our incoming president. Why is my client so – quote – baddddd.”

Actually it is Misprision of a Felony under 18 USC 4.

The text of the code.  In addition, everyone involved in those calls is also guilty of this. This is why Obama want desperately to NOT have this come into his ballpark. This does qualify as “High Crimes and Misdemeanors” but then again, so does committing perjury in a civil trial.
